This Sunoco was a really welcomed sight along this stretch of road. Not much else is around and because of that it seems to be a very busy place among the locals. Gas prices were the norm for Pennsylvania. Inside they have all that you would expect from a convenience store and then some. That was welcomed to us since we wanted something to munch on for the rest of our trek towards Gettysburg. Staff were pleasant inside and accommodating.

I decided to take a trip down memory lane recently. I made a voyage to my alma mater. While in…read moretown I decided to also venture and see what the town had transformed into. Lots has changed, but not this place. When I was in college Kwik Fill had did a complete rebuild to make it look like it does today. Since the rebuild, does not look like much has changed. Maybe the building aged a bit, but that's about all. It is the only gas station in town. Also one of the few places to get items that are convenient. Hot food is also available if you are up for some gas station fare. Back in the day I remember coming here for some chicken strips and fries. Typical items you would find in a gas station convenience store. Typical service as well. Attentive as expected, but it seems like a bit of a joking atmosphere. Lots of joking between employees, and some of the regulars that stop in here. It appears to be a frequent spot for local authorities. You have to give it to them. It is a needed place in town and it has served its purpose all those years.

Since they extended four lane portion of Route 40 I would assume a lot of the traffic just kind of bypasses this now. I believe this was a much needed business in this area. There wasn't much selection if I recall correctly. The setup inside and out is your typical setup for a Sheetz. Enough pumps to handle a rush, enough touchscreens inside to handle a rush as well. The one added bonus of this location, if you can call it that, is that they have three PNC ATMs located behind the building for banking business. I'm guessing that was part of the stipulation for building the property. Not only did it take up the garage business, but a PNC branch office as well.

She said all the pumps' card readers were down . . . again. I said I needed to fill my tank and offered to leave my car keys or a cash deposit. She said "No. You've got to leave your credit card." After just witnessing the attempt to cash in a bogus lottery ticket at this store, I wasn't about to leave my credit card for 5 or 10 minutes while I filled up my gas tank. I declined to leave my card and said I'd go to the other BFS out on Bowers Lane. The clerk said "Bye!" and waved me out the door with a single-finger salute. I have not purchased gas from any BFS station since that incident.
