Been traveling to the Keys for over 20 years from Las Vegas. We've passed by Shell World dozens of times and never stopped. This trip we did! What a jewel the entire store is. Because of the assortment of items be purchased we've now redone our game room into the Florida room. The vibe is fun and beachy. I've painted two darkish green walls in two tones of Florida sky blue and just love where my mood takes me when I enter the room now. We have a bathroom I've had wall murals painted with pelicans so it all ties in. We have a ways to go to complete the look, but I adore my pelican collection and plan to add to it each visit to Hawks Cay on Duck Key when Shell World is a must stop for us!! read more

I like coming here for their huge selection on beautiful shells. Unlike other tourist shops selling an overload of bright souvenir shirts, this store offers a more refined inventory and has multiple accessories perfect for any member of the family. They do sell apparel as well which makes it a nice spot to pick up a beach coverup or a new towel. Plenty of trinkets and knickknacks line the aisles for decorations exuding the Florida Keys lifestyle. Aside from decorations, they also stock necessary beach items such as sunscreen and moisturizing lotions making it ideal for locals as well. There's plenty of parking on both sides of the store so accessing it won't be an issue. I love seeing their new furniture pieces every time I stop by. So many beach-y goodies! Shell World is such a fun spot. It is a very large store with endless beach-y, Keys-y goodies! They have shells (duh), jewelry, body lotions, furniture, apparel, knick-knacks, etc. So much to look at! The store is very clean and organized. Despite it being busy, the staff is always friendly and proactively helpful. I do find it to be quite a bit overpriced. Regardless, it's a nice spot to visit in the Keys. My husband and I spent 5 days at Playa Largo in October of 2018. I cannot forget Shell World! I loved it so much! If you're down in Key Largo and you're looking to stock up on your souvenirs then you need to check out Shell World. I swear to god, this place has roughly the square footage of a football field. Some of their stuff is super reasonable. Some is a little pricier. Some is understated and tasteful, and some is tacky. Bonus: They had a froggie band made out of shells and googlie eyes (in the tacky section) We bought the bulk of our souvenirs here after spending a week poking around in Key Largo. Shell World does a great job at making you think you need a dozen shells to take home. I mean... they are so cheap you'd be losing money if you didn't buy them, amiright? Much to the happiness of my husband, I skipped the shells and decided on a sweet mom/baby manatee stone sculpture (to remember the time when we kayaked with them in KL!) and a rad wreath of driftwood. Shells left, shells right, shells near and far! Decided to go out on a whim last night so we trekked it two hours South to Key Largo this morning. We've been in the area before but always with plans to go specific places. It's too bad we hadn't stopped here earlier, our living room and a couple of the bedrooms would have turned out quite different. First off, it's huge! You literally couldn't miss it if you tried. The second my girlfriend saw it she started yelling "pull over, pull over!" She loves a beach more than just about anyone I know so Shell World practically blew her mind. As if the name doesn't make it obvious...there's shells from all over the globe scattered throughout this large structure. Polished, sanded, cut, drilled, painted, shaped, and everything in between. I'm shocked I was able to get her out. She has to get ornaments from anywhere we go so this was a big win, they had some great ones! Nice, neat place with fair prices. I was surprised at how much good quality inventory this shop has. We went there three times while on vacation. The store is absolutely enormous and they have everything you could possibly want as souvenirs. They have a very large selection of t shirts which I really appreciated since I like unique shirts that are more on the fitted side. They have lots of shells, jewelry, Christmas ornaments, magnets, bottle openers, and so much more. Also great that they are located so close to the Mariners club (where we were staying) and that there is parking and doors on both sides of the highway to accommodate travelers on either side of Hwy 1. Key Largo hardy seems like a tourist destination for a native Miamian. I have always viewed it as a nice weekend trip to enjoy some boating and relaxation. However the recent college national championship in Miami booked all hotels in the area and my company was forced to relocate a meeting to the Key Largo Hilton. Since I had a lot of free time during my 4 day meeting I decided to go look for some souvenirs for the wife and kid. I had passed by Shell world probably 100 times back and forth from the keys but WOW was I impressed when I finally stopped by. First of all this place is HUGE. There are 2 stories filled to the brim with anything you could possibly think of. They have t-shirts, shells, clothing, home decor, paintings, kites, and any type of souvenir you can possibly think of. Awesome place to come if you are looking for beach-y Keys type decor. The best part is that prices are actually very reasonable for a tourist shop. I was able to buy a dress for my wife for $20, and a stuffed turtle for $10. This is definitely not your average tourist trap. I find this Shell World (MM 99) to have a better selection than the other location further north (MM106). This store is bigger and has more high end merchandise. I'll be definitely be stopping by here every time I head down US1 as this place is great. read more

I was looking forward to stopping by Shell World. I can shop with the best of them but disappointed. Allie was probably the rudest salesperson at a store I've ever encountered. She shouldn't be consumer facing or work with customers. She was especially rude to children which is ironic for a place which I think would cater to families. I watched one family walk out after she harassed their children. There was a cute toy section for kids and lots of shells. Items were overpriced. You can get the same thing at Marshall's or discount stores for much less. read more

When we moved to Key Largo I was so excited to visit this store. The first few times we visited, it was a huge success and I even got a local's discount card. Well, today turned out different. Took our son and daughter here to shop the day after Christmas, and use my discount card. My son made a purchase and the local discount was applied. My daughter makes a purchase and I hand them the card for the discount but she said I had to pay, not my daughter. So my daughter hands me the cash and the "worker" makes an annoyed sound and I ask if there's a problem. She insisted that it's a problem that my daughter handed me the money and began to argue with me and my daughter. Needless to say, we got the last word but the worker shouldn't be allowed to work in a store geared toward tourists and the locals but we're treated like garbage. Very unfortunate that this worker is allowed to work with the public at a well known store. Lessons in customer service would be beneficial to her.
