NAG is located in the shopping plaza at Routes 11 and 100. The decor is nice, simple and comfortable. The menu is diverse with various ethnic dishes along with the kind of dishes you would expect from an American Grill. My friend ordered the Seoul Food and I ordered a Scallop special. When the food came out both dishes were very nice, however after my first taste of the scallop special I realized that the dish was topped with bacon, which had not been mentioned in the description by the server. The server was very nice about the issue and offered to have the dish remade without the bacon, but I opted instead to get the Pesto Shrimp Alfredo pasta; the kitchen managed to get the new dish out promptly. While the shrimp in the dish were good, I found the sauce to be a bit one note and overly heavy; it really seemed to lack the herbal taste I expected from a pesto dish. While not a bad dish I would not order this again. My friend did enjoy the bulgogi flavored chicken. It seemed most of the guests were enjoying their meal, unfortunately I just seemed to have some bad luck with my meal selections. Hard for me to make a strong recommendation for The New American Grill, but of course your experience may vary.

The restaurant itself is large and clean with a cozy feel. As soon as we sat the young bus girl made sure we had water. From there our waitress Carol stole the show. She was the best! I had a couple delicious drinks and the pork chops. Both my daughters had chicken parm which was ridiculously big. They loved it and took home almost half. We actually lived here for several years, and I couldn't post this review until we moved away because of the owner's repeated behavior of attacking people on social media who disagree with or criticize him. The food here is "fine", it's not actually bad or anything. But it is tiny in portions (a rarity for Vermont), and it's overly "chef-y" without actually executing well. It's one of those places where the chef probably thinks that he would get a Michelin star if only they would come to see him, but I can tell you having eaten at over 100 cumulative Michelin stars in my life this is nowhere close. It fails in flavor, presentation, and execution. But again, not terrible. The setting is actually kind of nice too, somewhat homey which is juxtaposed and ruined by the arrogance of the staff. If you don't mind being guaranteed to wait well beyond your actual reservation time, and then waiting probably another hour just to get some meager first courses, then maybe this is the place for you? I doubt it though, there are so many options just in Ludlow alone, and even more that are worth the 45 minute drive to Woodstock or Manchester to avoid having to eat here if you want a "nice" meal. Whatever you do absolutely avoid coming any time near "stick season" or "mud season" (Vermonters will know) because you're guaranteed to get even worse service then. Ludlow has a ton of restaurants for such a small town, many of them quite good. This is the ONLY place we actively recommended friends and guests of ours to avoid. Even the crappy fake taco place down the street got occasional business over this place due entirely to the repeated piss poor attitude of the two owners.
