I set up an appointment for him to come out and get the rotors and brakes installed and he was on time and ready to go. He analyzed the front and back rotors and informed me the front rotors didn't need to be replaced but the back ones definitely needed it. I was very happy that he was upfront and honest with me about not having to change out the rotors . He was very meticulous about his work and did an outstanding job for a hell of a price. He also gave me a military discount which he didn't have to do. He also looked over the truck and advised what other things needed to be done. He wrote me up a quote advised me on which repair was most important to address. I'm very happy with the results and effort he put into his work. I would definitely refer him for any car needs you might have. I will definitely be using him from now on. It's hard to find a mechanic you can trust these days. I specifically requested a road-force match balance to correct a vibration at highway speeds, but was told the shop did not have the equipment. I chose to proceed with a standard balance and alignment. After they kept my truck for the entire day, I called one hour before closing to check the status. I was told--by someone who could barely communicate clearly--that none of the work had been completed because "the machine was down." I asked the employee to contact another Firestone location and arrange priority service since I had a trip early the next morning. Instead, he told me that I could call around myself. I had to stop him and explain that good customer service would be to take responsibility for the inconvenience and make an effort to resolve the issue. When I arrived to pick up my truck, I found it parked on the side of the building with every door left unlocked, another example of the carelessness at this location. The employee then informed me that he had called a store in Bastrop but that I would not make it before they closed, so "there was nothing he could do." He also stated that their alignment machine was down and, finally, that he could not balance my tires because my factory wheels were "bent." His dismissive attitude made it clear that there was no intention of performing the work. He notified me that, as a courtesy, he wouldn't charge me--but insisted I needed new wheels. Immediately afterward, I contacted the Firestone location in Kyle and explained the situation. Jeff, the service advisor there, got me in first thing the next morning and completed both the alignment and the tire balance without any issues whatsoever. When I returned from my trip, I attempted to complete the Firestone customer satisfaction survey to make corporate aware of my experience. The link had already expired--further demonstrating how little attention Firestone appears to pay to customer experience. Needless to say, I will not be returning to the Lockhart Firestone for any services. The Kyle location earned my business, but the Lockhart store showed a clear lack of professionalism, communication, and basic customer care.

I had it towed to South Austin Nissan, where I'd purchased brand new before it was even taken off the transporter. As luck would have it, my transmission went out just 5,000 miles beyond the warranty. And Nissan wanted $4800 to put a new one in and I didn't have 48 cents. Then a funny thing happened: I stopped crying and thru an online search found Adam in Lockhart. He had a great looking shop, that was immaculately kept, a good sign if you're interested in better repairs. So I called him, and it was a holiday weekend, and the guy moved mountains to get my car fixed with a completely rebuilt transmission for about half what Nissan quoted me.
