So, I said I need a history for the last 10-15 years. I was cheerily told to just come on in and they would do that. I immediately went in to be told I can get 3 years only. And, I quote the pharmacist here: " So if you need more you will need to call your insurance and I know that sounds like a pain in the a*$ but that's all Walgreens will do. So I used AI to know better and As surely as God Almighty lives, I found the form for requesting the records by fax or email to a Walgreens which is set up for this purpose. Should a pharmacist be so sure to be so unsure and unprofessional with their speech? I appreciate you reading and doing well for yourself so advise another pharmacy and location if you want folks to direct you with real knowledge...about things pertaining to their job and/or Reason, in general.

Why five stars? One one occasion when they didn't have the medicine we needed, one of the pharmacists actually put on his coat and drove to another pharmacy to get it... WHILE WE WAITED! Is that awesome customer service. They have also stayed open for an extra ten minutes when I had to get my son's medication but couldn't make it there before closing. Can you believe that? What you get at ABD is old fashioned service that I thought perished from this planet in the 1950's. They smile, they are good natured and they will always do what ever they have to in order to get you your script, and all with a great attitude. I can't thank them enough!

I'm amazed by how huge this store was and the variety of everything you could ever need and more. I also liked that there are different sections that have Maine Made items and that there are little signs that say "local" if you wanted to pick up some regional items. I really wanted to pick up some fresh Maine milk, and Maple BBQ sauce, but unfortunately since I was at the tail end of my roadtrip I couldn't take much expect for a small bag of salt and vinegar potato chips and my sandwich bags; however, if I come back to Portland, I'll know where I can buy some regional goodies!

I would love to see this location expand the local and international offerings, and maybe have some kind of newsletter? Their automated system. I know this is a little thing, but it's so nice to know that I never need to check-in on those recurring prescriptions to make sure they've actually gone through. I get texts letting me know when things are ready, and phone calls from real people if I don't come in within a few days past when they can see my prescription has run out. If they do have to restock my prescription because I totally flaked and didn't come in, it takes just minutes for them to put the order back together. 2. The people who work. Time and time again I've seen them demonstrate patience, responsibility and respectfulness, and going the little extra mile with their regulars (to really get to know them and work with them). I've never been upsold, I've never been talked down to, and my privacy has always been taken very seriously. Whenever a concern comes up, I know I can talk to the pharmacist and get a real answer from a real person. I said it before, and I'll say it again: I know that pharmacies aren't necessarily the sexiest or coolest things in the world to a) talk about or b) go to, but everybody needs them. And THIS is the place in town that's going to keep you sane and healthy so you can go do all those sexy, cool things you want to do! Had an absolutely atrocious experience with one of the pharmacists here by the name of Matt. he was…read morean older gentleman with a very unhelpful manner and incredibly unpleasant attitude. after being jerked around between the Marginal Way and Forest Ave locations to pick up a prescription, I went back into the Forest Ave location to pick up a prescription i had requested *in person* with a far more helpful and kind pharmacist by the name of Sarah. When i got there to pick up the prescription, Matt told me that there was nothing in my profile. upon further prompting by me, he told me this prescription was closed, and that Marginal Way had it. when i asked him if it'd be easier for me to just go to that pharmacy instead he replied in a snarky tone, "Probably" and then informed me that they were on the phone with Marginal Way to have that order voided so that the Forest Ave location could fix it. I asked him how long he thought it'd be as i had a meeting coming up and had expected this to be a quick visit. he told me "30 minutes after they cancel it", which was seemingly his only response when i asked him for a ballpark of the total time including cancellation, i.e. how long that normally takes to process, and when i told him i wasn't sure i'd be able to wait that long and would have to come back, (which would've been fine, i just needed to know whether or not i'd need to) another pharmacist said something i couldn't fully hear and he told me "ok 15 minutes." when my prescription was ready and i went to pay, he took me to a register, then moved to a different one without saying a word. his coworker told me if i just followed him over there he could help me. i went over to him and he gruffly asked for my address and phone number. i asked to use Apple Pay as that's what i always use at these pharmacies, he told me "this register doesn't do that" so i asked my friend if she had her wallet, and she said she'd have to run to the car quickly. he then walked away without saying anything. i was about to run out to my car and rejoin the line, because ultimately that one was my fault. His coworker, Sarah, very kindly took over the transaction at her register, which was equipped with a standard card reader. She then ensured everything was correct and cashed me out. All in all, a nightmarish experience, only made harder by Matt's utter disregard for basic communication and manners

The store itself is I think the best on the peninsula (some of the others are, ahem, not so nice), and the staff is always friendly and will go out of their way to help you find things you need. And I *love* the pharmacy here! My prescriptions are always filled within a day or two (sometimes even the same day after being called in), and all of the staff doing vaccinations is terrific. Recently they called me to check up on upcoming boosters I needed to schedule, which I really appreciate, and they'll walk you through any info you might need about side effects. Drugstores are one of those things we sometimes don't give much thought to, but when you find a good one like this, you definitely want to keep coming back.
