Misleading!!!! Says $4.35 if you pay cash. But in pen written that you cant see especially at night or bad weather, or in passing. You have to buy car wash. Billed us $4.85 for cash. Even their credit card $.50 per gallon. When credit card companies charge $1.95 or 3%. We're done here. Shell Gas has lost our business for trucks, boats and business. Unfortunately we are at Howe and Power Inn frequently due to Home Depot but Chevron is across the street. Till they pull this crap. read more

They cut the air pump themselves. It's been cut for a really long time. They are robbing people of their money. I spent $90 on gas I went to go out air in my tire the thing was cut off. I went in and asked for my $2 back. He looked at me like I was a joke. I said you really can't. They smiled at me and both shook their heads. He said it was a homeless person that did it. I said you guys knew it was cut off and there's no sign. He said they took the sign off of it. What?? even if it was a homeless person did it. It's not fair for them to not maybe tape caution tape next to it or make it noticeable that we can use it. It's not fair to put money in and can't use it. They are not good customer service and quite frankly I'll never be coming back. Also kinda interested in emailing people who are in cahoots with this location. How to stop this from being the case with so many people. Also if your a female this place is scary to be around truly. I have this placed flagged and will never attend again. I don't care if it's a penny to a dollar. What's right is right. If we can't use your services you should refund them when they are broken. It feels like false advertisement especially when they know about it. I know they do chargebacks. I am curious to how much money they made where they didn't actually give a service to the customer, this sounds like we can have a story here made to find out statistically how much shell gas stations voluntarily "rob"customers. I wanted to post this review because when one is in trouble/potential danger one would hope that a neighborhood business would do what they can to help. The men at the Shell station (2270 Fair Oaks Blvd.) were rude, pedantic, not helpful, and fine with my going out on the road in danger. Happily there are other some businesses that care and help when you need it (like Scott's Corner, Arden Village Repair, 4230 Arden Way). Explanation: Yesterday, driving down Fair Oaks Blvd. on a hot afternoon my car started loudly beeping with dashboard flashing "engine overheated"! My peaceful afternoon became fearful! I knew there was a Shell gas station about 1/12 mile ahead and managed to get to their auto service garage. One garage employee was working on another car. I waited until he finished to explain I was on the way to pick up children at school and my car situation. I confessed my nervousness (think I said "freaked out") and asked if he could put in coolant so I could get to the school on time. He opened the car hood seeing clearly that it was hot and under pressure. He told me to let the car sit for about 10 minutes to cool off and then he would check it out. He would not let me keep me car in front of the garage but told me to park on the side of the station, which I did for the next 10 minutes. When I brought the car back he told me to go inside to see "Grace". I went in and before I could ask about "Grace" the employee inside began lecturing me that I needed to do a full diagnosis (with examples of medical diagnosis) before they would do anything....on and on and on. He was rude and told me " just because I was having a bad day (ya think?) I shouldn't take it out on them". Basically, he required I have a full diagnosis on the car before they would even touch it. I was not happy and very concerned that I could not get safely to the school. Unfortunately, I told him what I thought about their business. With my fingers crossed, I drove another few miles to Scott's Corner gas station, Arden Village Service, where I pulled in by their garage and had a completely different reception despite the fact I was anxious. As earlier, the Scott's employee opened the car hood and carefully looked at the situation. He told me to let the car rest 10 minutes (as my previous direction) and I did so with my car sitting right in the same place despite the fact they were busy with other cars in the garage. After about 8 minutes, he carefully opened the car's well and filled it with coolant without a problem. He also said there was no charge for the coolant or his service. I was able to safely pick up the children and now have made an appointment to go back in a few days for them to repair the car. Thankfully, Scott's Corner proved there are good neighbor businesses in Sacramento. read more

I wish I could give negative stars!!!!! Beware of their so called fresh food n their shady accounting practices. We bought two "delivered fresh daily" donuts. They were HARD. My son bit into one n spit it out saying how stale n nasty it tasted. I went back in as I was pumping gas n I showed it to the lady at the register who argued with me n said the donuts were soft. She gave me attitude asking if I wanted my money back. I said yes n she asked for my receipt. I gave her what I had...which did NOT include a breakdown of what I paid for each item. She then proceeds to give me $2.50 but the donuts were $1.50 each. I was like wait hold on. $1.50 + $1.50 = $3! Not $2.50 She told me that it was on sale but bc my receipt didn't have a breakdown, I couldn't fight for the 50cents but whatever, it's not worth my time over half a dollar. My point is this: If they took even a few cents from every customer for every sale they made, that's called STEALING n they'd be making A LOT of MONEY THAT IS NOT RIGHTFULLY THEIRS. Why does YELP NIT HAVE a ZERO STAR ???? The VACUUM IS BROKEN. I spoke to the attendant, to let him know that the VaCUUUM was broken and to let him know that maybe they should put a sign up. Make sure you bring cash if you want the best price. This location is only convenient if you are traveling south on Power Inn or west on Folsom Blvd as it's a pain in the rear to get to it if you are going any other direction. Overall it's a typical Shell. Small convenience store, credit/debit available and fairly clean overall. read more

Waited in line to use car wash & then it wouldn't accept my payment method, so I had to back out of the maze & go somewhere else.

Bought a full tank of gas, and also paid $6.00 to go through the car wash. Got my receipt and drove over to the car wash, but it was out of order. So I parked my car and went inside to let the cashier know that I paid for a car wash along with my gas fillup, but that the car wash is out of order so I needed a refund for the amount I paid for it. He told me there was no way to refund me for the car wash because I paid with my debit card, not cash (what....??) and that I should "come back tomorrow" to use the car wash. Are you kidding me??? I prompted him several more times, letting him know I kind of wanted my car washed now, not tomorrow, which is why I paid for it, and was he SURE that there's no possible way to give me a refund...? He said no, come back tomorrow, and if it's not fixed by then the car wash code is good for 7 days so keep trying. Not cool! Won't be back. read more

Best Mexican food in Sacramento. I would drive from out of town to have the cabeza tacos with hot salsa, they are seriously amazing. The lady cooking is super sweet and friendly. Don't be shy just because it's a gas station, just go get some incredible food! read more

The high gas prices here seem unwarranted given the other gas stations in the general area, though they do have barbecue (though I'm not that impressed with it, don't think for a minute that it's like the Southern BBQ you get "in the South") and a car wash. read more

I've been coming to this shell since the summer of '89. Back then I was impressed by the selection of icee flavors and sour snacks. I have evolved since then, as have they. Now I frequent this shell when I have a hankering for barbq and need to fill up on flex fuel. I find the other review for this shell tasteless and disrespectful, quite like the reviewer. read more

About the little taco store... say away! My friend and I got something quick because we were in a hurry. The breakfast burrito has no egg and no cheese, and virtually no meat. It's a flour tortilla stuffed with potato. That's it. Just potato and maybe 8 or 10 tiny ham cubes. My friend's tacos looked so gross and smelled so rank that they followed my burrito into the trash. He didn't even want to taste one. I wish I could post a picture of this stuff. Seriously, you don't expect good food at a Shell station. We all get that. But no matter how much of a hurry you're in, do NOT buy the Mexican food. You have been warned! read more
