What makes this Texaco a little more special than others is the fact that it does have a fresh kitchen inside that makes great breakfast tacos, fried chicken and catfish along with some other offerings. I stopped in here to purchase six breakfast tacos which were $22. They were made fresh to order, not sitting under a heat lamp. The odd thing I noticed, was the fact they don't have any prices posted. I got them to go, but they do have some tables to sit at inside. They do have a coffee bar, but it's not up to the standards of the latest Quik trip. It's a decent gas station/convenience store with eight pumps, an ATM inside and propane tanks for rent. I was told to get there early because the pineapple's go fast. Score...I found a stack of pineapples to choose from and more! Pork skins is what you normally find in a San Antonio super market. However, the pork skins in JD's Super Market are massive. Never seen such large pork skins in my life. Also, I found some Mexican drinks like Agua Fresca (refreshing drink made with fresh fruits blended or squeezed into water, often sweetened with sugar) and horchata (creamy drink made from rice, cinnamon, and vanilla, popular in Mexico). There were a variety of sweet treats on the shelf as well as grab and go that you do not typically see in other super markets. I imagine if you looking for exotic spices or unusual goods, this is the market for you.

The young girl that worked in there was still rude, a sign of the youth today. The older lady working the counter was a very personable and nice individual and said hello back with a smile. The older generation was just raised with more manners. The store was not that clean on the inside, a little messy. Getting in and out of the parking lot was simple and there were plenty of gas pumps and parking. This was way better experience now that the construction is done. The store has no other businesses attached to it, but there is a Sonic being built next-door as of this writing. They do sell breakfast tacos fresh made inside and they also sell propane tanks. This store is located on the corner of 290 heading east. The store has a very good coffee bar and Slurpee station. It also offers some hot to go food at the register. They do at least have a propane exchange in case you need a tank for your gas grill. The store appears fairly clean and well run. It's definitely a good stop on your morning commute into Austin.
