I tried the pistachio latte, which was delicious - it wasn't too sweet, but the pistachio creme and actual nuts added some fun to the beverage. The cookie croissant, warmed up, was decadent and such a crazy sweet treat to start the meal. I opted for the Israeli breakfast - it was just hearty and everything was so fresh and flavorful. I love the halloumi cheese, tomatoes and olives in particular. My husband went for the truffle croque madame and it was massive - he had to take half of it home, which he almost never does! Service was quick, without us feeling rushed. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

First off, the service really stood out to me. Everyone was so welcoming, attentive and genuinely nice. I especially loved seeing how much the staff helped each other. You could literally see the teamwork throughout the restaurant, and I love that because it makes such a difference in the overall experience. Everything flowed, the food came out in a timely manner, and we always felt taken care of. We originally sat outside because the patio is adorable, but Miami started Miami-ing and it was just a little too hot for us lol, so we moved inside. They were super accommodating about it. Also, a little warning from your Yelp friend: downtown Miami parking is atrocious if you don't know the area. Save yourself the character development and Uber. Nowwww, the food. I ordered the passionfruit smoothie, pain au chocolat and the steak & eggs. When I tell you the steak & eggs is a REAL meal, come hungry! It's tender short ribs over roasted potatoes with two sunny-side-up eggs, cilantro dressing and a delicious sauce on the side. The short ribs were incredibly soft and tender, almost like a brisket situation, and the portion of meat was HUGE. Honestly, it could easily be shared. I ate about half before my stomach politely told me we were finished and the rest came home with me. The potatoes were delicious, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and I really appreciated all the different flavors in the dish. Everything worked so well together. Definitely not your basic little steak-and-eggs brunch situation. The pain au chocolat was approximately the size of my head... and I have a big head, so please understand the measurements here lol. It was really good! I do wish it had been served warm and had a little more chocolate inside, but I'd absolutely order it again. Next time I'd probably get it by itself with a latte or hot chocolate and have myself a cute little pastry moment. And the passionfruit smoothie? Soooo good. Refreshing, flavorful and not overly sweet, which I appreciated because we don't need all that extra sugar. We have figures to watch around here. My mom really enjoyed herself too, which made the experience even better. Between the food, generous portions, cute atmosphere and especially the service, Café Bastille definitely gave us a reason to come back. Until next brunch... mwah! S/O Jeffrey our wonderful server!

Lastly, the strawberry matcha was amazing! The right balance of sweetness. This is a great place to visit especially if you're like us and needed to kill some time before the cruise allows for embarkation. Outside was clean and the rest room was also cleans.

It had just rained, so sitting outside was actually really pleasant--not too hot or humid. The other 2 stars I'm taking off are for the service. The servers never really smiled and seemed like they didn't want to be there. We honestly felt like we were bothering them whenever we asked for something. Maybe they were just having an off day, but a little friendliness would have made a big difference. The food was good and the place itself was nice. I just wish the servers were a little more welcoming and pleasant.

My first bite was of the Oreo pancakes and Oh.My.Gosh. I couldn't even believe that was happening that I was eating the most amazing pancake in the world. The pancakes were super fluffy and somehow tasted like there was butter throughout the cake itself. It did not need any syrup. The Oreo flavor was bursting throughout the pancake. The whipped cream was homemade. To die for. Then there were the breakfast tacos which were delicious having eggs and chorizo out of a pancake, are you kidding me? The chipotle sauce was awesome.
