While on Route 30 there is not much choice of where to go, so when you come upon a gas station while you're nearing empty, you take the chance and stop. This Sunoco was a really welcomed sight along this stretch of road. Not much else is around and because of that it seems to be a very busy place among the locals. Gas prices were the norm for Pennsylvania. Inside they have all that you would expect from a convenience store and then some. That was welcomed to us since we wanted something to munch on for the rest of our trek towards Gettysburg. Staff were pleasant inside and accommodating.

So today, there are trucks in two lines, all the way to the entrance at the road waiting for fuel. When I go in to ask a about it, the sorry excuse for a cashier immediately gets an attitude telling me they updated their systems so the card swipes at the pump don't work anymore. I asked if this was overnight as I have my had this issue anywhere else. She snapped some more attitude. I told her she didn't have to have one. I'm done with this location and am going to be pushing my boss to open a fleet card at more trucker friendly establishments. This is ridiculous.

And yes, I did visit the other Sheetz in the area almost directly after stopping at this one. This Sheetz is located in town which can translate to busy no matter the time of day. For me, this was to be a quick stop to use the facilities, pick up an item or two and after looking around, head to the other location in the area. Not sure what goes on here, but if you want to avoid being around people, go to the other location. There is a constant stream in and out here making for browsing almost a chore. Big difference here is that you can purchase beer and wine. Not all Sheetz have converted as of yet. That may be why this location is busier than usual. Definitely will not go out of my way to visit this location again unless I am in the area for a reason.

Several families came in with one focus ... ice cream. Cones, quarts, and gallons were sailing out the door. I sat outside on a bench and totally enjoyed my ice cream. One family joined me on the benches. They said stopping for Jackson Dairy was a mandatory stop on the way to and from grandparents' house in Laurel Caverns. Getting gas to make the trip home was 1 stop shopping.
