Long John with Snow White Icing and Sprinkles: Kwik Trip is a convenience store/gas station chain…read morelocated primarily in the upper Mid-West. It was founded in 1965 in my home state of WI, specifically, Eau Claire (have fun pronouncing that all you non-Wisconsinites). A Long John is a yeast/raised doughnut that is typically iced and sometimes filled with custard, cream, or some other filling. The term is primarily utilized in the Midwest, Texas, and Canada. Other parts of the U.S. refer to Long Johns as Bar Doughnuts, Finger Doughnut, or Cream Stick (that one sounds kind of dirty). The variety I have from Kwik Trip has vanilla icing and a paltry amount of sprinkles. This was an average doughnut in every way. My biggest complaints are it clearly needs more sprinkles and personally, I feel the icing could also have been more copious to cover more of the surface area. Just okay. Boss brought these in as a Friday treat. My top doughnut shops: 1. Donut Bar (San Diego) 2. Pinkbox Doughnuts (Las Vegas) 3. Everglazed (Disney Springs) 4. Cranky Al's (MKE) 5. Krispy Kreme (various locations in different states) Doughboy_Food_Reviews

Glazer Doughnut with Chocolate Drizzle: Kwik Trip is a convenience store/gas station chain located…read moreprimarily in the upper Mid-West. It was founded in 1965 in my home state of WI, specifically, Eau Claire (have fun pronouncing that all you non-Wisconsinites). It wasn't until 2003 that Kwik Trip introduced their Glazer Doughnuts. I couldn't find a lot of info on Glazers, but they appear to simply be the Kwik Trip version of a glazed doughnut. The Glazer that I got my hands on is a yeast/raised doughnut, covered in a sweet glaze, and has a chocolate drizzle on top. There's a pale/whitish appearance to the doughnut since the layer of glaze is so thick. With an appearance like that it reminded me a bit of a zebra or oddly enough, the Warboys from Mad Max. My glazer was satisfyingly sweet, and the chocolate drizzle was a nice touch as it was not simply for aesthetics, but did add some milk chocolate flavor. Warming it in the microwave for a few seconds elevated it to near Krispy Kreme status (aka perfection). Even though it's an ersatz Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Doughnut (to be fair, all other glazed doughnuts in my experience are), Kwik Trip's version is still tasty enough to be Doughboy approved My top doughnut shops: 1. Donut Bar (San Diego) 2. Pinkbox Doughnuts (Las Vegas) 3. Everglazed (Disney Springs) 4. Cranky Al's (MKE) 5. Krispy Kreme (various locations in different states) doughboy_food_reviews

Does any gas station really deserve 5 stars?? Normally I would say no, but I'll make an exception…read morein this case. I've been gassing up at this Speedway since I started driving 25 years ago. Through three remodels, two Middle East wars, 2 Bush presidents, and about 10 different cars, this Speedway has always been here for me. I stop only occasionally here now as I only work in the area and do not live in Cudahy any more. Last week, I had an experience that really impressed me in a positive way. I stopped for gas, a paper, and juice first thing in the morning and then went about my day. In the evening, I got a call from my bank, telling me that I had dropped my ATM card at the gas station and that the manager (Trevor) was holding on to it for me. 12 hours later, and I hadn't even noticed. It was awesome that someone took it straight to the manager to hold on to, and that he was thoughtful enough to call the number on the back of the card and report it. That day was pay day for me, so someone probably could have filled the tanks of a few semi-trucks before I even knew it was missing. Thanks to Trevor for looking out for me, and thanks to the people of Cudahy for being honest!!
