We were staying one night in Boston and decided to stay here with all of the great reviews. Loved that this was away from the hustle and bustle of Boston and did not have to worry about the traffic of being in downtown Boston - or worry about parking! The good: friendly staff, nice welcome cookies, nice breakfast spread and drink options, small quiet hotel. Rooms are large and have a nice layout. The bad: water pressure in shower was not great and the walls are thin. I could hear the neighboring room - coughing, alarm going off in the morning, and closing/beeping of microwave. Overall I would recommend and stay here again. No issues other than just what we could hear easily.

The lake is right next to the hotel

Last Friday I came to this hotel to attend a conference nearby at the local hospital. Despite its name, it is rather smallish in size with a few floors, so it looks much bigger on the promotional literature than in reality. The travel website I booked on had a saving for a room with a queen bed, and kitchenette and the room were quite spacious, if not a little cold. On arrival, I found only one person at the reception desk who was helpful but did not particularly go out of her way to meet all my needs or point me in the right direction. And in fact she was the only person available that night, and when I checked out the following day. To her credit, it seems like the hotel had her covering every aspect from reception to breakfast arrangements. And in fact, there were very few employees around to meet the number of guests needs. And that's clearly something the hotel needs to improve on from a staffing perspective. So what are my findings: PROS: -Large rooms -they have basic amenities including an oven, fridge, and kitchenette -two televisions -large work desks -free wi-fi -Coffee and hot water pot available CONS -closets are rather small -The bathroom is a shower room only and could have been stocked with more towels, soaps, and cleansing essentials...a spare toothbrush and paste would have been appreciated -no restaurant...just a breakfast area with the basics provided -no shuttle service to and from public transportation and airport -not enough employees to meet everyone's needs Would I stay there again? Well if I am in the area probably, but otherwise no. All in all- an okay experience, but nothing to write home about.

The property has that signature Westin scent in the air. The building is in good shape, and has a nice atrium that upper floors can look onto from the hallways above. The fitness center was pretty good. Decent cardio options. Maybe a bit anemic on the strength training, with only a cable machine, some kettle bells, and dumbbells that only went up to 50 lbs. There's a pool next to the fitness center, as a nice bonus. My one gripe was with the hotel restaurant/bar. I stopped by for a drink at the end of the night, and was a bit disappointed. The old fashioned was okay, but the coordination between the bar and the kitchen (physically separated by the layout) was off. It took 20+ minutes to get a plate of steamed edamame out, only after a gentle reminder. And when it came, the edamame had been steamed to mush. No firmness left, and the pods were falling apart to the touch. Good overall property and quality rooms; maybe skip the restaurant.

The room itself was fine--clean and comfortable enough, nothing special but no major issues either. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. It cost $26, which is quite high, but the quality was honestly very poor and not worth the price at all. I expected much better from a hotel like this. Another thing that stood out was the lack of basic amenities. Items like a toothbrush and other essentials were not provided unless we asked for them, which felt inconvenient and below standard. Overall, not a terrible stay, but definitely not great value for the money. Price might look good, but the quality doesn't match.

I arrived right around 5 PM in the middle of the week and there was only one person stocking the in-house store and handling check-ins. I could tell she was very busy, probably tired (rightfully so), but very professional and kind. She handed me a little welcome bag that contained two bottles of filtered water and a helpful information sheet. She promptly shared with me the Wi-Fi access information, which I greatly appreciated. Took the elevator up to my room and was pleased to find that the carpeting in the hallway was very thick, and that only half of the guestroom was carpeted. I like having a hard floor, however, the carpeting, draperies, and bedding all were in great condition. The microwave was small, but adequate for my needs, and the mini fridge was just as good. I really enjoyed the Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries they had, but noted that they didn't have the standard guest items like Q-tips. Almost had a meltdown in the morning when I thought I couldn't get the Keurig machine to work (lol), but it just had a little bit of a delay. The coffee was not Keurig, and was just OK, but it served its purpose (caffeine). Check-in and checkout we're very easy using my digital key. Unfortunately, I was assigned the room right next to the elevator, so I could hear it rumbling with the doors slamming most of the evening and beginning again around 5 AM, but it did stop during the night, and it's not their fault. It's a hotel, and that happens. I would stay at this property again.

It is away from the hustle-and-bustle of Waltham. In my view, it is one of the best options for lodging in Waltham. Prior to moving to Boston, I would visit this hotel yearly on my trips to Waltham for medical needs. The hotel has always been safe, clean, comfy, and cozy. My most recent stay is no different than the past. We checked in after a long drive back from New York State. Luggage carts easily accessible right at the entrance. Plenty of free, COVERED parking, which is a recent addition to this property! They also have expanded electric car capability for those of you with an EV! The night-staff always has and still leaves much to be desired. I feel they could use a touch-up on hospitality, accommodating guests, and basics like cutting workable room keys. Additionally, the on-site snack shop could use restocking a bit more often given the traffic this hotel receives. The lobby and common areas are always clean, fresh, and in great condition. I've noticed on my regular stays here the level of upkeep and maintenance. They truly care about and take pride in their property. It's why I continue to stay here when in Waltham. The rooms are fresh, open, and airy. The beds are plush with fresh, crisp, and clean linens. There are no lingering smells or odors anywhere on the property, which is a welcome relief these days! The rooms feature a mini fridge, coffee maker, and mini fridge. The suites do come with a microwave. Otherwise, there is a microwave in the lobby area for a late-night bite. They also have a gift shop on site, however I've noticed it usually is out of stock due to the traffic here. The breakfast is top-notch. Several main choices. Several proteins. Hand-held fruits. Yogurt. Pastries/Muffins, Waffles. They do the full gamut of the Hampton Breakfast. The staff is attentive to guest flow and demand and I've never had them run out of food. The sales manager is also lovely and always goes above and beyond to accommodate us and our needs. This is one of the many reasons we remain loyal to the brand for 200-300 nights every year. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable accommodation in or around Waltham, you cannot go wrong with the Hampton Inn Waltham! Pro Tip: The on-site mini bar/ Craft Food Hall concept is only open Monday-Wednesday due to demand. Outside of that, delivery services are reliable here and the hotel has given us several phenomenal delivery recommendations during our stay here!

I gotta say this had to be one of the most comfortable beds and pillows and the quietest hotel stay I ever had. I was very impressed. Water pressure in the shower was excellent, as was the piping hot nature of the water. As for the breakfast, while I didn't partake, it seemed adequate. Beyond these, refinement in various areas is needed: Mattress: Clearly showing its age and due for replacement. There was a prominent slant to the side that I've not encountered in dozens of hotel stays. I slept okay, but it could have been better, Service: The person checking me in was extremely kind, welcoming, and a total professional. The person checking me out, however, had a bit of "I don't really want to be here" in her attitude. Understandable, but not great. Housekeeping: This should have been daily, but the team apparently missed my room. Coming back after being out past midnight to find the bed hadn't been made was less than fun. Hockey in the shower: While there is a mat in the bath, as the soap ran towards the drain it became terrifyingly slippery. Add the lack of a grab bar, and I showered in terror of being wheeled out naked by EMTs. Sorry for putting that image in your mind. It didn't help things that the drain was slow. Bathroom door: the gap between the door and door frame was such that a mild pull would open a locked door. Non-issue when staying alone, but the fact remains. Bathtub: showing its age, as some of the glaze had worn off. Alarm clock: Kaput. Noise: There was no noise coming from the street. However, despite being on the top floor, there were occasional loud thumps! These were few and far between, but if you're not in the same room, YMMV.

We literally had to spray the entire room with Lysol just to get the smell and the bacteria out of that room I don't know what the last guess did in the room but nothing would surprise me considering we found used condums inside the bed pull out couch we Lysol sprayed that couch bed 3 times just to be safe. The bathroom was not so great either the vent fan didn't even work it was literally painted over the despite multiple requests maintenance just completely ignored us. At some point during our stay they started doing renovations to the rooms which included replacing the tvs we didn't know when they were coming to our room, we went out one day and came back to a new tv which I did not care for because the color was much worse than the old one was, and also my credit card was stolen they also did not notify us with a 24 hour notice they were coming to our room to switch out the tv, my mother is a stage 4 cancer patient we were sent here by the American cancer society which I don't understand why they are sending cancer patients here it is not the proper hotel for cancer patients at all they can't even keep the place clean the hallway literally went weeks without being vacuumed, I saw a cleaning lady sweep out a room full of dirt into the hallway and just left it there, I mentioned it to the manager among other complaints but she didn't seem to care about anything but money she even messed up our bill a few times some how. There was literally a room called trash room with a room just full of smelly trash and we also found trash in the back door hallway just sitting there a long with some drug attics sitting outside the door at night and the next morning I was taking my own trash out from our room and saw a used needle sitting outside the exterior door good thing I was looking and didn't step on it. They also went days without maintaining the trash in the front lobby and outside the front entrance both cans were just sitting there with trash overflowing to the ground. We paid thousands of dollars to stay there but yet they can't keep the place clean, no one is barely at the desk at all times, laundry for the bedding wasn't being done so we had to wait all day to extchange our bedding, because the overnight guy doesn't do his job, the housekeeper doesn't do her job she is just plain lazy. What the heck are we even paying for if nothing is being done. I am demanding all of my money back because they do not deserve it that place is a complete dump and screw that Genral Manager Chester for saying he didn't give a shit about my Mom having cancer that is completely out of line and unnecessary and American Cancer society needs to end this partnership with this location. I hope I get all my money back!
