I was surprised at how much good quality inventory this shop has. We went there three times while on vacation. The store is absolutely enormous and they have everything you could possibly want as souvenirs. They have a very large selection of t shirts which I really appreciated since I like unique shirts that are more on the fitted side. They have lots of shells, jewelry, Christmas ornaments, magnets, bottle openers, and so much more. Also great that they are located so close to the Mariners club (where we were staying) and that there is parking and doors on both sides of the highway to accommodate travelers on either side of Hwy 1. If I am ever in the keys again, I will not forget to stop here. read more

I was looking forward to stopping by Shell World. I can shop with the best of them but disappointed. Allie was probably the rudest salesperson at a store I've ever encountered. She shouldn't be consumer facing or work with customers. She was especially rude to children which is ironic for a place which I think would cater to families. I watched one family walk out after she harassed their children. There was a cute toy section for kids and lots of shells. Items were overpriced. You can get the same thing at Marshall's or discount stores for much less. read more

Shell World is a fantasy straight out of Spongebob Squarepants. Every imaginable knick-knack involving a shell or the sea is here. On our drive down to Key West, I saw the bright paint and shell mobiles and I knew we had to stop here on our way back to Fort Lauderdale. We did and it was magical! You can easily spent 30 minutes to hour in here perusing. The gifts aren't all chintzy either. There is some really nice home decor and apparel in the south end of the building whereas the cat made out of seashells that I bought was on the north end. Definitely worth a stop! read more

My go to souvenir shop! The one in the center near MM 96 (not sure the exact MM) us huge and has something for everyone! Windchimes: shell, metal and wood; jewelry both fine and costume. When we moved to Key Largo I was so excited to visit this store. The first few times we visited, it was a huge success and I even got a local's discount card. Well, today turned out different. Took our son and daughter here to shop the day after Christmas, and use my discount card. My son made a purchase and the local discount was applied. My daughter makes a purchase and I hand them the card for the discount but she said I had to pay, not my daughter. So my daughter hands me the cash and the "worker" makes an annoyed sound and I ask if there's a problem. She insisted that it's a problem that my daughter handed me the money and began to argue with me and my daughter. Needless to say, we got the last word but the worker shouldn't be allowed to work in a store geared toward tourists and the locals but we're treated like garbage. Very unfortunate that this worker is allowed to work with the public at a well known store. Lessons in customer service would be beneficial to her. For a tourist stop this is probably a store that prices their merchandise pretty fairly. Nothing here is priced bad at all. The apparel is of good quality and funny. I definitely like the "Old guys rule T-shirts" and the themes that T-Shirt company uses. I'm not that old, but I was close to buying one that cracked me up. The small trinkets are inexpensive and the stickers, that I place on my guitar case, were ridiculously priced low. I appreciated that a lot. I think the value of the stickers I placed on my guitar case has drastically superseded the cost of my guitar case tenfold. It's good to find ninety-nine cent stickers once awhile. Shell World also has (duh) shells. I don't know the value of shells, but if you guys see one in the waters, pick it up and bring it home. Shells, I guess, cost a small fortune. read more

We recently visited the store. It was clean and had such a variety of things. Prices were very reasonable. I had seen a dress and did not purchase it. I called a week later and spoke to a wonderful sales person Danielle. She was so helpful, took the time to email me pictures to make sure what she found was in fact what I wanted. This place is fantastic! If you need souvenirs or home decor it betts the job done. The staff is outstanding, very helpful and very knowledgeable regarding what they have in stock. As a local I'm very disappointed I've waited this long to come through. If you're a first time visitor or a native that's driven by 100 times it's worth stopping in. This is the first time I visited Shell World and certainly NOT the last time. I had driven past it many times but never stopped. Oh my God, I loved, loved this store. It is definitely one of my favorite stores. It has everything you can think of. I spent about 45 minutes wondering throughout the store, but that was because my husband was with me, otherwise I could've easily stayed for another hour or so. In fact, I told my husband the next time, he can stay back at the house and I'll go by myself. I ended up buying a few gifts and picked up some cute things for me as well. This place is amazing. Me and husband just came back from vacation in key largo and went to shell world with our family on our way to lunch. We walked in shell world thinking we would be in and out quickly. Between 8 of us there ..we spread out quickly. This place has something for everyone. I went straight to their accessories. My husband got many t -shirts. We got many gifts for our friends back home in NYC. By the end our whole family walked out with huge bags. But when I got back to hotel I realized I lost my gold earring I was wearing. It was my fav. I called shell world to check in case they found it. I had no hope since this store is HUGE and I was leaving for NYC the next day. They took down my name and number and told me if they come across my ear ring they would call me. Sure enough next day while I was getting in my flight I get call from them saying they found my earring and they would mail it to my house in NYC. I was so happy. Just got the earring back. They even wrapped it nicely. So thankful!! Highly recommend this place. read more

My wife and I stopped into Shell World while visiting the Upper Keys. I'm not a shopper, and I usually steer wide of souvenir stores, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of merchandise in Shell World. It's not Neiman Marcus in Key Largo, but it's far from E-Z Eddie's Junk-2-Go, which is standard for a lot of souvenir shops. We bought a couple nice shirts to acknowledge our week in The Keys. We might've bought a few more items, but modern air travel made that a no-go. read more

I had stopped to Shell World to look at the shells and purchase a sharks tooth necklace. Their was a blond lady that works their which by the way she conducted herself was not in a good mood. I tried to make small talk with her regarding the weather and she got snappy and walked off. The store was completely dead; no customers what so ever. IF you have customers coming in to make purchases should you not make their experience as pleasant as possible to make them want to come back. Needless to say I will not be returning to Shell world and she is going to continue being in a bad mood because of the heat I don't see it getting cool anytime soon. Very disappointing. read more

My Wife and I take a break in the Keys a few times a year. It is always great to stop and take a break from the drive. We always have stopped by Shellworld in Key Largo. Great tropical décor and great prices. I've stopped by to purchase shells for my fish tanks and so much more. Recently, found some Dan Mackin art prints. Love them all, but only bough a few. Love Wyland and Mackin. Sales folks were very nice. Easy in and out. No hassles. Never been to the other southern location until last month. Geez...... This is a bigger store... Lots of fun in the cool A/C on the drive back up. Artwork, treats, gifts and so much more. Very helpful staff.... don't have any names for you though.... Doesn't matter. Just a fun place to shop. Expect to spend a half hour walking through all the goodies. I thought it would just be a few minutes. WRONG. Service was quick, but me and my wife were not.
