The place is usually clean, including the restrooms. Items are almost always in stock. Finding them can be tough, but the app is helpful if you have it. There are lots of workers about, but they always seem to be busy with other customers. It's hard to flag someone down to ask for help cutting a key, or to ask where such-and-such is. When I have gotten hold of someone, they aren't always that knowledgeable. I was shopping for a hot water heater, and the fellow they sent to me just took me to a computer and went to the Home Depot online site: something I just as easily could have done without coming into the store. The workers are courteous. So it's a decent store, but not the best place I've ever been. Edit June 2018: One of the workers in the garden center was very helpful; I should have gotten her name. She went out of her way to check in with other customers and me; when I took her up on her offer, she was very knowledgeable about what plants to get for what areas of my yard, and guided me right to the plants I needed. I am adamant that any areas that are not easily accessible and visible should have rot-resistant material, especially considering that this was an area that was already showing signs of deterioration. It had been many years since the last paint job and we are located in a heavily wooded area. This was an extra expense that could have been avoided.

BEWARE -- Warranty Is Meaningless…read more We hired W&C Brothers Painters to repaint the entire interior -- walls and ceilings -- after extensive damage left by the previous homeowner. The initial job looked promising: workers prepped thoroughly, covered everything properly, and finished in about a week, wrapping up June 19th. That's where it fell apart. Once we paid in full, getting them back out became like pulling teeth -- 30+ texts sent between June 19th and now, mostly ignored. It took six weeks, until July 30th, before anyone returned. When they finally showed up, they only prepped the problem areas with spackle -- fully aware the sanding and repainting those spots still needed was left undone. They said they'll be back tomorrow morning. We've also found areas in the garage they missed entirely on the first pass. Since July 30th: nothing. No scheduling, no explanation, no acknowledgment. If you're evaluating them on the initial paint job, know the real test is what happens after they've been paid -- and that's where they fail completely. We're 20 days past a "repair" visit that wasn't actually a repair, with missed work still unaddressed and a warranty that exists on paper only.

They did repair the front porch, but shortly thereafter the paint on my back porch started peeling too! I immediately sent pictures and Wilmer ensured me they would repair the peeling paint on my back porch. This was last year and to date, the repairs are not done. I have communicated with Wilmer numerous times and I'm very disappointed. Several times Wilmer told me they were coming to correct the peeling paint but each time it was a no show and no call. I'm questioning if the paint used is actually Sherman Williams because I don't think Sherman Williams paint would peel like that.

Found items in line and they were on sale. Pointed out the items were on sale. I walked back to the rear of the building and removed the sales tag. Also pulled up the price using their Ace Smart phone app. Lower price was on the tag and the app. I was told that I should not remove the shelf tag. The clerk had to call over a manager to override the price. Yes I was able to get it at the sales price. Neither the manager nor the clerk apologized for the inconvenience and hassle. I was not thanked for my business and see no reason to visit this store again. I have made purchases at Ace in Cartersville and never had a problem. This Ace has Unhelpful folks!
