This review is based on the customer service only. I did not purchase a shed through Eastern. I went to the site in Andover and the sales rep was extremely unfriendly. I'm not sure if it was due to the fact he was the only person there on a Saturday during their sale or if that's just how he is. I wanted to see the products and get a quote, his demeanor was rude and seemed like he had no interest in assisting me unless he knew I was placing the order. It was almost as if I had to pay then get my questions answered. When you're standing in a room with four other people and you're greeted with, "You going to buy a shed?" no hello or any other socially acceptable greeting. It seemed as if I was being singled out due to me appearing young. Was I going to buy a shed? Yes, I was prepared to place a deposit, if the product met my needs, that day. We just had the shed installed yesterday, and the two who installed it did a great job. They were quick and efficient and everything was done exactly to our specifications. We are very happy with the final product. The individuals we spoke to on the phone during the ordering process were pretty consistently unfriendly, which I found odd, but they were able to answer our questions for the most part. It took just over nine weeks for delivery after we ordered the shed. We ordered the shed through New England Outdoor, which is not the same company, and there is a pretty huge lack of communication between the two companies (whether we'd need a shed pad, whether the company could send someone out to install one, etc,). Most of this blame seems to fall with NEO, though, so I would highly recommend ordering directly through Eastern Shed. read more

Went in person to the Eastern Shed location in North Andover, MA on a Sunday without an appointment and they took me right away. The process was so easy, the sales person very helpful, and the result was a great shed. They even came to my house to make sure it would fit prior to ordering and were super responsive and easy to communicate with through out the process (before and after the order/deposit). It was delivered and installed without a hitch, and came in about 3-4 weeks after ordering (original timeline was 4-6 weeks, so it was really fast!). They aren't the cheapest sheds around, but they make the process so painless and have great service, you can even change your choices pretty much up until the time of delivery. Shed Quality = 4 Stars Installation = 4 Stars Value of shed vs cost = 3.5 Stars Initial Communication = 5 Stars Communication after they received my deposit and signed the agreement? = 1 Star Overall this ended up being a bit frustrating working with these folks. I went with this company because they happily agreed to run the permit for me. I am at work every day from 7am to 5pm and the permit office is open in between those hours. I asked around making the permit part of the quote process and because they were very willing to help out with this I went with them even though they were not the cheapest in price for quality sheds. they were great up front with communication. they replied to every email within an hour or two. Answered every question. They were prompt in showing up at the house to quote the job. However, the moment I signed the agreement and gave them a deposit, communication with them ground to a snails pace. 4 weeks of dragging feet to deal with applying for the permit, which once submitted was approved quickly by the town. In that time, rarely did an email get answered the first time and often after days when I sent a second or third query. I get that maybe dealing with the permit might have been a small hassle. But don't take a job based on something you don't want to do and are not willing to put 100% into - especially when the customer chooses you even though you are 10% - 15% more expensive than some other options. While the shed was very good quality and the initial experience was great - the follow up experience was painful enough as to cost a full 2 stars on this review. While the quality of the wood used in construction is very good, I was a little disappointed with how the shed was put together. If I was doing it myself, I would have used steel brackets to support the wall studs to the floor, roof to the walls, etc. Yes, they nailed everything but driving nails at 45 degree angles with some of them not quite connecting, is far less sturdy. I'm sure its fine but I can't help but find myself worrying about a strong wind storm. Should I have an opportunity to need to use their support (for some shed problem), then I will update this review with more details and perhaps different star rating. Who know's - maybe they can earn a star back if they come through if the shed needs service. read more

My experience with Eastern Shed Company couldn't have been better. I was real hesitant about going to a shed company because I figured the experience would be similar to going to a car dealership to buy a car, were the salesman swarm all over you and try to get you to buy something more than you need, but it just the opposite. When I went to look at the sheds I was free to browse around and look at the various sheds they had on the lot. When I made my decision, the salesman went over certain options with me and was excellent to deal with and I bought one right then and there. After six weeks I received a call from Eastern Shed and we went over every option to make sure everything was correct that I ordered. The day the shed came it was installed in three hours, the workers were polite, neat and did a great job.The shed is good quality and well built, my wife and I couldn't be happier and I wish I had done this sooner. I was told their queue was 8 weeks and they hit their date. I was contacted a week before the installation to confirm the build order. This is our second experience with Eastern Shed. Having run out of storage space, we were looking for a possible addition to our perfectly fine 10 yr old model. After months of research, we decided to try and replicate the quality we got the first time. Jared was terrific during the design process taking our rough ideas and turning them into what I "really wanted". He asked all the right questions to ensure we got the roofing and siding colors right and that the entrance door matched the other shed. These buildings are positioned side by side so symmetry was important. We bought a 16x20 Delmar with nearly every option they offered. Matt, Tim and Jake arrived at the crack of dawn on the coldest day of the year to start the construction. The old shed is terrific, but with upgraded construction techniques, the new unit is even better with a house construction feel. I purchased a 10x14 vinyl shed from Eastern Shed Co, and so far I'm very happy with it. Kevin came out to help me match my shed colors to my shutters and roof color. He also helped measure and pick the best spot for it. He did a perfect job. The men who came to install the shed were fantastic; they checked with me often to make sure I liked the positioning of the shed, location etc. They were extremely neat, efficient and thorough. Ordered the shed and arrived within a month. They did a fantastic job putting it together quickly. I marked in my yard where I wanted the shed placed. I also stated have it facing the driveway. One problem, they took the marks I made literally and angled it to left of the driveway. Their truck being in my back yard was blocking the view from my frontyard. I didn't notice the awkward angle until they drove away. I had to pay $80 for them to come back and adjust the angle and another $40 because my wife wanted it a few feet back as well. It would be great customer service to take the time out and confirm the position with the client once the base is put down. Having no knowledge of what the weight of a truck holding multiple sheds can do to a yard, I told them yes drive into my backyard. Now I have gutter lanes. With their experience they should have known what it would do to my lawn. I pray by next summer with the rain the yard will fix itself. read more

I am not rating the shed itself because after nearly 9 weeks of dealing with the North Andover office, I still don't have one!! From day 1 at the end of May, I emphasized how I needed this shed as quickly as possible. Somehow that didn't make it into their notes. And of course, they take a hefty deposit on day 1 so if we back out of dealing with them, we lose about $500. So we wait and wait, never hear from them, all summer goes by, and we still have no shed.One star for poor customer service. read more

I am extremely happy with all my dealings with the folks at Eastern Shed Company. The first person I dealt with was the salesman in Wilmington who took his time to explain and answer any question I had. I dealt next with the main office who were extremely knowledgeable and professional. I requested a site visit to make sure everything would fit the way I wanted. The visit was made and I was assured everything would be fine. I received a call when the shed was ready for delivery. Unfortunately, I could not accept the shed at that time but was told it could be delivered within a week of when I was ready. I called when I was ready and the shed was delivered. The installers were extremely polite and professional. When the floor was put together they checked with me to make sure the placement of the shed was correct. The two installers never took a break and worked in tandem. They were a fine representation of the company. When the job was completed and the installers were gone there were no scraps or rubbish left by them. I would reccommend Eastern Shed to anyone. read more

I had a 10x12 Gable Roof Shed with 12" extra height walls installed in June of 2012. It is now Jan of 2014 and the unit is holding up well. I have to admit I went further than some of the other reviewers went, based on their reviews in order to make sure everything went smooth. I needed the shed installed in a hurry after moving into our present house and their lead-time in June 2012 was 3 weeks where the largest supplier in the area Reed's Ferry Sheds was 3 months. Also the apples-to-apples price comparison was about 7% less for Eastern Shed which basically pays for sales tax. Also I didn't see Reed's Ferry Sheds offer the extra height option for the walls. 1. I marked off the location, and had a landscaper remove the grass and earth, level it off and install tons of gravel for a base. 2. Made sure they pointed the door and window sides correctly as they didn't "get it" from the diagrams that were sent. 3. I paid extra to avoid having their truck run over my property and had the installers hand carry everything. My installation was the first of the day and their truck must have had 6 or 8 sheds worth of material stacked up. 4. I avoided needing a permit by obeying the setbacks and ordered the maximum size building allowable without a permit. 5. I offered to pay extra on the spot for roofing underlayment but they talked me out of it probably due to the 6 or 8 sheds scheduled for installation after mine. The shingles go directly onto the wooden roof. I'll report back in 15 years;-) 6. The quality and precision of pre-manufactured sides, roof trusses, and prehung windows and doors helps avoid day-to-day quality issues in my opinion. They just do final assembly on site except for the base in my case. See #7. 7. My base had to be built on site because it was 10x12 and they did a very good job there. I ordered 12" centers on floor joists and pressure treated plywood floor 5/8" thick. 8. So I spent about $1,000 on upgrades and $600 for base preparation over and above the minimum price of this model. 9. The only issue was a handle hardware problem that was resolved with a mail shipment of the part a week later. read more
