The family's very first time exploring New England and this was homebase for an extended weekend. Day or night - the entire staff were (always) awesome. The room was very spacious (plenty of chairs, even a separate sink at the 'kitchen space' which proved invaluable) and clean. The bathroom was great. (But we do need to talk about the toilet's jet-powered vacuum suction which actually made me jump more than once. That's entirely too much power!) Beds were bigger than a twin, smaller than a queen. (Sheets and pillows were... fine.) Minor bummer: we weren't able to control/adjust the air conditioning. The control panel was disabled and it was always on - which was loud and a bit too chilly. Breakfast buffet - limited but surprisingly excellent. (The first day was in a separate/private room and was the better of the times we went.) Pool - good sized (the sign on the wall mentioned a weirdly specific number of "53" people being allowed to use it at same time which I found amusing) and (kind of) warm and not overly 'chemicaled'. (A few weeks earlier we were at another Marriott Bonvoy property and that pool earned an "F" grade.) Major bummer: a parking lot that you had to pay to use. (There were a handful of free/open spots but you have a better chance of hitting the lottery than snagging one of these.) I mean... we're (paying) guests, the room was not cheap - is it that farfetched to expect a place where we can park and not have to get dinged every time we're leaving the lot to explore Massachusetts? Not sure when we'd be back in this part of the country but we'd definitely come back here, for sure. read more

I picked this hotel for two reasons. One, it wasn't city proper but close enough and two it has a heated pool. I absolutely loved my stay. The staff here are nice. The food is delish. The bartender John was super friendly. We seemed to only have one issue and that was constantly trying to give a room of 4, 4 towels at the same time. We resorted to taking them from the pool that we visited every day. Although I didn't get to check it out the train station is a 15 minute walk away. There is a Starbucks on site but it's open until 11am. Essentially from 11am to 5pm if you want food you're going to have to walk down the hill and get Panera or venture off to Press which is a restaurant with yummy food and a line out the door. Panera did us just fine. The beds here were comfy and the rooms felt not new but not old either. Would definitely stay here again. read more

Not sure where to begin. Front desk upon arrival was not warm, not friendly, nor even welcoming. Hence the primary role of his job. Upon arrival to room, garbage was all over the front of the door. When in room, it smelled so badly of mold, aging cheap furniture, and sh*t. Let's go to the bathroom; no body soap in dispenser, shampoo was almost empty, not a bar of soap by the sink either. Room phone doesn't work. WTF is management not doing or "doing" bc this hotel is a mess. No hand soap in bathroom at the gym / pool area. And as noted in prior posts from other guests, no mattress coverings / mattresses pads on the mattresses. Just sheets on the mattress, which is unsanitary at all costs. Who owns this place????? Oh should I mention the bugs in the bathroom and bedroom. Yea. No bueno. So imagine what the kitchen must look like that makes you the hotel food if the guests rooms are like this. read more

Honestly the worst hotel I have ever stayed out. The rooms cannot hold more than two people. The beds hold only one adult and I am not a larger person. 5ft4 They book making like you can have more than two in a double bed room but when you enter there are only two towels in the room. Headboards that are black with dirt. Lamps that don't work, phones that don't work. Then you get to breakfast and they don't bring out food for $24.95 per person. But they tell you , they will. Second day we gave up and said something and they stopped charging EVERYONE it was so bad. The room service also came with spoiled vegetables. A disgrace for a hotel. If you look at the reviews for this hotel, They are Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. I had an outstanding stay and would be very happy to stay here again. But I do not believe the negative reviews are troll or full-of-petunias reviews. I have stayed in hotels with friends in different rooms - Where I had a wonderful room and their room was straight out of hell. In each of those cases - the hotel was in a process of upgrading. I was lucky enough to get an upgraded room. They were unlucky and got rooms still on the waiting list. I think there is a comparable split here at the Marriot. I was on the fifth floor in what is considered to be a premium area. My room was terrific. I also used the gym and it was perfectly fine. The main lobby and the common hang out area were really fine. So was the common lounge on the second floor. The building has multiple wings. I suspect that one of the wings is an unimproved wing. If all the fifth floor rooms are nice - make sure you get a fifth floor room. Otherwise, if you don't like your room, try to switch to a room in a completely different section of the building. Explain you want a room that has been recently maintained. If they are sold out - you may be out of luck. But in most cases, I think they can cover you. read more

My employer got me a room in this hotel, and it was okay. The rooms did seem to be clean and did not smell bad. The hotel seems to be old, and their elevator makes a lot of noise when you reach floor 5. To get to the pool is hidden; I couldn't find a sign to let you know you go inside the gym and find the way to the pool. The lobby is the only area that looks modern and new. Their food is okay, but I do have to say the burger was really good. My coworkers got the other meals, which we shared, and they were okay. The buffalo wings were okay, and I will try them again. There's only one bartender, and if it gets packed, he gets frustrated and ignores you until he's not rushed. read more

We stayed here because we were attending an event in the hotel. The room was fine and the included sofa was reasonably comfortable. Everything thing was very nice but not really luxurious. We were there over the weekend and breakfast was included in our room rate. On the weekend there is only a buffet which was similar to that in a Hampton Inn or equivalent. But the coffee was really good, and there were nice pastries. Still, if we had been paying the $24.95 that was the rate if it wasn't in your room rate, we would have felt cheated. You really can't walk to anything because hotel is on a steep hill and there are no sidewalks. You're trapped. As an aside, the food at the event was terrible. read more

Stayed for 2 nights in May 2025, room on 2nd floor looked new, no active remodeling (previous reviews mentioned poor experiences could have been due to renovations in progress). Pros: -friendly staff -lobby/restaurant was nice and cozy -room was clean, no smells -quiet at night during weekdays because of location up a hill -convenient location for travel to western side of Boston Cons: -water pressure in the shower was pathetic. Clean and freshly remodeled bathroom, but with low flow fixtures (can barely rinse the soap off). Loss of an entire star just for miserable showering experience. -cost: charging higher-end prices for mid-tier quality and service. Food at restaurant was good, but overpriced for the same quality as Applebees, Chilis, or any modern "burgers and brews" restaurant. Pool is hard to find, gym has like 3 treadmills, 3 ellipticals, and a single weight machine. Not exactly high-end amenities. Summary: Staying here is fine, but there's nothing here you can't find somewhere else for a better price. read more

First time here and it will probably be my last. The AC was so loud that I couldn't sleep. Unfortunately I need it on due to the high heat and humidity during my stay here. I don't know why this hotel has just 2 and a half stars, my boyfriend and I were a little worried abut it when we found it on the internet( price was low ) the reality is definitely 5 stars, or at least 4 for some of you, unless you're so annoying. We loved it, the guy who received us was so sweet, he even gave us a card to use next day for breakfast as courtesy, our room was so cool and clean! The worst hotel we ever had!!for almost 2 night we did not have hot water. Been complaining to the front desk 3x and the last the guy who keeps coming up our room said that since they are renovating the hot water is not coming into our side of our wing unless they keep it on for the whole time. Next is their AC in the room, we complained that it was not blowing cold air and the front desk told us they cannot turn the AC yet because it's not season to turn it on yet. If they do turn it on they have to turn on the whole hotel's AC and she said it was not season yet. We came in March and we liked cozy cold rooms when we stay in hotels. Lastly they don't serve breakfast unless you pay for it and good thing thing someone was sitting and dining when we are getting coffee and they were disappointed in their food. So I wrestled with giving this hotel a 3 or a 4 star, and I feel the customer service we received brings it up to a 4. The hotel is a fine hotel...actually, better than fine, it's good. I see some negative reviews on here so as usual, it's all about the luxuries you expect and the different experience you went through. Me and my girlfriend had pretty much no qualms. I'm an easy guy to appease. Just serve me a place to sleep and good customer service and I am a happy customer, and this hotel did just that. My gf complained the beds/pillows were too firm, and I see others do as well, but that didn't bother me. I thought the room was nice, ours was clean. One qualm I have is there was a small centipede in our bathroom the first night. That was a little bit bothersome, but I didn't freak out over it too much. Now if I had run into more bugs during our 5 day stay I would have been angry, but it was only that one and while not ideal, I know sometimes no matter how hard you try bugs can find their ways into places. Another qualm I have is the air condition. This is probably just a personal problem of mine but I like my A/C to stay constantly running. This A/C cuts off after it reaches the desired temperature and I understand most A/Cs do that, but I would prefer if there was a fan you can keep on (rather a ceiling fan or a fan in the AC) to atleast keep some air flowing on you while you sleep. I would wake up in the middle of the night every night once the AC cut off cuz my body is the type that knows instantly when the air flow is no longer flowing. Again, this is likely just a personal qualm of mine. When the air condition did run though, it ran strong and powerful. I just wasn't a big fan of it turning on/off throughout the night once it reached its desired temperature. So those were probably my only "negatives". Everything else was good to me. The fridge in the room is helpful. There's a microwave in the ice machine room so you have to go out your room to heat any food you may have but this didn't bother me. The TV is great and offers many channels and streaming apps. The wifi for us was great. We didn't have to ask for it and were not charged for it. They allowed us up to 3 devices with wifi and it worked well on two of our phones and my laptop. Room service was everyday and was exquisite. The toilet flushes really, really loud and powerful haha, but it didn't bother us. The room walls are a tad bit thin where sometimes you can hear people in the adjourning room or in the hallways, but it's not too bad. Usually only if you're in complete silence is when you can hear the outside. Our shuttle service was A+. We usually left our room after 12 and every time we requested a shuttle, they appeased us. The shuttle only goes 3 miles but one of the locations they drop you off to is the T station, which is very useful and will save you a lot of money. So I imagine most people book this hotel to save money from the pricey hotels in Boston. Well I certainly recommend this one and take advantage of the shuttle (I believe it runs until 8pm; I'm not sure if it runs on Sat and Sun though) to the T train and you'll be able to get to Boston in 30-45 mins (depending how far in Boston you're trying to go). I hope the manager sees this review, if so, please know that Al and Roberto were just the absolute best. Good drivers, offered great tips, very friendly and knowledgable. It was a pleasure to have them drive us every day to the station. A few food places around the area, not a lot but if you have a car you'll have access to some. There's some places you can walk to to eat as well like a Panera Bread. We came to Boston for a Red Sox game and this hotel was a good choice for us. The T station takes you to all the places in Boston you want to visit, including Fenway Park, so all of our needs were met and we saved a lot of money by not having to get a hotel directly in Boston. We also went to the Patriots game in Foxborough. The T train doesn't go directly to Foxborough, so if you plan on going to Gillette Stadium, a Lyft/Uber may be your best bet which is about $30 to and from (note: the prices may surge the closer it gets to and after game time). There are commuter rail options to get to Foxborough but those trips will last about 2 to 3 hours and cost $20 roundtrip. If you want to save a buck and are patient, go for it. But we just went the ride share route because we already saved a lot of money using the T train to get to Boston everyday. read more

We were advised to stay here with my students for a competition at UMass. The rooms were comfortable, the hotel was clean and besides the updates on the fourth floor hallways that caused it to be extremely cold while Walking to our rooms, I had no issues with the facilities. The five stars are mostly for the friendliness and helpfulness of the front desk manager **Mr. Demetrius Glove**, who went beyond and above to assist us in every way he could. Directions, accommodations for late arrivals, access to the lounge, and overall all the welcoming smile and willingness to help was commendable and made us feel at home. Then the **Chef OJ Scurry** who personally checked on us in the lounge to ensure we have all we needed. I think staying at a hotel is 30% about the facility and 70% about how welcome you feel. I would call this a business man's hotel. My uncle loves staying here but me and my girl cousins weren't as impressed. The sink and mirror are in the bathroom with the shower. There is one full length mirror outside the bathroom by the closet. And that's the extent of mirrors. There isn't a fan in the bathroom, so you have to pop the door open and wait for the mirror to unfog so you can begin getting ready. Beds are comfy and the pillows are HEAVENLY! loved the Starbucks coffee in room. Nice to have a mini fridge. Ice and microwave not too far from our room. Uncle and I hit up the breakfast buffet one morning. Not a bad spread of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, breads, and even oatmeal! There were 3 different types of yogurts to choose from. There was a toaster for the breads. I was impressed! Uncle said it was about $14 a person. If you're a dude or traveling alone, I would recommend this hotel. Otherwise... Maybe not so much. read more

I recently needed a hotel in this area for work and I had initially booked the Courtyard in Natick because it's near the Natick mall and I love to shop, lol. However, I found the Courtyard to be disgusting and after spending a few hours there, eating horrible food and almost vomiting from the terrible odors - I abruptly left the courtyard and came here (yay thanks to Marriott points!). (I was unable to get a refund from the Courtyard). I really am glad I came here. It smelled clean, the staff was very nice and it was much much better than the courtyard. The only awkward things were the parking scenario and lack of a ramp to roll your luggage in, and the comforter on the bed was really thin and worn out. It was basically a sheet with another sheet on top of it, haha. It was fine though because they brought me an additional blanket and I was finally able to get some rest. TLDR: Skip to the pictures I stayed at the Sheraton for 1 night on a work trip. I had previously stayed at this hotel multiple times with no issues, although my experience this time was horrific enough for me to stop staying in Sheraton's for life. I woke up and found a bed bug crawling in bed with me. I understand bed bugs happen - but they need to be handled properly so they do not spread. I also know what bed bugs look like and what the signs of bed bugs are. I trapped a live bed bug and put it on the bedside table in a glass with a coaster on top so that the pest control company could see it. I called the front desk and informed them of the situation and they assured me that they would take this seriously and quarantine my room until the pest inspector could get there. Imagine my surprise when I received this email from the manager: "Thank you for, discreetly, sharing your concerns about a possible pest issue in your room with us this morning. We take any such concerns seriously and treat the room as if it has an issue until it's been cleared by a professional pest inspector. Our outside pest inspector from EcoLabs just completed his inspection of your room and reported no signs of bed bug activity in the room. Unfortunately, the Room Attendant assigned your room this morning, entered the room before the supervisor could pull the room from her assignments. The glassware had already been washed in the room, and he wasn't able to examine the specimen you trapped. He did report finding a carpet beetle in the room, which are harmless. At this time he's not recommending any further quarantine or action." I checked out of my room at 7:45AM and there were no room attendants nearby at this time. Look at the pictures attached and decide for yourself if there is bed bug activity. Even worse than the bed bugs, is the cover up and mishandling of this situation!!! Because of their carelessness who knows how many other rooms could be infected? Management continues to deny this and apologizes that I found "a bug" in my room. It is not just "a bug" it is bed bugs. Look at the pictures. Also, upon checkout I was not offered any kind of reimbursement or voucher of any kind. read more

We returned to the Sheraton Needham again after a visit during the pandemic saw the bar and restaurant closed down. These guys are really upping their game! The room we got was clean and it came with a nice quiet fridge. The property isn't fancy, but is nicely maintained and clean and more than good enough for a family visit or business trip. Most importantly was that the front desk team of Tasha and Cece were very friendly and helpful getting us checked in and making sure we got everything we needed. They have this stupid garage setup where you are supposed to use a Marriott Bonvoy app on your phone to scan a code to trigger the liftgate to the entrance, or you can text a number to get in. It ain't easy. Last tip, you can often get a great deal on this hotel on Priceline and other sites. It is seconds off of Rte. 128 and should be considered by travelers not needing to be in downtown Boston. Right down the street there is just about every kind of restaurant imaginable, which is nice. read more

Stay here somewhat regularly when traveling for work monthly to boston. Overpriced for sure! Tires and in need of a dinner, I ordered a salad at $17 assuming it was a meal size salad for that price. Asked for some chicken to be included that could be cooked rare. 20 minutes later I received a wilted salad the size of my hand, with bitter apples and overcooked dry chicken. I said to the waitress, "I thought this would be a dinner amount, not a side salad for $17". She brushed me off and said that's what the kitchen makes . I didn't eat the salad. I went to the front desk and they were very understanding and accommodating, giving me a voucher for a free breakfast . Breakfast the next morning came with black coffee without cream, without a spoon to stir sugar. The potatoes were cold, the omelette was good. The waitress disappeared and never returned . I finished my meal and left. A disappointing experience for a weary traveler. Oh, and the ac in my room sounded as if it had a plastic bag inside of it, making it impossible to sleep. I had to figure out how to flip the switch under the unit to turn it off and open the window. Overpriced for the mediocre food and accommodations though the front desk staff was kind and generous. I stayed here for 2 nights on a Tuesday - Thursday visit this past week while visiting Boston. Whenever I arrived to the hotel at around 8:00 PM or so I found the parking situation to be quite odd. They have a multi story garage with places where you can take a ticket along with posted rates. However they don't use it and so you can enter and park for free. In any case, once I parked and finally made my way into the hotel I tried to check in. I was told that even though I had booked a king sized room, since I hadn't prepaid, all they had left was doubles. Since I am a decently tall guy and prefer a king I rightfully complained to them and they ultimately decided to give me 10k Marriott points which was nice, but I honestly would have preferred the bigger bed. This actually wasn't my only trouble during my time here either. On my last morning there, I was preparing to get into the shower after getting back from my morning run. While standing there in my boxers, I heard my door being opened. After opening the door, housekeeping -hearing the shower on - asked if anyone was in the room and I responded that I was. This was a bizarre incident to me for two reasons. The first being that housekeeping should have knocked and announced themselves before entering, especially at 8:15 AM. You don't just let yourself in. Then maybe even more importantly, what was she doing in my room before I checked out? If I hadn't been there and she had cleaned it, wouldn't she have to clean it again? Or was something more nefarious afoot? In any case I definitely wasn't happy about that and combined with the not honoring my king bed reservation deserves the 2 star rating. As for the hotel itself, it actually seemed pretty nice. They had a huge bar and dining area near the lobby which was super busy both nights whenever I came in including well after dinner hours. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. However the walls were pretty thin and I was woken up the first morning at 6 AM by the guy in the next hotel making a phone call. I am going to make the assumption that he wasn't yelling and yet I could hear everything that he said. This hotel also had a gym but I didn't use it during my brief stay here. The bottom line for me is that I wouldn't stay here again in the future. While the bed mishap might have been forgivable, the housekeeping one isn't. Couple that with the fact that there is a Homewood Suites really close if you are a Hilton person or the Newton Marriot also nearby if you are a Marriott person and there's no need to stay at this place. read more

After we checked into our room, we heard an intermittent squeaky noise. Looking inside the closet, it was a MOUSE caught in a mousetrap. This was slightly shocking and of course unsanitary! ! We were moved to another room. There was no soap or body wash in this room.i called the front desk and they said they would send someone with soap but no one came. The next morning, our room card did not work for concierge level access. When the issue was resolved, there was no breakfast there as one of their employees didn't show up to work. Courtyard outside of Bar was directly beneath our second floor room. Voices, laughing and general "carousing" very audible when we turned in at 10P but we figured there must be a reasonable time when the hotel would closed that area for the night. It actually continued until 2:45 AM when a group of them unloaded from the elevators near our room and continued in the hallways and/or with their room doors open. Strike 3: I submitted a complaint to Marriott via their website. About a week later I got an email apologizing and indicating they would add points to my Bonvoy account......but no response to my request for a refund. They said they would be forwarding my complaint to the hotel itself and that I would be hearing from directly within 2-3 business days. That was weeks ago and I have heard nothing....plus my emails back to Marriott have been ignored. So, all I can do is post a bad review and hope no one else encounters what we did. read more

There is never management here. We clearly found BED BUGS wasn't so sure at first but we've stayed at a lot of hotels and always do the bed bug check and took pics and reported it to the front desk. They only offered us another room when we asked to go to another hotel. They are still holding my funds even though we were there for about 45 min. There is NEVER a manager on duty here, only weekdays early hours so if you need management after hours or evening hours forget it. We contacted Needham Board of Health and they contacted the GM there and he gave them a verbal "yes we follow procedure" and that was the end of that !!!!!!!!!!!!!! VERY DISTURBING read more

Started at front desk person was not friendly at all very abrupt. Room was ok clean but very worn. Tried to order room service but it was a Sunday night and they weren't open wish we had known before we got there but ok I understand. Went to take a shower and there was no hot water so we had to take cold showers. Also they charge $12 to park in a beat up garage. read more

Places and spaces can take on the color and energy you bring to them. If you are sad, everywhere you look, everywhere you sit, everywhere you lay your head, can seem dull and gray, bleak, lifeless. Conversely, if you are happy and full of joy, all around you seems brighter, more vibrant - pillows seem softer, beds more comfortable, living spaces warm and inviting. So it was with great trepidation that the kids and I joined Ellen over Thanksgiving in Boston as she cared for her ailing father. The Sheraton Needham Hotel turned this adage on its head. From the moment we arrived, the management and staff went above and beyond to make our stay as best as it could be. After a long and grueling flight, Anne, the night manager, greeted us with a smile, said sweet things about Ellen (who had by this time been at the hotel for over 10 days) and exuded a positivity and warmth that cut right through the cold and snowy Boston night. Our late check - in went without a hitch and our room was waiting clean and comfortable. The hotel is not a swanky 5 star affair. But it's amenities are more than adequate: free WIFI throughout the hotel; an indoor swimming pool and gym with free weights and cardio machines; a full service restaurant and bar; a complimentary hot breakfast each morning on the top floor; room clean and neat each afternoon upon our return. It's even dog - friendly. This review is one of the easiest I have written and I really want to thank everyone at the Sheraton Needham Hotel for making my family's stay over Thanksgiving a real pleasure. read more
