This place is such a terrific place to go to. It has an amazing story which I recommend reading on…read morethe website. Steve is the father that started making wine as a hobby in 1984, fast forward to 2017 it became a reality, opened in 2020 and the pandemic happened. But now the winery is opened 5 days per week for wine tasting and carry out. The daughter Roberta runs it and said they're turning the side deck into a location you can enjoy doing wine flights, having a glass of wine etc; Roberta has the right southern charm to run the business. She did a wonderful job telling us about the different wines, what was available for tasting. Everything is Italian theme. Even the sweet wines. She said at first her dad only made dry wines. She told him if you want to sell the wine, you must make sweet wine. She said he doesn't when in the barrel due to a bad experience with oxidation. She said he uses staves to oak in steel, which is easier than having to worry about topping off constantly like myself :) she said he typically ages the wine for 4 years. Such patience. She said they are adding new wines every 2 months. That's spectacular to be able to do that. Overall, enjoyed the winery. Everything we had was wonderful. One good thing is that we got a card that every so many wines you purchase, you can obtain a free one after so long. We will be back. Cool vibe. Roberta does an amazing job.

Figured, "what the heck, I like wine!" What I found was a totally unexpected and wonderful experience. Most smaller mom 'n pop wineries are just not that good. Especially those outside the normally expected areas like Napa, Russian River Valley, etc. The ambiance is both country and modern at the same time. Meaning clean lol. The decor and welcoming smile scream "welcome home" and at the same time subtly describe a very modern wine experience. Apparently they get their grapes from California then make wine here. And it shows. This is the first Pinot Noir I've had outside Oregon that was actually good! The Montepulciano was very good too! I will admit I only tried one sampling of each of the reds and over half were great. Which is saying something. Also nice was the simple yet tasty charcuterie service. The presentation was simple yet appropriate. Sitting outside, enjoying the Sun and countryside just made the experience a visit to remember. If you ever want to try a local winery, sit at a relaxed venue, be served with a smile, and leave with a coups of fantastic bottles of wine, definitely make your way here. And apparently if you come on Sunday, you'll enjoy some live music to boot!

Greenhouse Winery - Our Selections from the Greenhouse Winery - Ring of Fire was particularly good and out of the ordinary with a hot pepper overtone!

I stopped in primarily to get my Pour Tour sticker, so I knew I wouldn't be buying a bottle. One of my favorite things at Greenhouse is the Wine Slushie, but unfortunately, the day I was there the machine was down. Not to worry, they have tons of tasty options. I ordered the combo wine (I forget what they call it) where they pair some of their pepper wine with their sweet wine. It is absolutely delicious because the sweetness of the paired wine cuts down some of the hit of the hot one. It was a bit expensive at $10 a glass, but I guess since it was two wines it was more expensive than the other glasses. The store itself is nicely set up. There are more comfortable couches and chairs and then in the back of the store more traditional tables and chairs. They have a variety of wine themed gifts to purchase. A little of everything from toppers, bags, glasses, towels and even some shirts. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and genuinely seemed happy to be there. I really enjoyed my visit to this location and will stop in next time I'm at the Westmoreland Mall.

For reference, I'm more of a white and sweet red wine drinker, so I won't be reviewing reds from…read morethis winery. What I enjoy about Greenhouse is how personal each wine is bc they incorporate quirkiness and creativity not only in the flavors of their wines but also with the names and the labels. It comes out very cute. Ex: the sauced wine is a picture of a cat who seems "sauced." Who would refuse to buy such cuteness!?! They offer your typical PA wine from concordia, fredonia and niagara grapes, and they also have unique wines that are seasonal and specialty wines again with very cute names and labels. Great as gifts! My faves so far are the sauced (cranberry wine), tramp n the weeds, and the chocolate cherry. Their fruit wines are on point with the real fruit flavor that it's like drinking fruit juice. Could be dangerous. I highly recommend supporting this local winery. They also sell shirts and wine accessories.

The winery uses California grapes and other, locally-sourced fruits and traditional winemaking techniques to produce small-batch, handcrafted wines. They sell their wines through their website, at a couple local businesses, and at some farmers markets and festivals. I first encountered Mingo Creek Cellars several months ago when the owner, who is one of the very best review writers on Yelp, kindly gifted me a bottle of sangria. As he released more wines, I had to try more! In recent months, I purchased three other wines: Blushberry, sweet strawberry-apple; McFarlane's Blueberry Battalion, sweet blueberry and named after Major McFarlane who fought in the American Revolutionary War and the Whiskey Rebellion; and Blackpaw Treaty, a semi-sweet blackberry cabernet named after the secret agreement. I loved all of these wines! Mingo Creek Cellars currently sells many other wines: Cavalier Cab, a dry red cabernet sauvignon; Bradford's Blaze, a dry syrah; Whispers of the Hill, petite sirah; Militia Whisperer, Gewürztraminer; Rebel Scout, a dry riesling; Forbidden Flame, a semi-sweet with raspberry and dragonfruit.
