We took our time to select the color. We put up multiple colors on our house to see how the color changed during different times of the day. There were lots of color combinations to choose from! Ultimately, we selected the Super Paint brand which boasts a limited lifetime guarantee. We are very happy with the paint color we chose and its endurance over the years. So far....so good. The paint looks virtually as good today as it did when the house was freshly painted. A complimentary nod to our painter's skill and obviously, the excellent quality of paint we purchased from Sherwin Williams. We recently purchased a new garage door. I wanted to touch up the garage door frame before the new door was installed. I pulled some of the leftover trim paint from the back of the garage so I could take it to the SW store to be mixed. Sadly, the paint was not sealed properly, air got in and it had dried out. Not to worry.....the wonderful employee behind the desk promised to fix my problem and took good care of me. Since my paint color had been discontinued and updated since 2011, we simply did a color match. He mixed me up a new pint (since I didn't need a whole gallon to do touch ups) of the same Super Paint brand I had originally purchased. It looked like a perfect match and I gasped a sigh of relief. After paying for my purchase, he even offered to walk me out to my car as he carried my paint out the door. Excellent customer service with a smile. I am glad that our painter initially suggested to utilize Sherwin Williams. Many years later, I am still one happy customer.

Stopped at the Woodinville Mallory paint store to drop off left over paint for recycle. I was told…read morethat their recycle was full, and that I would need to return the next day. Hmmmm, like they didn't have a spot to hold onto a few gallons of paint for the next day? OK, they have rules, lol. But they lost a good customer over a lack of customer service. Be helpful, salespeople. Your customers have 6 places within a few miles to buy paint.

I went to the store to match a couple of different paints. Everything went absolutely great at first! The people were accommodating and friendly. I was very excited to pick up new palettes for future painting and to find a nice store and expressed my deep gratitude for their efforts. However, when I went to use my contractors discount through my general contractor who does all my painting, the young lady was extremely mean spirited and I was treated like a criminal! She said she needed to call my contractor to verify use of their discount! (On a Sunday) The nature of the conversation was juvenile and snotty. I've never ever ever been treated like this at Sherwin-Williams! I've always been treated with respect and integrity when using my contractors account! I am extremely insulted and will never use the store again! They weren't apologetic they were just even more rude! How incredibly disappointing!!!! I informed my contactor so that he can see how his customers are treated and he said he doesn't work with them often anyway because he receives a better deal elsewhere.

I had such a wonderful experience with Painting America. They really did an amazing job…read more I had a color consultation with Pam to determine which colors to use. I found this really helpful and recommend it to anyone. Pam was very knowledgeable and taught me a lot about how paint looks completely different depending on the light. Again, highly recommended for anyone. Dave and Ross painted, and I don't think they could have done a better job. They are artisans with a LOT of expertise who made my condo look brand new. They are everything you want in a painter. They showed up on time EVERY day, cleaned up after themselves, and were polite and professional. They respected the work hours set by my HOA. Ross even fixed my running toilet (at no charge), which I really appreciated. Before the painting, I had some old baseboard heaters replaced with wall heaters. As a result there were some areas with holes, old paint color, etc. Dave and Ross cleaned all that up. The wall heaters look great, and you can't tell there used to be baseboard heaters. They also fixed a ton of issues I had with my trim. The flooring company who installed it didn't do a great job of joining separate pieces. Painting America took the time to fix all the joins and make it look like a single solid piece. I took bids from 3 other companies besides Painting America, before I went with them. They were one of the higher bids, but they are well worth the money. I am so pleased with the results, and when I need painting in the future I won't look elsewhere. Thanks again Pam, Dave, and Ross!

They most likely will not have time for you. I have tried to get on their schedule for 2 years now…read more The first year I got a one liner - ' Our schedule is full' The second time around I reached out to them early in March: - First they wanted to know if I am ready to wait till August -Then they wanted photos - ' picture of each side of the house including elevation change' - And they wanted livable square footage and colors. All of the above before they even scheduled me for an estimate. I have since had other contractors with equally fabulous reviews on yelp come over, give me estimates and get me on the schedule for this year.

I have to give Seattle Paint & Drywall a very mixed review. Some things were great; some things…read morewere not. Patrick, the estimator (and owner, I think?), was hands-down the best person that we talked with. We wanted some non-standard work done, and most of the other folks we talked to sounded like they had no interest in doing something non-standard, so we were really impressed with Patrick's enthusiasm. He sent us a few quotes, including different options for the work that we wanted done. The final quote seemed pretty reasonable. They told us that the whole job should take about a week. So we scheduled our movers for the Monday after. Sadly, things only got worse from here. The painters arrived on Monday. When we showed up, we decided that the ceilings didn't need to be sanded and refinished after all, but that we did want to paint the trim. The lead painter called up his boss, and I got a call from an administrative assistant, who asked me to give a verbal approval for the price change. I was kind of surprised at how big the price difference was; the extra amount for painting the trim was five times as much as the savings from not sanding and refinishing the entire ceiling, which seemed hard to believe. But we had already signed the contract, so there wasn't much else we could do. On Friday, we stopped by to see how things we were going. We were dismayed to find the place in total disarray. They were barely halfway through with the paint job, and there were painting supplies (and stray paint) everywhere. The place had started out relatively clean, and now it was a total mess. In addition, some of the painting work was pretty shoddy. Instead of following the technique that we had requested, they had basically just brushed paint haphazardly on the wall. We told them that the state of the walls was unacceptable, and they said that they'd redo it. We also reminded them that the movers were coming on Monday, and they promised to have the place cleaned up so that we could move in. Monday came around, and the place looked a little better; there was at least enough free space for us to fit all our boxes and furniture. But it was still pretty messy, and because the paint job wasn't even close to done, we couldn't really unpack most of our boxes, nor could we put most of our furniture in place. At least, thankfully, the bedroom was mostly done, so I could set up our bed. Aside from that, for the next couple of days, we were basically living in a construction zone. In addition, when we were moving in, we ran into a new neighbor. She mentioned how the hallway carpets had just been cleaned, and the painters were getting paint and dirt all over everything. Needless to say, this isn't the first impression that we wanted to give our neighbors! On Wednesday (I think), the painters finally finished up, packed up their stuff, and left. Unfortunately, they also left a huge mess. And, as we gradually found out over the next couple of days, there were also tons of things that hadn't been finished properly, or that had been done really poorly. Undersides of cabinet shelves hadn't been painted at all; they still hadn't gotten the special technique right on the walls; there were big areas that clearly still needed a second coat; and they even broke our paper towel dispenser. We called up Patrick, and the painters were back, this time with a supervisor. The supervisor walked through the condo with us, and made a huge list of all the things that they needed to get done, including "clean the damn floor" (his words). By the end of the day, the paint job finally looked finished, but we still needed to wait another 24 hours for everything to dry before we could really set everything up. About a month went by, and we didn't hear anything from them. Eventually, we received the bill. It was yet another disappointment and surprise. First, even though we had "downgraded" the quality of the paint (the bid was for Rodda, the paint we got was Valspar), it turned out that the Valspar was much more expensive, because they paid retail. So we had an extra charge for that. Second, there were $1,500 worth of hourly charges for additional work. The hours were way overstated (and we eventually got the charges reduced), but even so, it seemed excessive for what they accomplished. The moral of the story, for us? First, never sign a contract that includes hourly billing. Second, never sign a contract that doesn't clearly separate materials from labor. Third, find out other people's experience of what happens when you ask for a contract change. Fourth, don't assume that a good estimator always has good people working for him. In the end, we're reasonably satisfied with the work that was done, but we're definitely not happy with how much work it took to get here, and how much money we had to spend. We'll definitely be looking elsewhere the next time we need painting and drywall work.
