I believe this used to be a Citgo with a subway in it....some work still in progress but not bad....even though there is another one a quarter of a mile east of this location. I posted pics. Was harassed by the two men inside. Laughed at and called names and followed outside. As a woman going in alone to a gas station, I'm always apprehensive but this was horrible. These men made me feel extremely uncomfortable. They were so rude towards me. read more

I like coming here since it's a family business, however I wish they competed with the other two gas stations a little more aggressively price-wise. I would recommend it to people in the area though, or if you're just passing through. read more

"Fuck me? FUCK YOU!" That pretty much sums up my experience at this shell location... I always fill up Shell, and for being the one closest to my home I would like to keep going here. HOWEVER, this last experience was simply unforgivable... To start, they were the only station open on New Year's Eve in the area. I pulled up to pump 3 I believe it was, and began pumping. Given that it was freezing out I sat in my car while the gas flowed. Something that instantly struck me was that the gas was flowing at an unusually slow rate. After a while I wondered how much longer would be, so I went out of my car only to find gas flowing out of my car profusely. I immediately clicked off the pump and went inside to speak with the attendant. When I finally got through to the clerk (language barrier, obviously...) he was extremely disrespectful and dismissive of the situation. The first thing he said was "not my problem" and that I would need to call corporate about it (on New Years Eve of course). I was appalled. He also did it with a smile on his face which made me even more livid. After a lot of back and forth he said "fuck you" to me and I promptly reciprocated. So yeah, no reimbursement of any kind. Just another pissed off customer. These people just suck. I highly doubt they will do anything about that pump for a long time as it has probably been broken for quite a while. So beware. Do yourself a favor and go to the Shell down the street at Touhy and Greenwood they are always pleasant and treat their customers with dignity. In summation, I feel robbed (in my own neighborhood), disrepected, and abused by this Shell location. I will be telling everyone I know personally about my experience. WOW! There are 3 shell gas stations; for some reason this one is SUPER EXPENSIVE. The sign says 2.99 for reg. gas that's normal. I pull up I choose 93 premium and start pumping. I quickly notice the per gallon price of $4.49!!!!!!! How is that possible??? So, I stop pumping go inside and make the clerk aware of the outrageous price (thinking maybe it was a mistake). Nope, no mistake the guy behind the counter said that's how it is and he's not the owner. So, I left went about a mile east to Shell gas station where my premium gas was $3.49. I am still in shock. I hope people notice this and avoid this gas station. unreal. YELP on my people. Thx for reading. read more

This gas station is incredibly overpriced if you purchase premium fuel, usually a dollar or more per gallon than regular. With so many stations in the area, it is a real head scratcher for sure. The bathrooms are disgustingly dirty. read more

Where is the button for ZERO STARS !!!!!! I came to this gas station at around 1am in the moring on 9/18/2015. All the lights were on including the pumps, outside lights, and inside the gas station. I put my credit card through the machine and and was prompted by the pump to entered my pin. When it came time to select the gas grade, I was not able to select any grade of gas and the machine froze. After much frustration holding the fuel button and pressing all the buttons for the different grades. My total at the pump read 00000 this is usually the amount that displays when you start to pump.. I then switched pumps and the same thing happened again. I walked up to the door of the shell station and it was locked but all the lights were on as if it was open. Finally I drove off in frustration all the way back to chicago and got gas there at another shell station wondering if there would be a $200 two hundred dollar hold on my account in the morning. The next moring I went to my bank and was informed that therer was a $200 hold on my account from the gas station at 2301 w Toughy in Park Ridge. The bank manager called the gas station with me and the man on the phone was very rude and used vulgar language. He called us stupid and said he didnt care. He said " go ahead call the police" and then he hung up on us. After about 30 plus minutes I was finally able to get the charges removed as now I had $300 hold. 200 from the park ridge for the gas that I didnt get and another 100 from a Chicago gas station(which is ok since I got gas). I have tried to file a bbb complaint but am unable to find the business on BBB. I have called the place over 20 times to try and get the owners number to complaint not only about the THEFT HOLD of 200 but also for the cursing from the employee. I have been ignored where the phone range like 20 times and then hung up. I have had the guy pick up the phone and not answer. He has called me back and not said a word. The number has gone to a fax. and somehow the number was transfered to another phone. I do not reccoment this gas station for the following reasons. 1. THEFT I was not given gas but my account had a 200 dollar hold 2. The lights should not have been on the pumps, the outside, or the store if it was closed and The gas pump should have been off and not asked me for my pin and told to select the gas grade if the place was closed and unable to dispense gas. 3. The employee who works there on 9/18/2015 at 11:00am was rude, threatening, and hung up on me and the bank manager on my first phone call. refused to answer the phone after that first call, even when I called from a different phone, transfered his phone to his fax, and down right hung up on me like over 20 times. Example: If I call you and you dont answer and the phone never goest to voice mail but mysterriously gets disconnected. I would not suggest going to the Shell station for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that this gas station is always priced higher then the Shell station located less than a mile east. I'm not sure if it is because the one that is a mile east is next to Thorton's so they are in competition to provide a cheaper gas price, but regardless of the case, this place always seems to be it least $.10 higher. Another reason I would not suggest going to this gas station is because sometimes it can be a pain to get out especially if you are in the first two pumps located closest to the store entrance. And on a final note, I went here during the winter last year and the front end pavement of the store was very slippery due to no one shoveling the front entrance way. I was easily able to navigate through it but I'd worry about those that are older in age falling down and breaking their hip. I mean you could at least salted it and show some kind of effort in trying to maintain the safety of your patrons. Furthermore, I had to use the bathroom and due to it not being heated, the toilet bowl water was completely frozen and flushable leading to all sorts of things piling up in it.
