It seemed fair and he was using Benjamin Moore paint so we hired him. Barreto got the job done in two days when we were out of town a week later. He did a great job and we have no complaints. I would hire him again.

Avoid this company at all costs, you will be left with a half finished job. If you're thinking…read moreabout hiring Barreto and blessed painting, in a word, DON'T. You will be messed around for weeks, delayed and ultimately disappointed. Working with this guy is the height of frustration. But, lets be fair and present a balanced review; Let me start with the positives - Called Barreto on a Wednesday, he picked up and arranged to meet me that night, at 530pm. He arrived at my house at 5pm, early, a good start! - Barreto started the work in good faith with no payment upfront. - The bid that Barreto came in with was at the upper level of competing bids. We needed a new ceiling hung and plaster applied over the sheetrock. Although he was coming in on the high end, he could start that saturday, so we agreed on the price, shook hands and ill see you saturday @ 8am - The two guys that arrived at 8am were pleasant enough. They laid down their protective equipment (they used my plastic and painters tape though!) for the floor and off they went cutting and installing the ceiling. After a quick break, they started plastering the ceiling. They started at 8am and they were done by 130pm, it looked good. excellent! That's were the positives ended. Lets get to the negatives and the real reason you should look elsewhere, anywhere, for a painting contractor. After the ceiling was installed, I spoke to Barreto about painting the ceiling, the walls, prepping and painting all the trim work. He gave me a price, it was good, the lowest bid that we have received. I gladly accepted his offer and he said when the plaster is dry his guys could come back and finish the job. This was October 8th. what happened between 8th October and 3rd November was 20+ text messages, phone calls, emails to Barreto, the majority which were ignored. All i was asking was "when can you come back to finish" and i would receive a response "i'm busy, sorry" "we are busy, we will get back to you" "we are busy until January, you can get another company to finish it if you like". JANUARY!!! WTH????? no one is that busy. After much thought it became obvious that he had underbid on the cost estimate for the painting and didnt want to commit to it. The painting, with all the sanding and prep work, was a two day job, easily. He was willing to offer one day of work for the quote he had bid. This wasnt going to work, he didnt want to do the work because he had underbid on two guys working 16 hours on a job and wouldnt make any money, and i wasnt willing to let him rush the job, compressing two days of work into one day. It would have looked terrible, rushed and unprofessional. Overall, i think Barreto and blessed painting are kinda shady. At one point he asked me to "leave your door open, you dont need to be there when we are painting" who in their right mind would leave 2-3 virtual strangers in their home for 8 hours? no one, i dont care who you are and how trusting you are. So here we are the job half finished, the ceiling has imperfections that i will now have to pay someone else to deal with and will have to contract another company to actually come and finish the paint job. I simply wouldnt hire Barreto or recommend him to anyone. There are literally dozens of painting contractors in the Boston area, i went to Blessed painting and Barreto because of the 4 star reviews on YELP. However, if you look closely, you'll see that no one has reviewed his company in over a year and i can only assume people are having the same bad experiences with him. Look elsewhere, trust me.

DJ and his crew were meticulous in the two jobs they have completed for us so far…read more The first job was a really difficult stain job on bare stairs built into an addition. It required back breaking sanding, filling nail holes and preparation for stain. Then the stain and poly coat both had to be zero VOC for an allergy in the family. DJ worked so hard to make this request happen and look as good as easier products available for an everyday job. The stain color is a perfect match to what I had explained I wanted and the stairs look gorgeous. In the next job, DJ painted the new trim, doors, cabinets, touched up the addition room as well as painted our existing kitchen to tie it all together. He went out of his way to smooth out some rough plaster work from the drywall crew and again remembered to use zero VOC products. The painting work is so meticulous and no brush marks are visible anywhere. And the clean up was as if we had hired someone to come in and clean. Highly recommend Prestige Coatings for any painting and will be using them again soon. Prices are reasonable especially for the quality of work you receive.

Understanding that businesses are extremely behind in work I did not fault them for not starting around the time that they stated they would. My quote included pressure wash of the entire house exterior and one of two decks as well as deck stain and paint trim (to trim that was wood). We conversed with each other to verify colors. I reached out to inform them that the deck was not pressure washed. They gave me a response indicating when it might get done. My deck was NEVER pressure washed prior to the stain application. I'm sure this must play into the fact that there are areas that are not evenly stained (or brush vs sprayer??). They specifically asked me for the color of my trim. I informed them that it was an off white/cream color. They stated they would color match. Not only was the metal on my house painted (which I did not want to have happened) but it was painted stark white! Additionally they did not paint ALL of the metal trim. The trim along the top edge on every side was not done. Which, if it was the correct color, wouldn't matter but because it isn't, it stands out like a sore thumb. There was damage to the trim around one of my second floor windows. The strapping along side the fireplace was also not replaced even after I raised this as an issue. The amount of paint chips that were left following the house being pressure washed was outrageous! If I had known that this was going to happen, I may have been able to prepare more appropriately. I have damaged plants; burnt grass from paint on my lawn, random rags left behind etc. The list continues. While the painting itself was done well; all of these other factors have overshadowed the good work. It would have been nice for someone to check in when the job was complete to ensure we were satisfied. None of this happened. I can not provide a positive review nor do I feel comfortable recommending this business to others moving forward. I emailed them to articulate my concerns and I received no response.
