The quote appeared reasonable and due to the Covid-19 pandemic outside work was the company's preference. To our surprise work started two weeks earlier than originally stated. The existing deck was removed in one day and trucked away. Some structural damage to the area beneath the original ledger board was identified and approval was given for the additional work. Structural repairs and construction of the new deck progressed smoothly over the course of two weeks. The crew was professional and a pleasure to have in our backyard during construction. We are very pleased with our new deck (including a complimentary addition of a bird house on the top of a deck post).

I had some large gaps in the flashing around the chimney. He gave me what I consider to be a fair ballpark quote, and then his team showed up two days later to complete the repair. Looks great and, though we haven't had much rain, I don't see any sign of further leaking. The bill was very close to his estimate. I found them to be responsive, knowledgable, and professional. Within 24 hours, I had a very thorough/detailed estimate for my new roof project. Between the other good reviews on yelp + the great first impression + the excellent quote, Queen City Roofing won my business. They quickly completed my new roof in one day, took payment via credit card and even sent a progression of photos as they roofed my home. I suspect they'll win your business, too!

I first got a quote from Vaillancourt Roofing for about $34,500 when my sister told me that we…read moreshould look at Queen City Roofing. As I researched them, their reputation was stellar. We went with them, and the final cost was $19,500. Both quotes had a 50-year warranty, and the only differences were that Vaillancourt put a 4' higher layer of the neoprene (I think) barrier, and they used Owens Corning shingles. Even though I do not know the names of name-brand shingles, I am 100% sure that Queen City Roofing also used an excellent brand, if for no other reason than they do not want to come back to do repairs. Anyway, those two little differences were not worth $15,000!! I also recommend using their recommended finance company as they were much easier to get what amounts to a high-dollar personal loan, than through my bank, for only 1% higher interest rate. Anyway, when they finally did the job, I was worried about how many nails would be left on the ground. Well, they did an incredible cleanup job. Based on the quotes I mentioned, you can imagine we have a very large roof, and so far, I have found 6 nails. They had 12 guys working that day, and did the whole roof in one day. They started at 7 a.m., and were done by 4:30! I cannot recommend them enough.

Rorrie responded immediately to my call after high winds caused extensive roof damage to my home. The insurance company recommended that I hire a contractor to make emergency repairs to prevent further damage until roof could be replaced after winter season. Knowing the imminent threat of more severe weather, CCE came out only days later to complete the temporary repairs. This gave me peace and reassurance given the situation. Such outstanding professionalism , compassion, and care was demonstrated... these emergency repairs were made on Christmas Eve! Thank you, Rorrie and team for not only coming to the rescue and being a top-notch roofer but for being a truly amazing person and someone you can trust. Best to you

We had several other contractors who told us wehad to replace the entire side of the house, even though it appeared the damagewas in one specific area. Rorrie said they could fix it without having to rip everythingout. We had a few calls before the work was done where he explained everything in greatdetail (and with great patience). The work itself is complete, and the siding looks great. Theypulled back the areas that needed work, replaced the plywood that was rotted, and even helped buttress some of the framing. They then covered everything backup and repainted. At the end, they also walked around the house to point outany potential things to watch out for or that need attention. I definitely plan to use them again to fix any future siding issues that come up! Great work at a very good price! Highly recommend!

The relationship with John quickly deteriorated after we questioned the build out of the porch roof…read moreand framework for the stairs that did not match the initial agreement. I had questions on when he would be able to finish the work defined in the original scope because we were approaching the timeline for the material delivery with inclement weather in the forecast. After reconfirming the preferred material multiple times and following up to make sure the order was placed, we had to ask if enough material was ordered when we noticed the inventory that was delivered looked lighter than what would be required to complete the work. I was gaslit and told I was micromanaging when asking for follow up and accountability. After pushing for follow through, he sent his team to collect their tools and walked off the job on a holiday. He left unfinished work and low and behold, there was not enough material for us to have another contractor follow through. While he will likely deny the review, we are writing to warn others before you experience the same outcome. (Photos included of the issues left behind) Update as of 7.17.23: - The ceiling of the roof he installed is now falling down. - The walls are leaking after the first bad storm. - The posts are not to code, so we have to go back to the building inspector for follow up. Update as of 7.5.23: This is a short list of the issues that another contractor pointed out from the work he completed. - Stairs were not built correctly, so they will need to be rebuilt. The risers and kickboards that were left on the stairs are dented and will need to be replaced. - Vinyl siding needs to be tightened as it blows in the wind at the bottom and at the top next the second floor porch. Installed the incorrect piece for the bottom of the vinyl siding on both porches and the bottom of the house. - Not enough screws in the decking, which would not pass final inspection and the screws used were too long and would puncture the roof causing leaking down the road. - Missing material: 8 panels of decking, 1 porch railing, 1 stair railing, 6 post skirts, no azek to finish off the trim, missing vinyl siding where a hole was left (but he said "all the material is there, and $1000 would cover anything else, so we could call it even.")
