I took my Jeep JK to another shop for a check engine light. It was an evap leak, but they couldn't find where it was coming from. I ended up wasting a lot of money and time at the other place. Harry and his crew really know what they're doing. They found exactly where the evap leak was and fixed it. No guessing and chasing ghosts like the other shop. And if you've ever worked on cars before, you can immediately tell that Harry know his stuff from years of hands on experience. Would absolutely recommend to anyone that off-roads, not only Jeepers. read more

Absolute and outstanding mechanic!!! Honest, diligent, goes above and beyond to ensure solid work and cost! I took in an old Jeep Cherokee for a pre purchase inspection and his detail, and Q&A with me and the seller was phenomenal ! He took the time to ask and eval if I was buying an daily driver, off-road vehicle or both and costs were all up front from his range to actual. He was clear if he wasn't sure and if a part cost would change pricing. He do that all over the phone and followed it up with pictures and an email quote. I won't speak to this being a daily practice /process for each car. However, Harry and teams integrity is unquestionable. I will use him any chance I can and hope ALL those looking for a solid (4x4) mechanic use him. At least call or go for an estimate!! read more

Harry took care of an alignment on my lifted Tacoma that was on the edge of needing more aftermarket suspension components to achieve a usable alignment but got the job done and 3000 miles later still very happy with the outcome. Definitely above average shop as far as knowledge and practice in this department. Very reasonable price and turnaround time in the shop. Would recommend read more

Their prices are fairly high and the worker isn't interested in hearing what work you want. He's too busy telling you what he thinks you should do. read more

The team at Shepherd's was great; extremely helpful and super knowledgeable; great bang for your buck! Went out of the way to get me squared away! Could not be more pleased. read more

Made a nice little skid plate for my car and beefed up the radiator support from a previous underbody strike. Harry the owner is a nice guy and very knowledgeable. read more

Brought my V8 4Runner 4WD here as the OEM struts and shocks were due for replacement. Harry was very helpful in giving me options for what my needs were. I decided to go with Bilstein 5100s for maintaining daily driving comfort. Total price for parts and labor was very fair. The ride quality has improved dramatically. Harry and his guys even ripped out the old XREAS components, which many shops declined to offer. Highly recommend coming here for suspension upgrade or general truck/SUV maintenance. read more

Highly recommend Shepard's! I have a very sentimental early 90s Explorer that sat for several years partly because it was hard for me to find someone I could trust to work on it. I got a recommendation to give Shepherd's a try, and I'm glad I did! Every step of the way, Harry and his team at Shepard's treated the car like their own. With great care, attention to detail, and thoroughness, they not only brought it back to life, but now have it running better than ever. Shepard's is also great at communicating. They sent me pictures and videos of the progress, and are always very responsive. I also really enjoy the shop's open door policy. It allowed me to stop by and see the progress in person, give feedback, ask questions, and hear explanations without ever feeling rushed or like I wasn't welcome. Shepard's was also very honest and trustworthy. After sitting for so long I was convinced it needed a total rebuild. But instead of taking my word for it or upselling me, they took the time to check everything and told me about the parts that were still in good condition or only needed minor repairs instead of replacing. Overall, I am very happy I gave Shepherd's a shot. I'll definitely be back. read more

I recently took my 2004 Tacoma in for service and both Harry and Sam were very knowledgeable and trustworthy. As a woman, it's very hard to find a good and honest mechanic. They both took the time to explain the issue, answer my questions and kept me in the loop every step of the way. 10/10 from my initial call up until the moment I picked up my truck! Harry was extremely thorough in explaining what he replaced and even educated me on how to check the fluids. Amazing customer service. I would definitely recommend this shop just alone for the quality of work and professionalism. Thank you Harry and Sam! read more

I took my 1989 Ranger here. Can honestly say these guys are looking after your best interest in terms of budget and quality. I'll be a continued customer. Highly recommend. read more

Been taking my '93 Mercedes 350GD to Harry for maintenance and upgrades and I've been extremely happy with the quality in his work. He's extremely knowledgeable and honest which I appreciate. He has earned my business and I'll be sure to continue using Shepard's for future maintenance and more upgrades. read more

Such great service, couldn't be happier! Got a maintenance light on my Mazda and put it off as long as I could(; I usually hate having to get oil changes. But I couldn't put it off any longer and luckily found Shepards on Yelp and got a quote immediately. Sam and Harry took care of me and got the job done so much faster than I could've imagined. My previous mechanic, who was awesome, closed up shop for general automotive due to Covid. I have been anxious about where to take my car (2000 Toyota Camry) when the time came for service. That time finally came recently. While on the road, white smoke (which turned out to be steam) started coming out from under the hood, then of course, the engine started overheating. Shepard's Automotive was local to me, so I decided to give them a go. BEST DECISION EVER!!! I had my car towed to the shop, and from that point, the fellow who took care of me, Sam, was absolutely awesome! I know nothing about cars, so I always feel that I am at the mercy of the mechanic. When Sam called me to let me know what the issue was, he was very friendly, VERY patient with my many questions and concerns, and EXTREMELY knowledgeable. He really took care to insure that I understood everything that was being said to me, explaining what was wrong, what the cause was, what my car needed, why it needed it, the cost for everything mentioned, and the estimated time needed for the work. After our conversation, I felt completely comfortable with giving him the greenlight to proceed with the repairs. Sam kept me in the loop during each stage of the repairs. The service was very timely, and the cost of the parts and work was super reasonable. When I picked up my car, finally met Sam face-to-face, and he gave me the final run-down, I found that he really went above and beyond my expectations! I could not have been more pleased!!! It's almost two months later, and my car is running like a dream! I am very happy to say that I have found my new "go-to" mechanic!!! And I really want to thank Shepard's for making a typically stressful situation a surprisingly wonderful and satisfying experience. God Bless! read more

Awesome guys. They do great work, been taking my 80 series here for regular maintenance and upgrades for the last year

Amazing work! I had the guys put a lift and bigger tires and new wheels on my Bronco. Their work was excellent, very reasonable pricing, and their expertise was invaluable. When I called looking for a quote they were super helpful and recommended I add upgrading my tie-rods while putting the lift and wheels/tires on, it was so helpful to have their expert opinion and help guide me to do the work correctly. They have a customer for life in me and I will continue to use them as I continue to upgrade my Bronco! read more

I Went to this car service located on 2524 W. Main St. in. Alhambra, to have an oil change for my car. I am a senior woman. And I have to write my thanks and 'review' on Harry, the mechanic, who did the service for me! He was not only very courteous and professional but very kind & respectful towards me because of my age. He was diligent performing what was needed, honest charging only for what was done, advising me of something that probably would need care, but was not necessary right away and he would keep an 'eye' on it for next time servicing my car. All in all, I was very impressed and grateful to find someone in this time and age, caring, responsible, and ethical in that type of business. I want to recommend Harry and his place of business without hesitation!! read more

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! If you're looking for a trustworthy place and honest people, these are the guys you're looking for. A lot of my colleagues get their cars checked here so I thought I'd give it a try as well. I was very impressed. They are very accommodating and polite people. My only dislike is how my wheel feels dirty after they drive it, but I understand... They work with their hands, I can't complain. read more

I called one day around 1230 and asked if I could bring in my car in. Eric said they were a bit busy and asked if I could bring it in the following week. I explained to him that my brakes were making loud noises and I just felt a bit scared as it's been getting louder the past few weeks. (I know terrible on my part) but Eric told me to bring in the car and that he would make time to check it out. I get a phone call the next day saying it was ready for pick up. Wow!! Super fast service, super honest guy, great work. I'll definelty be coming back for my AC service needs!! read more

Took my special edition 2003 Mazda Miata in for an oil check. Mechanic opened hood and made a quick diagnose, the oil leak was coming from the oil pan, and my radiator was also cracked. I didn't see any cracks. labor for oil leak, $1000.00, plus parts and replace radiator approximately $700.00. Decided on second opinion, got that from across the street. Asked for quote to fix same leak. labor here was $500.00, but before accepting work, they lifted car to determine exact location. After a thorough search, they found no leak. They explained it's an older car that isn't regularly used and they tend to leak. As long on the leak is minor, which it was, I shouldn't concerned. Having gotten 2 different opinions, I then got a third, fourth, and finally a fifth. The next three all agree with the second opinion. It's an old car that isn't used every day with a minor leak, no problem it's perfectly normal. Always better to get a second opinion!!! read more

We have been going to Dave Shephard for about a year now with our 2017 Traverse. Dave is knowledgeable, caring, very honest, dependable and reasonably priced. My dad originally brought my car here a few months back for a new air filter and windshield wipers. I was skeptical at first as I always like to go to the dealer or trusted the old mechanic here " Miwa Automotive". Today I brought my car in again for an oil change and to change my transmission fluid. TOTAL cost $115.00!!! Sooo reasonable and great service once more! My car was also ready earlier than anticipated which I was grateful for and appreciative of! I'll definitely be returning and recommending people here so long as service, prices, etc stay the same! My car was giving me trouble and as someone who knows nothing about cars I was a bit frightened to take my vehicle in to a repair shop. Let me tell you the guys at Shepard's were nothing but patient and transparent the entire time. Harry not only diagnosed the problems on my car but was nice enough to make a list for me where he noted what the priority of each issue was. I was surprised by this since usually I would expect a shop to try and sell as much as possible, but it is evident these guys value honesty above anything. There is no doubt in my mind where I will be going from now on with any car needs and I highly recommend this shop to anyone reading. I would give 10 stars if I could. read more

Shepard's is the most trustworthy auto repair shop I have ever had the privilege of visiting. Everyone there not only treats you like family, they make sure to let you know exactly what's needed to solve your problem, and never charges you a cent more than what's absolutely fair. If anything, they're generous to a fault. I love these guys and will keep coming back to them no matter how far I have to travel to see them! This is the fourth time I or my mom have been here. Nice people that do good work for a fair price. I recommend them. They fixed the minor oil leak on my 2001 Honda with out charging an arm and a leg.
