Was looking for jellycats in keys while on vacation. Saw Shell World on the jellycat website as a reseller and we went en route to dinner. Omg not only did they have an amazing assortment of jellycats- including the current in season ones, but they had clothes and souvenirs, and home stuff and accessories. I could have spent half a day in here. The kids selection of toys and stuffies was impressive! The bathing suit coverups were so chic and the keychains and random touristy items was plenty. Kind of also like a craft bazaar too. I wish we went earlier as it closed at 7pm. Reminded me of multiple cute boutiques and a hallmark in one. Nothing like it nowadays to compare it. So many items to choose from! We stopped here for specific shells for a Halloween costume. We found the shells we wanted pretty quickly and then walked through the rest of the shop. It's much larger than we anticipated. They have plenty of gifts, souvenirs, shells, books, clothing, and more. Restrooms and check-out counters are available at both ends of the building. They had a friendly yet not so knowledgeable staff however it was very clean and super organized. it was a decent value considering it's a tourist trap. However, as soon as you enter, Key West is not a bad place to stop Or on the way out. Might even be better. But the place is gigantic so don't feel overwhelmed. read more

I'm going to be honest, me and my sister were really excited to come and check out some of the stuffed animals they have here. Upon arrival we walk in and there are 3 of the store associate at the register just standing around. Not like that's a problem but usually when you go into a high priced gift shop like this one, especially if you intend on spending money you would at the very least expect to be greeted when you walk in. It was extremely awkward since I walked in first waiting for my sister to get out the car, as I'm standing by the entrance on the inside waiting i was met with dead silence & awkward looks. I work and live here in the keys so I know from experience that, that is not the type of atmosphere we have down here. I'm not sure if it is because of their age or lack of common sense in the customer service industry but i was very displeased since I had been excited to visit this gift shop for a while. I highly suggest either finding new workers or giving them just the BASIC training in customer service, hell just tell them smile and wave or something ! The place is extremely expensive & when met with that attitude at the door, completely throws off the whole experience. Definitely won't be spending any money there nor would I ever send any friends there to shop. If anything I would HIGHLY SUGGEST THEY STAY AWAY!!! read more

As an avid shell collector I just can't resist stopping in these roadside souvenir shops and although there are tons of shells here there's definitely more, lots more. This ginormous everything tourist venue is filled with all those last minute gotta have it trinkets and nic nacs - for me it's my shell therapy one stop shopping center, although I rarely buy shells since I live by the ocean I do love to look at what nature has created and they almost always have penny smashing machines - maybe that my obsession combined with an irresistible urge for refrigerator magnets. Can you imagine fulfilling three of your compulsions in one place, that's a good day, the only thing missing here is a beer cooler, adirondack chair and an umbrella but no matter I still won the triple crown. To say this is a bargain outlet would be a lie, but I will say there are some bargains here if you can manage your emotions and look for them, although it's not an easy task with the massive inventory on display here but they do exist. I smashed (2) pennies for $1.02 and scored a cool refrigerator magnet for $4.99 and since the Keys aren't known for their shorelines filled with seashells and this place sells seashells by the seashore I may have to return to purchase a few. If your looking for that special gift for Aunt Martha there are lots of choices, heck you can buy sand here - now that's hilarious to me since I have to bang the sand off my flip flops before getting in the Jeep in their parking lot. Extremely touristy! But it's well organized, spotless, and appeared to have plenty of staff, although no one asked if I needed help at all. As touristy as can be. This massive gift shop is a must-do if you are traveling in or out of the Keys. It has a large inventory from apparel to Florida food items, from home décor to seashells. It might be a tad pricey, but it is worth it because of the location and convenience. I like coming here to just browse around and I always end up buying a few little trinkets. They have pretty cool merchandise. BTW, the mermaid section is my favorite. There is a clearance section way in the back, which is very easy to miss. 4 stars. read more

There were all sorts of products to purchase, from clothes to body scrubs. As a wonderful product placement, they have the Florida Sea Scrub tester in the bathroom for you to try. Hook, line and sink. I bought the $30 extra-large bottle, which was coconut mango scented. This product is something that I would highly recommend everyone to buy. It heals mosquito bites and many other ailments. Best price and largest bottle that I saw through all of the Keys. She went above and beyond, by assisting me with matching a ring and pendant from the cased jewelry. 1/2 a star taken, because none of the employees could find their selection of pens. Hubby is a pen guy. If he purchases nothing else, I guarantee you, he'll buy a pen or two or three (smile). read more

I must have driven by this place 1000 times but never stopped in for a visit. I always thought it was a tacky touristy souvenir place. My daughter wanted to go inside this last spring break so we did. I was shocked! While there definitely are some tacky souvenirs, there were also many beautiful coastal style home items. When I see a giant store with the name Shell World across the front I honestly think of when I was a kid and the souvenir shops full of seashells, tacky tourist t-shirts, shell covered jewelry boxes and more. This store, however, was gorgeous! Wonderful selection of coastal themed home décor, t-shirts yes- but name brand, nicer selection of shirts and hats, plenty of quality seashells and coral to choose from. Not to mention this store is HUGE! My goodness~ I lapped it 2x and fussed over lots of different things. Laughed at some adult themed kitchen towels (plenty of curse words), loved the different sections of the store featuring specific things! Flamingos- got a full display, sea turtles? Got that too. Palm, succulents and green décor- got it! Fish themed? Mermaid? You name it- there was a beautiful display that featured a bunch of exquisite merchandise. The far north wall was magnet central too! Kids section, baby section- they had something for everyone. I love the art, the wind chimes and the succulent candle holders made me come back 3 times! Super cute. Check out was easy.
