Stayed here for business for 1 night. It was cheaper compared to any other hotels found in downtown or north. It took about 1 hour by car from the airport on a Tuesday late afternoon. Pros: -Large parking lot in front with plenty of open spaces -Mini market/gas station right next door -Room was somewhat spacious and clean Cons: -Long walk from elevator to end of hallway -Shower had an unpleasant odor -Gym had no water cups for the cooler -Outside doors attached to hotel did not work, entrance has to be through the lobby -No lids available for coffee cups from breakfast The hotel has an older feel to it and it seems like they are cutting corners to save on cost. Staff at front desk were rude. Very short and demanding in payment, signing and gave no greeting or instruction when we arrived. The bathroom and sleeping area had black mold all over the ceiling, closet door was completely off track (which could have been dangerous if we didn't recognize this) A set of guests were arguing very loudly in their room, hallway, and outside our room window during the night and no staff assisted to ensure other guests were able to sleep. Flew into Boston late due to a delayed flight in New Orleans. Stayed with Comfort Inn for two nights and was very satisfied. It's an older Comfort Inn that could use some updates and renovation, but the staff was all super friendly, accommodating, and willing to go out of their way for recommendations and assistance. Couldn't have asked for better! Can't go wrong with their continental breakfast and free wifi! Would certainly return should we visit again. read more

I had a snafu renewing my room for the entire weekend while attending a conference, and to my surprise and delight, the staff had merely left my room available when I returned. The good: the sausage from breakfast The bad: The coffee machine was missing a part, and one of the plugs at the desk was not working. The ugly: I had the biggest problem with the reservation process. I called the hotel hoping to make a reservation, and when I told the front desk that I'm with a wedding block I got directed to the reservation line. There, they told me that they could not give me the special block rate; only the front desk could do that so I had to call back. I made my reservation. I waited for a couple days to get my confirmation email, and upon failing to get it, called back to check on the status of my reservation. Turns out the reservation was incorrect (1 night instead of a 2 night stay), so I called back to correct it, along with my name that was spelled incorrectly on the reservation (presumably leading to the lost email). And in that conversation I experienced horrible attitude on behalf of the front desk who couldn't spell my name initially (after many iterations on my end) and then defended herself by saying that it wasn't important to have my name spelled correctly anyway. After this, I was put on hold for a long long time, and though eventually my name's spelling was corrected and my reservation confirmation arrived in my inbox, I wished to speak to the manager about this incidence. It turns out that a friend also independently experienced horrible service while trying to make a reservation. While the reservation part fortunately didn't impact the rest of my stay too much (aside from the malfunctioning coffee machine and plug), it tells you something about the service attitude of some of their staff. read more

I've left a slightly below average rating primarily due to the price of this hotel vs. value offered. Simply put, you could likely do better elsewhere. I was here on business for 4 nights the second week in August. The bed and bedding was comfortable and the room was OK cleanliness wise. Breakfast was -meh-, scrambled eggs and sausage each and everyday? C'mon now, you can do better than that. Thankfully the free wifi was the highlite. It worked well with easy hookups. As has been stated elsewhere, There just isn't anyplace to eat close by. The restaurant next door is closed. You can go to Braintree, several miles away to find a good selection of places or into Randolph itself, again several miles away to find food. There was no ice machine that I could find nor vending machines. The areas where those are supposed to be located were vacant. The parking area on one side of the building seemed to be some sort of staging area for Mega Bus's. They were doing maintenance at night on some of them. All in all, there's nothing memorable to mention about this hotel. I got a discount price of $170 a night and that was way too high for the service and accomodations I received. read more

There weren't much options with a late reservation to get as close to Boston without spending too much for one night but luckily managed to get a room at Comfort Inn before they got completely booked. Unfortunately, was only able to get a single King when I needed a double. The front desk never got back to me with the rollaway bed and I didn't seek to harass them further about it. The price seemed a little high for a Comfort Inn but it was half the price of the ones available on Expedia closer to Boston. It wasn't too far from South Boston so it was fine. There WAS a smell noticeable but it didn't completely deter us. Free Continental breakfast from 7-11 AM on the weekends and it was decent! Try not to be so picky, it's FREE! They have waffle maker and scrambled eggs and sausage. There are adequate toasters for bagels and toast. Small options for cereal. Fruit, muffins, milk, coffee and juice were also available. The patrons were good. There seems to have been some non-professional sport event and a family reunion so it wasn't too rowdy. We did not eat in the area so unknown about those options. Overall, it wasn't a bad stay, good enough with kids. Free wifi, outdoor parking lot and an outdoor pool. read more

Was here this past weekend for a wedding at Lombardo's. I booked two rooms under room block. I arrived at the hotel at 2:35 just a little early and one of the rooms was ready but not on the floor with the rest of the people staying for the wedding. Kristin checked me into one of the rooms 20 minutes early and told me my other room would be ready at 3. I appreciated being able to get into one of my rooms early. It was the room my sister was going to be using with the king bed. I had two beds in my room which was not yet ready. I came back down to the front desk at 3:15 to get keys to my second room since now my sister and her bf had now arrived to get ready in their room. Kristin told me that my room was still not ready. I mentioned how it was after 3 which is their posted check in time and she told me I had arrived early. Which I acknowledged for the first room and she accommodated me 20 minutes early, but she was now late with my second room. She repeated to me again that earlier I was early and she had given me a room. Her attitude was horrendous and not hospitable for a person working the front desk. I asked when my room would be ready and she could not give me a time. She said instead that she could give me a room on the first floor. I declined because now everyone else staying for the wedding was on the fourth floor, my sister was on the second and I was going to get stuck on the first floor, which I did not find acceptable. I asked how she could accommodate me and she said she could give me keys to the dirty room so that when I returned from the wedding it would be all set, and that she was take $10 off for my inconvenience which she did not end up doing. I had to walk away from the front desk because I did not appreciate her tone and lack of ability to reason or find a friendly medium. She seemed overwhelmed frustrated and had no patience. If she is management I suggest she gets additional training. There was a lady there earlier on the day who was standing with her that was much friendlier and patient. I believe her name was Dominique. At 4:30 my parents arrive and stopped by the front desk to see if my room was ready yet. Again there was nothing on the fourth floor and they were given keys to a room on the second floor, a few rooms down from my sister. There was black hair between the sheets of my bed but at this point I had no desire to call the front desk and ask for new sheets because of the attitude I was sure Kristin would give me. Later that night upon returning from the wedding at the front desk was Mackenzie who was incredibly friendly and helpful when trying to help up find somewhere to get late night food. read more

Entering the establishment was simple and easy enough. There is a restaurant there normally that happened to be closed down for whatever reason until further notice. I wish there had been a notice online when I made my reservation. Once on the fourth floor, I could smell cigarette smoke pretty strong even though I saw only non-smoking rooms. Oh well. Once I entered my room, I noticed a pretty strong smell, hard to explain but it was not pleasant. I opened the bathroom door an immediately I could tell where the smell was coming from. The sink was full of what looked like dried vomit (and another closer peek with a hand over my nose and mouth, showed dried pieces of food). It was dark brown and had clearly been there a while, smelling up the entire room. Disgusting. I immediately called down to the front desk to explain the situation with a sink covered in a very smelly brown vomit-looking mixture and asked if someone could come clean it or I could be moved. She said she'd have someone come bring me a new room key and that she will put in an order to have it cleaned. That's it. No apology, no horror at the thought of a guest now thinking they don't clean their rooms or having a bad experience, nothing. I was just told to hold on. After about 5minutes I find that the smell is really grossing me out and I can't stay in that room any longer. I have the bathroom door shut but it still filled the room. I prop open my front door with all my bags and wait in the hallway. Now it's been about 15-20 and I'm still waiting for a key. I load all my bags onto myself in the elevator and head to the lobby. Once I'm there, the lady (D) tells me that she sent someone up so now I'll have to wait for them to come back down. Fine. I explain to her I'm sorry I couldn't stay in that room any longer the smell was too much, to which she replied, "Oh that's fine." Wow, she doesn't even care. I've worked in customer service for years and I've never seen someone not care so much about a product they were presenting to their customer or even try to ensure customer satisfaction. I knew right then and there I would never be back, and I seriously wanted to leave but I was on a tight schedule. I ask her if there is a luggage cart I can use to bring all my stuff. She at first look at me like she doesn't know what I'm asking, and even repeats it to me "A cart?" Yeah. A cart. "Oh, well, we do have them but people use them and then don't bring them back." Um okay... She continues, "They're in rooms right now, but I do have a list of where they are so I guess I could ask someone to go room to room and find one for you..." She clearly does not want to do that. At this point it is clear I won't be getting any help here and I know I would have to wait a lot longer for a cart so I suck it up. My key arrives, fourth floor five rooms down from my vomit room. Great, lets head back. Once I'm finally in the room I thoroughly check for cleanliness. Later I realize that there is no "Do not Disturb" sign in the room for me to place out, (I thought I saw one earlier but it was the one hanging from the door to my old room) so now I know I will most likely be woken up in the morning. Great. I then search the room for wifi instructions, since I was given none at check-in. I find them and follow the steps on the card. It does not say anything about needing a password which is necessary. I call down to the front desk and she informs me. I personally feel that that information should have been provided upon check-in, but I guess not. My last issue was the morning of my check-out. When I made my reservation at this hotel it clearly states "check-out: 12pm. So then why was someone banging on my door at 1048am? Well, I do not know. I replied loudly "no, thank you" and the knocking persisted. Once I answered, a lady asked me when I was leaving, to which I replied "Today. Isn't check-out at noon?" "No 1100, that's only if you request late check-out. So if you want to stay until then, you'll have to call down to the front desk and request it." Um okay. Weird that my reservation doesn't say anything about that but I tell her I will call down. I do and then I settle in once more. Less than 15 minutes later I get another knock. By now, I'm irritated. I've heard the workers hollering up and down the hallway for the last hour and I'm just trying to relax after a long night. I answer the door and a different lady is standing there asking me if I was leaving soon. I explain that I already talked to someone and that I have late check-out. At this point, it's not even worth staying longer. I start to pack up and I can clearly hear someone knocking on a door a few down from me and saying "Hey when are you leaving!?" Incredible. Way to make your guests feel welcome and unrushed. It is barely after 1100. I check-out downstairs uneventfully. Worst hotel experience of my life. Here are the list of problems I faced. 1. I had asked for an infant crib at the time of reservation and called a week prior to arrival to remind the front desk of this request, since we were arriving late and would likely have a sleep deprived infant. But guess what! The front desk told me they were looking for a crib when I arrived, and managed to get one 2 hours later! 2. Housekeeping - this was the worst experience I've ever had. Of the 8 days I stayed, the room was cleaned only 4! Why? Apparently, according to the front desk, they come only once to clean the room, and if at that point you are in the room (or have a do not disturb sign on), they don't come back that day! It's almost absurd and never heard of - even in cheaper hotels! And, to add insult to injury, the days when the did clean the room, they forgot to replenish toiletries on two days and on one day they forgot to empty the trash. 3. The toilet paper holder had come off the cabinetry and had exposed nails. Normally, I would ignore this, but we had a toddler with us! I called the front desk and they said they'd take care of it, but they didn't! I had to call again the next day and finally someone showed up. 4. The breakfast bar was a nightmare - crowded and not well stocked. Things ran out an hour before the breakfast bar closed. While the kitchen staff was polite, they seemed incompetent. The least I expect is to have the kitchen bar stocked till breakfast time is over. 5. The JIT lounge and sports bar was closed. The nearest restaurant was a mile away (unless you wanted to eat dunkin donuts sandwiches or stuff from the gas station next door)! Pretty lousy to not let customers know of this on the website. 6. When I called the front desk for their complementary transport to pick up food (since the sports bar was closed), they rudely informed me that they didn't have it and could call a cab for me! This, despite there being a shuttle service advertised on your web site. I can see why this place is not being maintained. The surrounding area is pretty sketchy and it's in a poorer neighborhood of Boston. But to treat your customers like this is unacceptable. I will never stay at a comfort inn again. My room smelled like a smoking room. I had two other co-workers staying in the hotel as well, and both of their non-smoking rooms smelled like smoke too. In the morning I use the bathroom to get ready and I notice there is already hair there. hair that isn't mine. On the floor, in the sink, stuck to the walls of the shower. The sink also had toothpaste spit on it. This room was dirty, and it was so obvious that I didn't bother to complain to management. I figured that this is their standard of clean, and its just the way they do things at this hotel. Never again. read more

Lamar greeted us and was very friendly and helpful. It also snowed over a foot and when we woke up we were pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel shoveled everyone's cars out. This has been a nightmare booking 3 rooms starting back on June 20. I am not sure that corporate and the hotel itself communicate with each other at all! I was told the only availability was rooms with king sized beds. I asked that ONE ROOM be either on the first floor or located near an elevator for my handicapped elderly parents. I called a few weeks later to add a room, miraculously they had 2 rooms with 2 queen sized beds available. The reservations was Revised to reflect 2 kings and 2 queen rooms. AGAIN, I asked that ONE ROOM be either on the first floor or located near an elevator for my handicapped elderly parents. 3 days prior to check in date I called the hotel directly to confirm. They did NOT have 4 rooms booked for us only 3 rooms and no rooms with 2 queen sized beds. I was told 1 room would be a king sized bed with a pullout which was fine. And ONCE AGAIN there was no note reflecting that ONE ROOM be either in the first floor or located near an elevator for my handicapped elderly Finally we check in. . YET AGAIN no note in reservation regarding 1 room being near elevator. They were finally able to accommodate them near the entrance on the first floor. However, the door was open most of the day due to the construction and renovation. The hallway was hot as an oven and there was a lot of commotion going on. I was given a room on the disastrous 4th floor, it was under renovation and smelled like paint so bad that you felt high & got a headache. Room was supposed to have 2 queen beds in it. IT DID NOT!! I called the front desk and was told I had to come down and get the keys to the new room. I told him I was late getting ready for a party I was having and wanted one to brought up to me. He told me he "was to busy and it would be a while before he could bring a new key up"!! read more

Traveling with work and staying in over 85 hotels within the past fiscal year i found the staff in this hotel to be very pleasant and overall would recommend this hotel to all (family and budget) conscious individuals staying for vacation and or for business. People were yelling, kids are screaming at all hours every night. They need thicker doors. The doors between rooms are also quite thin, so you know what your neighbor is doing. I was a little frustrated by my experience at this hotel. I have had many good experiences with Choice Hotels in the past, but this hotel just did not live up to my standards. First, my room smelled unbelievably awful. To be perfectly honest, it smelled like stale urine was all over everything. It made me nauseous. When I asked to be moved, I was told I was being given the same type of room (king sized bed) but when I walked in, it was 2 doubles. They advertise that they are 2 queens, but they are most certainly not. It was just me in the room, so it wasn't exactly the end of the world, but it was very frustrating to be told one thing and get something completely different. Next, I went to sign into the free WiFi. I could not find a log in ID and password in any of the materials the desk gave me or in the booklet in the room. I called downstairs and asked about it. The guy at the desk told me that they (read: he) should have given me one when I checked in, but must have forgotten. I could come down and get one if I wanted. Please keep in mind I had already been down there to check in and then to get out of my horrific room. I also mentioned that I was not given a new King room, to which he replied that it was all they had. When I asked why he would tell me I was getting a king, he had no real response. All-in-all, my new room was fine, typical for this level hotel. Internet was fine, breakfast buffet was alright. In-house restaurant is meh, but good for a cocktail. But the awful first room I had truly disgusted me and the blase attitude of the hotel staff was annoying and frustrating. We stayed in the Comfort Inn Randolph, MA for three days last week. The hotel was clean, convenient location to restaurants & train station into Boston. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful with local knowledge for out of townwers. 24 hour coffee in lobby, and a pretty good breakfast. A special thanks to "Gyrell" very pleasant helpful young man at the front desk, helped us with directions, and gave us a nice upgrade in our room, since we had some difficulties with previous hotel experiences on our 2 week New Englant road trip. I asked for a room on 1st floor. Was told there were none. Went to my room. Asked for mini-fridge. Went looking for ice. All machines were broken. Went to lobby. After some time, was given ice. Asked again for fridge. Got to room. Fridge did not work and was full of someone else's smelly food. 3rd floor was being remodeled. Stair wells smell like paint. Exterior, hallway door was continually propped open for workers-not secured with key card. Construction was going on, above my head with drilling, until about 8PM. Had returned to lobby for something and overheard desk clerk ask person checking in if they wanted 1st floor. I said I was told there were no 1st floor rooms. She replied that not for what I paid. I did pay $200 for a very mediocre/poor experience. Hairdryer in bathroom broken. Front desk clerk was very pleasant, even though she told me no room on 1st floor for me. I would give these jerk-wads a ZERO rating if it was possible! On Sunday Apr first I brought an acquaintance there who needed a place for the night. She had called ahead and was told they had a room available for $160. But when we got there and she wanted to pay in cash, they told her that they would need an extra $40 as a security deposit. She was about $20 short and rather then give her the $20 in cash and having her spend all the cash she had, I very generously paid for the entire room for her using my credit card. Big mistake!! Well, you know what that say, no good deed goes unpunished! When I checked my bank account the next day I saw the charge for the room AND an additional charge for $250!! When I asked them about it they claimed that she had smoked in the room, something I had NO control over! When I protested this charge to their dip-wad supervisor I was basically told "too bad dude, you paid for the room, you're responsible". But had she actually paid in cash they only would have been able to collect the extra 40 bucks! Instead these assholes are trying to extort another $250 out of me!! And you KNOW all they were going to do was open the windows for a few hours and spray the place with some Febreze!! These people are little more than sleaze bags looking to take advantage of the situation!! I would NEVER stay at a Comfort Inn EVER again and I would NEVER recommend this establishment to ANYONE!!
