I had gotten off at the wrong exit and came to park in the McDonald's parking lot for just a moment to attend to my baby. After I Purchased two sandwiches there, I went to use the restroom. Which apparently belongs to Chevron. The employees were nice. And let me in...however there is no changing table in the restroom. I went by here and wish I remembered the employees name. The store is big inside I used to live close by here and come by pretty frequent businesses have came and gone. This one has upgraded. I've been pretty good. I came by to get some gas, but also go inside and get some Red Bull My husband wanted to get a drink for dropping off at a function and they told him that a passport would not be legitimate ID and that it was state law I don't mind somebody having rules for their store, but I don't like when they tell somebody incorrect information I get that they want ID and some type of way however, I do know that it's the option to many - with only a passport. they will not turn them away and that would be really not business savvy to treat one particular group differently. read more

I believe the cashier was new coz she was getting trained by her coworker. She was extremely rude when I needed help with the restroom. I asked if I needed a code or a key for the bathroom. She said that they open the door for us then turns around to her coworker and says "everyone asks me the same sh*t." I was standing there waiting to see if they'll open it. Apparently they push a button to let you in but they didn't say anything to me. Her coworker finally signals me go. I shake my head and the first lady says "the door is open! What the f*ck you shaking your head for" This lady shouldn't be working in customer service if she will just be pissed all the time. She is willing to fight with the customers. read more

I am a mail carrier and need to use public restrooms. This restroom is always super clean. Most of the staff are super nice and accommodating. I really appreciate them. However there is a very thin African American woman that works there. She is extremely rude and ignores me. Many times I have had to ask her to unlock the restroom more than once while continuing to wait. Please note, I have already held out as long as I can. Doing the "dance". And she just goes about whatever she is doing. Then acts like I'm totally bothering her. If she hates her job so much maybe she should work somewhere else!!!! I'm retiring soon so I won't have to deal with her anymore. read more

Gas stations will forever have the reputation of dirty stopovers where, if you're lucky, you'll never get more than the basics - working pumps, affordable gas, a snack shop. This Chevron, at least superficially, is better maintained and cleaner than most, but it doesn't change much about the bottom line. They have pumps that for the most part work, they have gas that really isn't cheaper than some more independent stations and the snack shop is a mixed bag depending on what you're looking for and how fast you want to get out of there. My most recent visit brought me first to a pump that had apparently just stopped working but was not marked that way. It took forever to get the attendant to confirm this, so what should have been a five minute stopover took almost fifteen minutes. Also, Techron or not, this is the same gas I could get elsewhere, so if the pumps don't work and the regular car traffic is heavier, it's not much of an advantage. read more

Every so often, I find myself stopping at this gas station while in the neighborhood visiting my parents. Just like most Chevrons that I have reviewed in the past, this one is located on a corner where the streets are busy in both directions. Driving into the station is not as hard as driving out. Traffic from Howe Ave. will turn onto College Town Drive or cars from La Riviera come zooming around a blind curve to get to the same College Town Drive stop light. You have to be alert, or you will find yourself waiting for quite a while to get that long awaited break to exit. I once lived in the College Gardens Apartments across from this station. Way back then, traffic was mild and the area was pleasantly quiet. I don't think that the Sac. State College students from the 70's were near as speed demons as they are today! Things are very different now from when I was a student. I never thought of this corner lot to be very large back then, but this station manages to offer an adequate number of gas pumps complete with TV's to keep you entertained while you are pumping gas. There is not only a Food Mart, but a McDonald's AND a Taco Bell nestled onto it's property, and yes, convenient parking to go along with it! As I read other Yelp reviews on this place, I realize that it's safer to come here during the day, but the night draws some shady characters. I will heed those warnings, but with pleasant memories of the past still firmly placed in my mind, it's hard to comprehend how I once took the bus near this corner without ever having to worry about getting accosted. There are definite ups and downs to stopping at this location for gas. Some of the ups here is that they have a great food & drink selection within their store, and if gas station food and drinks isn't your game they have plenty of eateries located around them. This place also has televisions at each pump to entertain you while you are filling up your gas tank. Some more ups to visiting this location is lottery, you can come here and pick up a lottery ticket or a scratcher if you enjoy playing the odds with those games. Another up is all the food locations next to this Chevron. For example, Mcdonalds is literally connected to Chevron so you have a choice of either walking through chevron or walking around the outside and walking directly into Mcdonalds. If you're not a fan of mcdonalds they have a few over food stops next to chevron as well such as taco bell, mountain mikes, denny's, or 7 eleven. A few of the downsides of coming to this locations, bums bums bums, and more bums. I kid you not, one night I literally had two bums knocking on my window on both sides of my car asking for help or change. I jetted right out of there and went to another gas station. Don't get me wrong I do help the needy when I can and work within a needs base program for a living, and I don't mind helping when I can (I.e feeding the homeless at Saint Philomene on Tuesdays), but no one wants to encounter stopping your car and having two strangers knocking on both sides of your car at your windows. Another down side of coming to this location is prices, I've noticed the gas stations next to freeway off ramps tend to have higher prices than inner city gas stations, but if you have the money be my guest and pump away, also since it is Chevron you are paying for quality as well and that could explain the much higher prices. read more

I like that this Chevron is located right near the freeway (Howe and College Town Drive). There is plenty of stations to pump gas and lots of room to get your car in and out without having to worry about crashing into another car. There is even a McDonalds (although I don't eat there) drive thru if you're hungry. Gas is moderately priced, maybe a bit more than the average but I think they're just taking advantage of the fact that it's near a university campus and right off a freeway exit so they can hike up the prices a bit. A Chevron is a Chevron am I correct? This location is on my way home from work and is easily accessible. There are about 12 pumps available with spacious room between them. My complaint is that if you accidentally hit debit instead of entering your Club Card number for the discount, it's nearly impossible to exit out of the transaction. You can hit cancel, clear, enter, etc... but to no avail did it exit out of the transaction. I ended up going through the process all the way to "remove pump" so that I could remove the pump and put it back. It then FINALLY cancelled my transaction. Had I had an emergency and needed to leave I wouldn't have been very happy that I couldn't exit out and that the next person could have used my card as the timeout length was ridiculously long. Maybe this is an issue across all Chevron stations, but I had never come across it before and it sure was frustrating. Otherwise a decent location. Haven't made it into the store yet or connected McDonalds. If I ever do I'll make sure to update. read more

Clean, clean, clean! I know, I know...after reading some of my own reviews, I think I might be coming off as a little OCD about cleanliness. But this place really is clean! The staff is friendly. Gas pricing is not too bad, especially for a gas station near a freeway on ramp/off ramp which statistically are more expensive than gas stations located further away from the freeway. In addition if you are a Safeway/Von's shopper, you can get up to $.20 off each gallon of gas just for shopping at your local store. Not too shabby! read more

Friendly staff..location can be scary at times during the night but I carry pepper spray and a knife with me so I'm not worried. Its also connected with Mcdonalds. read more

you know i work there. and i also work nights. and i think that this place for customers is usally a good place. i mean, I care about my customers, and I'm always friendly, so if there's a problem I can easily take care of it by myself or I call the cops. (and since that new rule about them having hot spots, its kool they come sit in the parking lot whitch helps a lot.) But some other employees can be a little more enthusiastic. Cause i mean might as well make people feel glad that their coming to a very upscale and expensive gas station, I mean I like when I go to nice places, and get nice things. read more
