I don't take any pleasure in leaving this review because the quality of the haircuts here is excellent--at least for men's cuts. However, my concern is with professionalism. I've been here four times before, sometimes as a walk-in, and had good experiences. For my fifth visit, I scheduled an appointment in advance. I left work early and arrived six minutes before my 5:30 appointment out of respect for their time. When I checked in, my appointment was confirmed, but I was not taken next. Instead, a walk-in client was serviced ahead of me. In my opinion, the stylist should have informed the walk-in that there was a scheduled appointment and either asked him to wait or explained how to book for the future. Unfortunately, that didn't happen--and neither did my haircut. This review isn't meant to criticize their skill, but to highlight an issue with scheduling and customer service. If appointments aren't prioritized, it defeats the purpose of booking one. read more

I was fortunate to have found Veronica at Shear Perfection Hair Salon in Stuart, FL. She has the attributes of a true stylist, listens, advises, and cuts hair meticuously. I have thin, fine hair and it is challenging to find a stylist who knows how to cut and style my hair. This is the best haircut and style that I have received in 10 years! I sat in the chair for almost 20 minutes as the stylist was behind. That was no big deal--I would want her to take her time with my hair as well. She finally finished, never came over to say hello and went outside to smoke a cigarette!!! Left me just sitting there. No "I will be right with you" or "Thanks for waiting" nothing! So rude. I would hardly call this place a Spa. It's a hair styling salon that may or may not have a nail tech available if she's working that day. I don't know about the Swartskoph product but I was supposed to be going to a Redken salon. I trusted the stylist, who seemed to be of age to give me good advice about my hair. I am just platinum blonde. I left there looking fairly reasonable. I had a swooshi thing on the side of my head that I didn't ask for. I have a Bob that is supposed to be straight but a little volume. No textured swooshi. My roots are orange, so so much for the Swarts cough translating well from Redken. The stylist/owner had a lot of attitude that she knew more than anybody else. She was very disparaging and unpleasant, not to mention wreaking of cigarette smoke, which made me want to puke. read more

Shear Perfection is an amazing salon! Sue, the owner, is an amazing colorist and hair stylist. I really don't want to rave too much because she is busy as it is! Beautiful, CLEAN salon. I am new to the area and gave this salon a try. I usually only use a trusted stylist to do my hair. I have had it done professionally many many years. I told the woman, "I'd like to clean it up and get rid of my dead ends." "do some long layers and some bangs." no big deal, right? WRONG. don't you have continue to learn new technique as you go through your career? needless to say I am very disappointed. the salon was clean but doesn't make up for a bad simple haircut. oh yea, at the end when she was blow drying me, she wrapped my hair around 5-6 round brushes and left them in my hair like curlers. it was the most ridiculous thing I've experienced at a salon. read more

I am new to the stuart area and wanted to find a local place for a pedicure. Even though the reviews were not great I decided to try it. I called at 3:45 and was able to get an appt at 4:30. Mai was wonderful. I had a deluxe pedicure and it was great. I usually paint my own toenails either pink or purple so I chose a French for a difference. I moved to Stuart recently and tried Shear Perfection for hair cut, pedicures and leg wax. Veronica cut my hair and did the best cut I've had in a very long time. It's a tiny place...but they seem to have a lot fit into the location. It was my 1st visit and I thought it was clean and the staff was friendly. As soon as you walk in, they have a huge sign warning you not to lean or even touch their receptionist counter - I don't know what's up with that! I clumsily held onto (juggled) all my things while I was paying because I had to wonder what kind of scene they would have made had I placed my things on the super-special counter. My appointment was for waxing - I saw Deborah. I would recommend her and I plan give her my repeat business. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed - which is saying something when you're there for a waxing ;-) *Note: Rating just Deborah, she is 5-stars!!! I won't go to anyone else. This place is a joke I had asked for a color specialist what I got was someone who did not know what the heck they were doing.I would post pictures of what I asked for and what I ended up with but it's embarrassing. When I showed the "person" cause she is definitely not a stylist, what I wanted she made me feel bad about it like I was crazy. The owner needs to A-fire her or B-send her to some classes I believe they have hair shows in Orlando keep up with new trends and how to do them correctly. I went to this salon for a few years and the owner was my stylist. While I liked her skill, I always felt put on the back burner as she would ask me a question and while I was answering, start talking to someone else. That being said, she was amazing with my hair. Well it's the end of July now and I am still as happy at Shear Perfection as the very first time I walked in the door. When I first started going I was a very dark brunette and as I started to age the dark hair was too hard looking on me. I wanted to go lighter without bleach a little at a time and after three hair color visits I'm a medium base with highlights that shine. I absolutely love the way my hair looks against my skin tone. My hair is very wavy and gets frizzy in the Florida humidity. No problem.....I had the Coppola Keratin hair relaxer done and it is as smooth as glass in the humidity. It has a shine like I've never had before. I blow dry my hair to wear it smooth and sleek and it takes half the time to dry it since I had the treatment done. What's so cool is that I can still have beach waves or even retro curls when I curl iron it or pop in a few pin curls or rollers. There's nothing I can't do with my hair since the keratin treatment. It has made my hair so healthy looking. If you're in the market for a new hair stylist or if you're tired of the same old look, come to Shear Perfection and get a new look! The summer is a great time to go a little lighter with some highlights. Do something for yourself and make a few subtle changes with your hair, makeup and nails. You'll be glad you did. I'm thrilled that I found Shear Perfection, quite honestly, I was getting tired of trying different salons in the martin county area. Let's face it, when you feel good about yourself on the inside, it shows on the outside. I can't recommend this salon enough. I believe the key to great results from your stylist is good communication. Don't be afraid to express what your looking to achieve. They are only too happy to listen. Have a great hair day! AWFUL!! Rude and unprofessional. I had to clean the hair out of the chair before sitting down. The staff complain about people in front of other customers. I paid nearly $1000 here and they never got my extensions or color right after many hours and 4 or 5 trips. I went to another salon a month later and was completely redone and satisfied in 90 minutes. Sue wouldn't even recommend the products she used on my hair to me on my first visit. She said she didn't pay attention to what she used and saw too many people to be able to remember products. Disappointed, and won't be back. I usually get my nails done elsewhere. My mom had her hair done here, and suggested we both get manicures here together so we could catch up while doing so. We get manicures every 2 weeks or so, and we're thinking of making this our "new place." We we're told manicures are $15. I was asked to pick out my color, so I picked out my fav OPI color and had it in my hands. The manicurist told me that Vinylux lasted longer and asked if I wanted to try that instead of the OPI. Still just a regular manicure-not gel, etc. I said "sure." My mom was asked the same, and fell for it too. When we went up to pay, our $30 manicures had become $50 manicures. When I told the receptionist that we hadn't been informed of cost almost doubling, she just stared at me. The owner was standing there and made no attempt to intervene. I obviously paid, but will not be back. Hope it was worth the loss of a lot of potential repeat business to make $10. The BIG rub was that this $25 simple manicure that was supposed to "last longer" lasted 3 days for my mom, and 4 for me. My OPI manicures last a week. I would really urge this business to be honest and transparent-if you want to upsell, inform your clients, or conspicuously post your prices. Back to my old place! read more

I have been going to Shear Perfection for one year now and was extremely dissatisfied with my first "stylist". She didn't listen to my requests and did exactly what she thought I should have done. When she left I was ready to move on and try to find another salon. However, I decided to try someone else at the same salon instead. So glad that I did. Rene took time with me to select the color I desired and to go over the cut that "I" wanted. She listened to my requests and together we decided on the right color and cut for my hair. I was happily surprised by this place. I read the Yelp reviews and thought that this place should be alright, so I called wanting to make an appointment for the next day. No problem. I was booked with Jannet. She was great. I got the impression that they were not expecting the amount of time my hair would take to do (I have pretty long hair and was getting color and probably should have been more clear on the phone), but they accommodated me without making me feel rushed. Jannet took her time to make my hair look perfect. The other members of the salon staff seemed equally as good. I saw a variety of people while I was there - men, young women, retired women, in-between women, and they all left looking very nice. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to others and will definitely be going back. Also, the prices were very reasonable. I checked a lot of other salons in the area and this once was priced on par, if not a little cheaper. read more
