I'm usually the person who submits positive reviews and prefer to take my negative issues direct to the company, and I will as well, but wanted to ensure I posted this warning here. I came in on Friday afternoon to fuel up. I'm a Fuel Rewards member and had $.30 to redeem. I walked in and the store was empty, nobody behind the register. I waited a little then heard voices in the office. It was a younger lady and possibly her daughter but no worker. Then i saw the employee go into the office and chat with this person......while I'm waiting to be served. I finally did the rude, "hello!!," and all 3 walk out of the office. Ok finally going to get helped. I proceed to give the employee a $100 bill and told her I wanted to fill up on #8 and that I needed to enter my number for the reward. She asked me how much I wanted in fuel. I told her I needed to fill up, not sure if I need 5, 10 or 18 gallons. Usually the cashiers take my money and I come back for change. I literally had to explain this to her. Once we got that squared away I went off to fuel up. I might add that I was trying to leave on a trip and this was my last stop before trying to beat traffic. Once I was done with my fill up ($40.12), I went back in to get my change. Unfortunately there were two people in front of me and the first person was buying lottery scratchers....I don't know why it was taking so long but the lady in front of me looked at me with a look of frustration. There are now 4 people in line. Finally my turn to get my change. Employee gave me back $13-14 in change. Do you see the issue here? She didn't understand why I thought that it was the wrong change. Her "slip" said I had fueled up for $53.98......I have no idea where she got that from but she was adamant that her slip was not wrong. I asked her if she wanted to come and see what the pump said. Again she was insisting that her slip was right. This went on for a few minutes so I finally asked her if she acknowledged me giving her a $100 bill. She showed it to me so I was certain that I looked behind me, witnesses! I went out to take the image I'm loading here. Even with that she kept insisting that her machine was right. It look over 5 minutes and me taking my calculator out 3 times to show her simple math. I think I just frustrated her and she finally gave me the correct change. I work in technology, I understand that technology has helped humanity as a whole. But when a cashier can't grasp simple math because her piece of technology tells her what to do, we know that we're failing as a society. I am taking this up with Shell because as a loyal customer for over 20 years, I've never ever encountered this type of issue with a store employee. My local Shell on El Camino & Bell gives me amazing service all the time and I was interested in paying cash to take advantage of the Cash Only price, I'll think again when considering using cash. Quite disappointing shopping experience which added close to 20 minutes to a quick fuel stop.

Don't by any food products here. They sold us some out of date milk that had gone bad. Didn't notice until we were down the road.

He's an older Asian gentleman that scours at me whenever I walk in the door. I also have a rocket card, come in often, and he cannot help himself from rudely prompting me through the whole checkout process. Fortunately, this station was conveniently available right when I needed them! Writing reviews about a gas station is not likely to be read by most people who are only searching for a nearby station and not particularly interested in individual experiences. But as a loyal Yelper, I always feel compelled to write something about a business that I patronize. As far as gas stations go, they fit the bill as being a good, solid filling station, with convenience store. Even though it is located on a busy corner which in turn, seems to keep them busy, it was nice that there is plenty of space to maneuver around the pumps with little stress when having to wait ones turn.

I decided to help him, so I got him water and then offered to buy him something from the store. I invited him inside to pick something out, while his dog stayed outside the entire time. Instead of simply being respectful, the owner came out and told both of us to leave. I was a paying customer and asked him to give me a moment because I was still paying for my items. He told me "adios" and that he didn't care and just wanted me out of his store. He also made a point of telling me "I own this place." I understand that he owns the business and has the right to enforce his rules, but that does not give anyone a reason to treat people disrespectfully. It costs nothing to be kind. What upset me the most was the lack of compassion not only toward me, but toward someone who was simply trying to get water and stay out of the heat. The dog was never inside the store, yet somehow the situation turned into both of us being kicked out. Being told "adios" in that dismissive way was completely unnecessary and disrespectful. I'm not even Hispanic, so I especially didn't appreciate being spoken to that way. I left feeling extremely uncomfortable and disappointed. Being a business owner should come with professionalism and basic respect for your customers and other people. I will not be returning to this Shell.
