(The less-than-stellar clerk had told her that - FYI, it's not true.) There was another customer who witnessed this. Gave it another shot during the day and the store was disgustingly dirty. There was a line of 5 people, one cashier behind the register holding a conversation with another cashier who was just looking out the window at a fire truck that was driving by. He tried to charge me for a cup of just ice (it's free at every single other 7 Eleven and it was their one liter that was warm anyway) and had an attitude when I questioned it. Clean your store and get some employees who have basic communication skills. I won't be back, and I make sure to tell everyone to go to the shell two buildings over. The gas is typically cheaper there anyway.

This dude has: 1) The grammar skills of a five year old. 2) Too much time on his hands - (like wow! yelp asked for a review and he wrote a novella!) 3) A grossly entitled and douchey attitude if he thinks it's OK to "unload 56 years of disgust accumulated" on employees. 4) A bad case of the DTs, judging by the (badly-spelled) effluvium spewed throughout the review. Get some help, bro. And lay off the six packs once in a while.

For about 20 years one constant in San Marcos was that you could roll up to the Yellow Store for the cheapest gas in town... and the price on the sign was 2-3 cents cheaper when you got to the pump. Went there last Tuesday... not only was it not the cheapest in town, it was 20 cents more expensive than H‑E‑B a few blocks away. First they knock down Triple Crown... then Paper Bear closes... now this. At least we can still find a legendary Bloody Mary at The Showdown.

Their lingua tacos are hands down some of the best I've ever had--tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. On top of the incredible food, the service is remarkably fast and friendly. Highly recommend stopping by if you're craving top-tier tacos in the area!

And paper to-go trays as usual, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, *still no labels* in the hot box so you will play the game of guess-the-fried-shapes. Most of the trays were empty, and the other two options this morning appeared to be flautas and churros. I selected two of what I hoped were taquitos/burritos. They ended up being eggrolls (insert trombone wah-wah). They were cheap and reheated well for lunch (the co-worker arrived with donuts, so I didn't dissect my mystery selection until lunchtime). I'm not asking for the ingredient list to be posted--I accept I'll die not knowing if those previous mini burritos were beef or bean or both--but even vegetarian versus not would be an improvement.

I've been stopping here since we moved our office from Austin to San Marcos in September of 2019…read more The staff has always been very friendly, and the Laredo Taco Company shares this store as well. The store is always clean and well stocked with your typical convenience store items. They are located on NB I-35, exit 206, but it can be tricky exiting and then trying to turn into their driveway. The better and safer way is to take exit 207. Getting back on the highway can be challenging as well. If you exit on the North side of the parking lot, you have to shoot over to the far left to take the on ramp back on I-35. The safer option is to exit on the South side of the parking lot to gain a little more distance to take the on ramp. However, sometimes this option is worse as 18 wheelers park on the edge of the feeder road blocking your view. So the safest route is to get on the feeder, travel down a bit, to the next on ramp.

I was such an awesome high school girlfriend ... :) Anyways, this place has changed a bit since then. I don't know for sure, but it seems like it has also changed owners. The store isn't as brightly lit and the layout is kinda wonky, but if you're stopping in for a snack and some gas, it's not a bad place to go. The store has a pretty good selection of snack food and drinks. The prices are on par for convenience stores. There's nothing that makes this place stand out as either good or bad. The husband and I grabbed a Red Bull and king sized 3 Musketeers - which ran us $4.63. The service wasn't bad, but they also did not go out of the way to greet you or stand out as having above average customer service. Overall, if I'm needing a snack and I'm traveling northbound on the service road near Wonder World Drive, I'd stop in. If I were on the other side of town, or even the road, I'm not going out of my way to stop in. (Note: There are actually gas stations I'd do that for, such as the 7-11 in Austin off of South Lamar near Manchaca or Buckee's.)
