There's tons of parking and lots of pumps. I was traveling with my baby for the first time so having space away from everyone while we settled into what we needed to do was perfect. We grabbed the very last pump and no one was near us, which let us take our time. The bathrooms are large and we used a big handicap stall which had a changing table AND sink in it. I was like, "Um, ok, what's that about?" I got home and looked it up. I found out it was Texan company. Then I decided I wanted to visit the biggest Buc-ee's in the Lone Star State. We landed in San Antonio and rented a car. Thankfully it didn't have a California license plate. We drove to Luling on our way to Austin. We pulled into the Buc-ee's parking lot. We saw the gas prices. Gas in Texas is more affordable than Washington State. Took a photo with the metal critter in front of the entrance then made our way into the store. Spacious, busy. Bathroom was clean. We picked up some brisket sandwiches and some sodas. Food is more affordable in Texas. We also bought some souvenirs to take back home including a red shirt with the beaver.

Part restaurant, part convenience store, part traveler's haven, they do it all and do it all well. If you want a full Southern-style home-cooked meal, you can have that at Diane's Diner. If you want snacks and drinks, that's fine, too. If you want wine or microbrews, they've got it. If you just need to go potty, you won't find a cleaner place to do your business. And if your dog needs to do the same, well they've even got Rowdy's Rest Stop just for dogs to pee, poop, and play. Very friendly staff. Can't say enough about that, but it makes all the difference in what makes Morton's best. Although I have to admit I'm a devout fan of Buc-ee's, I sure wish there were more than just the one Morton's location. It's so well-done, I couldn't believe there aren't more. They have so many good snacks to keep you munching on the road: jerky, candied pecans and nuts, Beaver Chips, soda, slushies, and all kinds of coffee to keep you hydrated and awake. Apparently, he had heard all about this legendary Southern pit stop from friends, and he was determined to experience it for himself. This place is an absolute adventure. We found the most RANDOM things! The wall of jerky was impressive, the quirky kitchen gadgets would make hilarious gifts, and the beauty aisle had me cracking up with its foodie-themed eye masks. My son spent a solid 45+ minutes debating what souvenir was worthy of making the trip home. And then there's the FOOD. Holy options! Watching the crew prepare sandwiches right in front of you was practically entertainment in itself. They have quite the operation going! We were dangerously close to grabbing a box of fudge because the deal was too good to pass up, but we didn't want to over-do-it. Instead, we shared a chopped brisket sandwich and a Cuban. Both were delicious, but that Cuban?! The dill pickle aioli was fantastic, and the sandwich was absolutely loaded with meat. We were stuffed! My only complaint? For a place with this much food, "where are the tables?" We ended up eating in the car, which turned into a deliciously messy situation. A little indoor seating would've made the experience even better. On the plus side, gas was the cheapest we saw around, restrooms were plentiful, and the sandwich deal was a steal!
