Literally one of the last shops before leaving the upper keys, I stumbled on Largo Cargo during today's day trip when I saw their roadside shark sculpture! At first I thought it was just a spot for a quick picture but noticed it is an actual store. I was able to find a few fridge magnets to bring to friends. But did you know what else I found? A talking pirate! (Well actually a very talented animatronic one with all the puns; I think there was even a mother-in-law joke in there :) The attendants were very pleasant and helpful with locating my "loot". I believe they also sell shirts and swimwear if you were to forget while heading TO the Keys. I would definitely recommend!

It has a little bit of everything -- more jewelry and clothes and souvenirs than shells. How they can keep track of the inventory is daunting. Some of the prices are exceedingly high, but I guess it's cause it is a tourist area and they can get away with it. People on vacation are willing to pay more and the international tourists don't know any better. Yet, mixed in are some decent buys like the key lime juice and the Tortuga rum cakes and some cheapie bracelets. I walked the entire store -- it's about a block long with several check out counters. I got my exercise for the day. I'm not sure I'd recommend this place but you never know. You can certainly price check items to see how they stack up against other stores or you might just find the perfect souvenir of your trip.

Lobster Shack Cafe - Rain Barrel Village…read more Beautiful spot in the Keys with friendly staff and solid food quality. The seafood is fresh and the sandwiches are well-made. The manatee cafe vibe is perfect for the location. Worth stopping by if you're in the area. My one significant gap: if you have a dairy allergy, this isn't the place. Nearly everything on the menu relies on milk, cream, or cheese. I couldn't find a single non-dairy option, and the staff didn't have substitutions to offer. I know Key West locations nearby have dairy-free choices, so it's possible here too--just not on the menu or offered as an accommodation. That's a miss for an inclusive food business in 2026.

When I walked in the store I took a few pictures with my phone and was immediately accosted by a woman who curtly told me they don't allow pictures because of local artist not wanting their stuff copied. (I get that). Then she promptly stomped off and sat down behind the counter. She was very rude and snotty when she said it. And most of the stuff isn't from local artists. Sadly for her our party left and spent a few hundred dollars at Largo Cargo down the road. Not going to spend money in a place where someone is just mean. I feel like there must be something wrong with her. I mean why would you have a business in which you treat people so awful? If you can't be nice to your customers then get out of the business. She gives Key Largo a bad name. Thankfully there are other places where people are nice. I would take your money elsewhere
