After a year and a half, we discovered some rot in the basement floor timbers which we realized COULD NOT be ignored. We came to learn of J&S Carpentry & Construction and of their reputation. We invited their president, Jeff Schultz, to take a look at the situation and to estimate the extent of the repairs required and their cost. Jeff provided a detailed repair estimate, and what seemed to us a fair cost, considering the vital nature of work. As is often the case, as Jeff began the work, he discovered the situation was more extensive than he'd foreseen. The repair, including replacement of the rotted timbers, required his installation of several pressurized timbers, all supported above the foundation by mortar. While the repairs, originally estimated to require 3 days, finally required 4, the work was professionally accomplished. With its complexity, we were grateful that we'd contracted a bona fide Construction professional to do this vital work. We now enjoy the confidence that our home has been returned to full health. We were impressed and comforted by how much of the repair work Jeff himself actually performed in this project. Jeff's by-line is "J&S stands for Job Satisfaction." The company they work with is StoneOne Marble and Granite. Larry, the contractor from Affordable showed up at 9:00 AM on time and began the prep work, removing all the old and doing the refacing. He coordinated with the guys from StoneOne who showed up on time the next day and did an EXCELLENT and precision job installing the countertops. They were amazingly efficient and out in less than three hours. Larry buttoned up and was out by 3:30. 28 cabinets, doors, and drawers and 3 cabinet sections with a under countertop sink all done and beautiful in LESS THAN @ DAYS! Wow! Looks like a new kitchen - and it was just over half what I originally thought it would be. Very pleased - well done!

Mike installed laminate flooring throughout the first floor and tiled our bathroom. When we returned, everything was in its place and the house was spotless. He didn't finish the job, we were left with the inner lip of our shower having no seal above the tile. The gap was big enough I could fit my fingers into it. Then he asked the painter to do caulk the lines by the ceiling which was his job. 4 months after we move in, our tile is cracked. Gee wonder why, would have nothing to do with the gaping hole you left in the seal, would it?

I felt like he was selling me a bag of crap and telling me it was chocolate. Their crew left my house in a shambles during demolition phase.
