I think it's sage to say that the neighborhood folks miss the old owners (I know it's been a few years.... but still). I'm finally posting a review after hearing MULTIPLE stories similar to mine....and learning that this place steals from kids. When my daughter and her friend (who's African-American) were 11/12 years old, they went there to buy candy. The person working made my daughters friend stop and empty his pockets and accused him of stealing. He wasn't stealing. I contacted to owner about this situation and he basically said it is what it is. This location lost their ability to sell lottery tickets because of shady practices, and now when kids come in to shop they won't give them their change. They keep the money from these kids. Help be the change needed for these kids and go somewhere else. PS. the gas is over priced here anyways. read more

A gas station rarely even comes close to perfect, but this Valero hits all the marks in terms of providing a convenient neighborhood place to fill up both your ride and your body. On the convenience store side, they check all the boxes. All the treats. Icees. beer. Some coffee drinks I haven't tried but that were enough for other yelpers to specifically rave about. And they actually have nice people behind the counter who smile and provide good service. The gas side is certainly better than many pumps around town in that it's operational, cheaper (especially so if you pay cash) and has pumps that are regularly in good working order. Each time I stop in there is no line or wait and I'm out in a jiffy. So as far as gas stations are concerned...Land Park Valero, you can top me off anytime. read more

Not a fan of Valero gas. This gas station is on the smaller side compared to other gas stations. They accept cash and card -- but paying cash for gas is usually cheaper. The gas pumps are slow!! :( There is a mini food shop, so you can stop by to fill up on gas and go inside to pick up coffee and snacks if you need. There's also a restroom outside too. read more

Like a Phoenix, rising out of Arizona, Valero is BACK!!!! Not sure when opening day will be, looks to be real soon. The owners are amazingly kind and always go above and beyond, throwing in an extra free thing, carrying ice out to your car, etc. I can't recommend enough. They have a nice beer and wine selection as well. read more

Important info first: They carry BEER. And ICEEs! Okay, so there are two Valero stations on Riverside, and this is the one closer to W. Land Park. The difference between the two is night and day. This Valero is super clean and well-appointed and the guys that work there are SUPER nice. Also they sell beer. One time, I needed a twelve pack but they only had two six packs so they sold them to me for the price of a twelve pack. Big thumbs up. The real star of the show is their ICEE machines. They have best sushies in the area and they take a lot of pride in their machines. I'm not even kidding. If you go in, ask about their experience bringing ICEE deliciousness to the masses. I try to buy one every time I stop there, if I have the time to go in and am feeling imbued with the physical robustness necessary to pound through syrup ice and wrangle with brainfreeze for half an hour. The things I do for science. Also, they have beer. Some of the neighbors were pissy about them getting a license to sell beer, but some of the neighbors also think 911 is customer service so who cares what they think? I, personally, appreciate that they carry beer. I also kind of appreciate pissing off my neighbors, so I want to point out as much as possible that they have beer. Full service gas for seniors. Someone told me that they also don't sell vape products to keep it out of the hands of kids in the community.

New owners. Since the new owners came and I've been very patient. I am going there regularly like I used to. The place either smells like incense or BO. At first they were friendly. Overtime though they spend more time on their phone and ignoring your requests. I frequent that gas station often if not five days a week for gas and sports drinks for the kids. On the weekends of courses beer and wine. I stopped by 15 min before they closed. Doors lock and the guy inside told me to go away. My self and my family will not be going there anymore. My favorite gas station in town: - no waiting in line; - nice little food mart; - everything here is in operating condition; - relatively clean; - every pump is self serve and takes a credit/debit card; - tucked away in a safe neighborhood; - fairly decent unisex bathroom; not the cleanest I've seen but certainly not the worst; - station owner attentive and responsive to neighbor's concerns. They charge a penny or so more than the Valero down the street at Riverside/Broadway. Only the main three grades of gas here. No diesel or alternative fuels. Zero stars for gasoline and the oil industry in general. I still have to buy the evil stuff though. Sigh. read more

So this place shut down for a minute, but it's back in effect now under new ownership. The guy that owns the place and works here is real cool. He's extremely friendly and is basically someone I'd call my friend if I considered the local businesses my neighbors. Go in and have a chat with him. (He didn't even know why people buy single swishers. Actually, I'm almost surprised people in Land Park buy single swishers... must be the kids.) The owners are so nice! We come here for a snack with my preschool-aged son every weekend while my daughter is at gymnastics class, and they are his buddies now. He loves to come here. It's definitely not the closest gas station to us, but we make an effort to fill our tanks here when possible because they are so kind. read more

It's your standard gas station. The prices are not the cheapest in town, but when you need to fill up its close and convenient. It's located across the street from Vic's Ice Cream. At night time they play some generic radio station over the loud speakers, which can be annoying. read more

Recently moved a block away from this place and have so far found it convenient. During the first few visits I thought the clerk was going to yell "hurry up and buy" because he was watching me harder than the little curtained room at the adult store but after a few more visits, it seemed he realized that I had no desire to run off with a Monster and a bag of Cheetos. I love having this station tucked into Land Park by Vic's Ice Cream. The owners are nice friendly people who take pride in the upkeep of their establishment. It's nice to fuel up your car and not have to deal with stinky garbage cans and dirty floors in the store. Besides being clean, they recently put a top notch slushy machine inside that saves me from having to drive all the way to 7 Eleven when my kid is bugging me for one. Now the place sells beer, which is a big convenience. Track 7, Guinness, Sierra Nevada. They got most the good ones! Now if I could just hit the Power Ball here, I would really like it. read more
