We just completed an attic bathroom buildout and bedroom renovation project with T&C Construction…read morein our extended family home in Gloucester. We had worked with T&C Construction in 2025 on a last-minute crumbling interior wall project, and then decided to hire them for this bigger project in 2026. From the outset, the owner Tom Velasquez and his crew of workers and subcontractors provided excellent service, high quality construction and recommendations, and continuous updates throughout the project. As a general contractor, Tom really takes the time to understand all the issues well and then executes perfectly. He is hands-on in his approach which is great and helpful to determining the best way to proceed and also how to work with the many city inspections involved. Our house is an older beloved generational home that is shared by many, and Tom was extremely patient working with a few of us at a time, and always with a positive approach. He ended up recommending a super-fast and excellent CAD designer who helped to get us through to the final design concept, which can be tricky with a lot of cooks in the kitchen. There were of course a number of unexpected issues that emerged during the buildout process, and we heard from Tom immediately with proposals and then solutions. Having run other house remodels with various general contractors, I would give Tom our highest rating. He is relaxed, confident, and will work to achieve the vision of his customers without any guff, and always leading with kindness and clarity. Hire him today--best decision ever!

SD Construction was hired to remodel a 3 season room, turning into a fully heated, insulated,…read moreusable space. The job entailed adding walls, siding, insulation, drywall, electrical, split unit installation, installing windows, and finish wood work. From the beginning, I was very happy with Scott and his team. I received the requested, itemized estimate within the time frame he gave me. We communicated mostly through email and the questions i had about the estimate and throughout the process were answered right away. During construction, when an existing wall was removed and wood rot was found, Scott talked us through the problem and laid out our options being very clear that the additional work, should we choose that route, would require additional cost. He was upfront about the additional costs (that are often unavoidable) and I felt that he always had the best interest of the project in mind. He wasn't looking for ways to increase cost but was honest when it was unavoidable. The project was completed in a timely manner and though construction brings its own sort of mess, the guys kept my yard and the area as neat and clean as possIble. The project was also completely in a reasonable time frame. If and when a delay occurred (weather, materials, etc) I was notified of it. In the end, I have an awesome new room, that demonstrates pride in workmanship and attention to detail. I would highly recommend SD Construction!

The biggest centerpiece of the job being a full kitchen/dining room renovation, but also including fixing up a porch, half-bathroom, and installing a new custom-sized basement exterior door. Jim and his crew were great to work with. He was a very thoughtful planner, always thinking of little things to make our designs better (ex: "What if we extended the wainscoting around the corner to carry the flow?" and "We should use a larger handle on this cabinet so that it doesn't put stress on the wood.") He definitely has an eye for detail. He ran a tight ship, making sure that his crew cleaned up at the end of the day and organized all of their tools, as we were living in the house during the project and the last thing we wanted was a messy and hazardous area. Would definitely recommend to others.

What I especially liked was that Greg acted as a design consultant with the colors. It is my first first home so I needed reassurance. I was apprehensive about buying an historic home, but I have great confidence in Greg and his team as we proceed with all that needs to be done. The other thing I like is that I don't have to research other tradesmen, ie electricians, plumbers etc. Greg has sources that he works with and so I know I am hiring the best.
