I just gotta shout out the customer service at the AIH Old Seward Location. I went in looking for a…read morepart for a STIHL Product and spoke with a gentleman at the counter who I believe was named Zeph. While the location didn't have the product, he directed me to the diamond location, which he was able to tell me had the correct part I needed. I go over to the diamond location and I speak with William at the counter who asks me for the part number of the product. I tell him what the product is and I show him on the STIHL Website, and he replies with " Sir, there's no way I can find your product if you don't know the part number" I show him the one given to me on the website, and he says "that doesn't help me". Respectfully, I offer to call the old Seward location to speak with the gentleman who directed me to the diamond location and see if he could tell me the part number. Immediately, Zeph picks up the phone and I explain the situation. I tell him that Wilson can't find the product without knowing the part number. Zeff replies with "Na, He's just being lazy. He can find the product." Zeph from Old Seward then gives me the part number, and I share it with William to help me find the product. Shout out again for the customer service at the old Seward location coming in handy, even at the diamond location. Ha ha. I would encourage the diamond location to be a little bit more familiar with the product so that they're able to help customers who come in, not knowing the part number. I understand how the part identification system works, but it did feel like William was honestly just annoyed to serve a customer, and I did kindly express how I desired to give him my business and wanted to help serve him by helping him find the product, but simply didn't know the part number. All around I'm always very grateful for AIH and their good service.

I came down here to get a couple of items for a house project that I completed today. ACE Hardware…read moreis located in a strip mall off the corner of Jewel Lake Rd. and W. Dimond Blvd. next to Great AK Pizza Co. The employees are very friendly and super helpful. I needed some Cork Stoppers to conceal some nails that were sticking through the ceiling in one of the basement rooms. The house itself is old, probably built in the 1960's, but jeez, whoever laid the wooden beams for the foundation of this house did a terrible job. There were nails sticking out or hanging off the beams as if the builder just left it there instead of using them. I pulled out most of them and used the Cork Stoppers to conceal the remaining nails that I couldn't remove. Not to deviate from the main subject, the employee knew exactly where to find the items I needed and directed me to the exact spot. There are hundreds if not thousands of small parts or accessories on the shelves. The Cork Stoppers were located in one of the aisles at the very end of the store where I would never think to look. I was impressed that he went through all the shelves and went straight to the Cork Stoppers a few seconds after I asked him where they were located. It should be noted that there is more than just hardware in this store. This is one of my favorite places to purchase Christmas decorations. The store boasts a large section devoted to holiday displays and many unique items can be found here that aren't normally in the big box stores. I was able to find some great Charlie Brown Christmas items for the house and the office. During the summer, they have a great BBQ section filled with the latest style of grills and an accompanying shelf stocked with various dry rubs and spices from local businesses down in the lower 48. Over by the cash registers, there are shelves filled with old-school candy and snacks from years past. Idaho Spud, Necco, and Mallo Cup are some of the nostalgic brands I came across. Aside from hardware needs, this place is a great option for novelty items.

Again, no watermarks, no info in meta data, no copyright whatsoever. I support their policy on not printing copyrighted material, but this was not it. Regardless, I chose to have my order refunded and after my refund was processed I thank them anyway. In turn, I was not offered a "you're welcome", "have a nice day" or anything else. Refusing service is inconvenient, but not worth one star. Unprofessional employees, however, and lack of good service deserve zero stars.

I've had a huge Alaskan landscape original oil painting by artist Steven Gordon for the past 30…read moreyears. It is magnificent and pulls you into the scene of a cascading stream through the lush fall forest foliage. It has been prominently displayed in my California Sierra ski lodge for at least 25 years. But I am moving to another country, and it wouldn't be practical to take it with me. I reached out to a number of Alaskan fine art galleries to see if they would consign the painting. Then I learned about Alaskan Premier Art Auctions and emailed them. Shawna Ashlock responded almost immediately to my inquiry and shared that they were just about to hold an auction of Alaskan artists and their original artwork. Shawna was both patient in explaining the auction end-to-end process, and enthusiastic in helping me get the large painting to Anchorage in time for the auction. After a quick search for a local vendor for a tractor implement that we have, I found Dave's Tractor and we gave them a call. We were prepared with item numbers and such for what we needed and received a call back a short while later with a quote and availability. They were willing to remove the additional parts from the implement they had in stock to sell us and order again for themselves. Not only this, they took a credit card over the phone and since they weren't going to be at the shop, Dave was nice enough to meet up with me elsewhere to pick up the teeth. Easy peasy! We won't hesitate to contact them again if the need arises and I highly recommend giving them a call for tractor/implement needs!
