I had a store experience so bad I will never use this Ace Hardware again. This took place at…read moreToole's Ace Hardware in Maitland (1607 S. Orlando Ave.). Yesterday (8/13) at around 4:15PM I bought a transformer from the store. Cost me $34. Unfortunately, it did not fit in the space I have. I took the item back today at around 12:00PM (8/14) with my receipt. I was told I could NOT get a refund for my item, even though I had my receipt. She didn't even open the box to check the item (I had repacked it the way it was sold to me). She asked her supervisor, and the supervisor also said no refund. The cashier told me there were no refunds on electrical items. I was not warned about this by the cashier when I bought the item. I was flabbergasted. I like to support local businesses, but that support only led this local business to spit back into my face. I will never use this Ace Hardware again. We will now make sure to go to the big box stores to guarantee we get a refund if something doesn't work, especially within the first 24 hours. I actually left the transformer with the cashier because I can't use it, and maybe someone else looking for one will be able to. I hope keeping my $34 was worth it to never have my business again.

I showed Wayne my problem he looked over the problem and in a few minutes he figured out my problem and helped me to fix it. I can not tell you how surprised and happy I was that Wayne helped me once again. I bought a Whirlpool dryer from this Lowe's 6 months ago and it's blowing cold air...again. There's no recourse of action. I would not recommend them. On 8/4/25: I purchased a Whirlpool dryer with a 1 year warranty from Lowes in Altamonte Springs. November 2025: Dryer stopped blowing hot air. Lowe's denied responsibility and directed me to Whirlpool warranty, who directed me to Flamingo Appliance Repair. 12/2/25 Flamingo Appliance Repair fixed the problem by replacing a heat sensor. 2/2/2026: Dryer stopped blowing hot air again. The soonest Flamingo could come out was 2/10. 2/10/2026 an automated text announced the tech couldn't make it and provided a link to reschedule my appointment.
