I did buy 3 of their small cup size Blue Bell dark chocolate ice cream- for all of us but the cashier gave only one spoon. It tasted so good I had hubs go get me a large size one since I didn't eat a normal lunch and it was past 5 pm. While I waited in the car with the grandpup. I wanted to find some Bucee items for Doc since she's been our road trip driver plus made all the arrangements for hotels, tickets to parks, dinner show, etc. We all got different things: hubs got small bags of jerky, Doc got her favorite brisket sandwich to share with her Frenchie, a sausage on a stick and 3 peach cobblers for each of us to try. I like the large amount of clean restroom stalls plus soap. The cone of warmed sugary pecans and cinnamon bites were a sweet snack- finally gone from the first Buc-ee's a week ago. Part restaurant, part convenience store, part traveler's haven, they do it all and do it all well. If you want a full Southern-style home-cooked meal, you can have that at Diane's Diner. If you want snacks and drinks, that's fine, too. If you want wine or microbrews, they've got it. If you just need to go potty, you won't find a cleaner place to do your business. And if your dog needs to do the same, well they've even got Rowdy's Rest Stop just for dogs to pee, poop, and play. Very friendly staff. Can't say enough about that, but it makes all the difference in what makes Morton's best. Although I have to admit I'm a devout fan of Buc-ee's, I sure wish there were more than just the one Morton's location. It's so well-done, I couldn't believe there aren't more. So many things happening in this place - people making fudge, candied nuts, all kinds of jerkee; a huge BBQ station where employees shout out every time they either make or sell a sandwich? All kinds of fun merchandise - from clothes to shoes, to toys - a full gift shoppe. Employees are amazing - engaged, kind, energetic - definitely seem to care about what they do. Management salaries are posted out front for hiring purposes - pay is real high which is great, but even better, seems like those managers are doing a great job leading employees for that $$$ So, if you ever see a Buc-ee's I recommend you go in and see it - it's pretty hard to explain but it is quite something.
