What we appreciated the most, was he worked within our budget! This company is honest, punctual and believes the customer's satisfaction is their priority. Our final payment was not due until cabinets were installed and we were completely satisfied! unheard of in these times! One note, their location in Plaistow is upstairs. Don't be alarmed when you don't see a lavish showroom. This is why their prices are so competitive! Their showroom has everything you need to see. Our kitchen came out beautifully. If we only knew Skofield Builders, with their fantastic pricing, existed we wouldn't have waited 20 years!

The biggest centerpiece of the job being a full kitchen/dining room renovation, but also including fixing up a porch, half-bathroom, and installing a new custom-sized basement exterior door. Jim and his crew were great to work with. He was a very thoughtful planner, always thinking of little things to make our designs better (ex: "What if we extended the wainscoting around the corner to carry the flow?" and "We should use a larger handle on this cabinet so that it doesn't put stress on the wood.") He definitely has an eye for detail. He ran a tight ship, making sure that his crew cleaned up at the end of the day and organized all of their tools, as we were living in the house during the project and the last thing we wanted was a messy and hazardous area. Would definitely recommend to others.

I hired Louis and his team on February 28, 2025 for a $70,000 basement renovation. The agreement…read morewas that work would begin by early May and finish by early June. Instead, work did not start until mid-June and the project was not completed until mid-September. During the project, there were several significant issues: 1. Thermostat buried - At one point, the team plastered over the thermostat and forgot it was there. This required corrective work that should not have been necessary. 2. Plastering problems - The plaster work was uneven and needed to be reskimmed, which their GC, Matt, acknowledged. When Louis came to inspect, he became visibly frustrated, blamed the painters who were not responsible, and attempted to sand the walls by hand to demonstrate a prep issue. He also made negative remarks about the other workers present. I later apologized to the painters to smooth things over. Ultimately, I had to negotiate a compromise to have the walls corrected properly. 3. HVAC access - Instead of installing the contracted access door, a low-cost plastic cover was installed. This did not meet standard practices for a project of this scope. I requested that this work be completed properly, but no action has been taken to date. 4. Flooding - The crew overloaded the electrical outlet connected to the HVAC condensate pump, which tripped the breaker. Since the breaker was not reset, the pump remained off over the weekend and the basement flooded. Louis attempted to make us pay for a plumber to diagnose the issue, even though it was clearly caused by how the work was left. 5. Pest infestation - After the project concluded, a cockroach problem appeared in the basement storage areas. These areas had not previously had issues. After consulting an exterminator, it was determined that the likely source was construction materials brought in during the project. When I raised the issue, Louis stated "Good luck proving it was my fault" and hung up on me. Some of the team members -- Matt, Dave, and Junior -- did solid work and were professional to deal with. However, Louis frequently did not take accountability, did not resolve issues professionally, and shifted responsibility to others. Bottom line: If you are considering this company, I recommend reviewing other options. While the project was eventually completed, the delays, extra costs, and handling of issues made this a stressful experience.

What I especially liked was that Greg acted as a design consultant with the colors. It is my first first home so I needed reassurance. His painting crew did a meticulous job with transforming my new home. The other big project was securing structures in my cellar which was also done very efficiently. I was apprehensive about buying an historic home, but I have great confidence in Greg and his team as we proceed with all that needs to be done. The other thing I like is that I don't have to research other tradesmen, ie electricians, plumbers etc. Greg has sources that he works with and so I know I am hiring the best. I highly recommend Albion.

After a Servpro demolition team throughout all the damaged furniture, carpets, wall boards and wall insulation and treated for mold, I started looking to hire a construction company to rebuild: insulation, wall boards, damaged sub flooring, plastering, painting, flooring, and the damaged baseboard heating. His company went beyond the work I requested because they have a high standard of quality. They know you'll be living with the work they do. It's apparent from other reviews that this is a 5 star company.
