They did a beautiful job painting the exterior of our house. The crew was quiet and there was always someone who understood what I was saying, even if their first language wasn't English. To make sure they had done a great job on the painting, they took the extra step of carefully checking over the house and painting in any small areas that had been missed. They also were great about cleaning up (we needed a lot of scraping!) and very careful about not damaging the bushes near the house. The price was reasonable for the quality of the work. read more

Initially this company was quick to respond providing me the quote and gave a rough estimate of when the work would begin. Understanding that businesses are extremely behind in work I did not fault them for not starting around the time that they stated they would. My quote included pressure wash of the entire house exterior and one of two decks as well as deck stain and paint trim (to trim that was wood). We conversed with each other to verify colors. I reached out to inform them that the deck was not pressure washed. They gave me a response indicating when it might get done. My deck was NEVER pressure washed prior to the stain application. I'm sure this must play into the fact that there are areas that are not evenly stained (or brush vs sprayer??). They specifically asked me for the color of my trim. I informed them that it was an off white/cream color. They stated they would color match. Not only was the metal on my house painted (which I did not want to have happened) but it was painted stark white! Additionally they did not paint ALL of the metal trim. The trim along the top edge on every side was not done. Which, if it was the correct color, wouldn't matter but because it isn't, it stands out like a sore thumb. There was damage to the trim around one of my second floor windows. The strapping along side the fireplace was also not replaced even after I raised this as an issue. The amount of paint chips that were left following the house being pressure washed was outrageous! If I had known that this was going to happen, I may have been able to prepare more appropriately. I have damaged plants; burnt grass from paint on my lawn, random rags left behind etc. The list continues. While the painting itself was done well; all of these other factors have overshadowed the good work. It would have been nice for someone to check in when the job was complete to ensure we were satisfied. None of this happened. Recently we contracted Steve from Leggs Painting LLC to paint the exterior of our home. During this process we have determined that Steve Legg operates his company based on high integrity, communication, professionalism and strong customer satisfaction values. Steve provided his personal hands on approach from beginning to end. It all began with an interview with us to determine our needs. In that meeting we discussed scheduling, carpentry repairs, prepping and painting our home. Steve then provided us with a comprehensive software based drawing of our home, its dimensions and the estimated cost for the work. His highly skilled and experienced team of carpenters/painters were extremely thorough with incredible attention to detail. If they identified a problem or concern, they quickly brought it to our attention and then worked with us to determine the best and most cost effective solution. Once the work was completed the team performed a final clean up and walk-through with us to ensure our satisfaction with the work performed. The project, although impacted by numerous weather related delays was completed to our total satisfaction last week. We couldn't be happier with the end result. All work was completed on budget based on Steve's estimates. Legg Painting impressed me and my wife. They provided the best quote of the 3 quotes I received for interior painting of 6 rooms including a two story foyer and large kitchen. Steve Legg's business practices are excellent, he is always on time and was honest with when the job would be started and completed. He communicated with me in a timely manner. This rating is for a house I owned in Bedford NH. In some respects, I'd give Steve 4 or 5 stars. Steve (the owner) was very cooperative and accommodating. He worked with me to find an option that would fit within my budget, and tried to accommodate my schedule. I was very pleased until the first day his crew arrived. On the first day, the supervisor left the job site (apparently to go do a job unrelated to Legg's painting). He left the one worker (who couldn't speak much English) unsupervised for most of the day, and then he arrived late to pickup his worker. I called Steve, who apologized for his supervisor's bad judgment. My wife had to stay at the house into the evening hours waiting for the worker to be picked up. The next day a different person was helping the worker who was there the 1st day. This other person clearly had more experience, and the additional help allowed them to finish on time. Unfortunately, Steve never came to the site himself to follow-up on the finished product. When I inspected the work I found a lot of small (picture hanging) nails that hadn't been removed, and similar less-than-professional painting practices. The worker with limited English skills painted around several wall plates (instead of removing them). I called Steve and we agreed on a resolution, but if he had gone to the site himself (or sent a supervisor), any issues would have been addressed immediately. I understand that owners often have to use subcontractors in order to grow their business, but the owner and his business are ultimately judged by the quality & professionalism of their subcontractors. They need to inspect the work, and make sure their brand & image is not tarnished because of a problem with a sub. I really liked Steve and he was very accommodating, but he is ultimately responsible for his crew and subs. read more

We hired Leggs to paint our entryway, living room, hallway, landing and a closet. Sadly, they were booked for a while and we had to wait. They gave the best quote of the two quotes I had obtained. I saw someone else commented about the crew that came out not speaking much English. The crew that came to our house spoke Portuguese. Neither my husband, nor I, spoke Portuguese, but that was no issue with us. There was a crew leader who came out and then left (again no issue). The crew was professional, polite and did a good job. A couple of times we had a tiny language issue, which was resolved using a translator app. The crew kept asking if we were happy with the work. We had a couple areas that needed to be addressed close to the end of the day and everything came out great. We would definitely hire them again. Don't let the fact that English may not be the first language of some of the crew stop you from hiring Leggs. The employees will make sure they do what it takes to communicate with you. The crew leader did return and make sure we were happy. I'd highly recommend them. Even if you have to wait, it's worth it. read more
