This particular Walgreens is my local, and I've been coming here for 3 years now for my day-to-day drugstore things as well as my vaccinations. The store itself is I think the best on the peninsula (some of the others are, ahem, not so nice), and the staff is always friendly and will go out of their way to help you find things you need. And I *love* the pharmacy here! My prescriptions are always filled within a day or two (sometimes even the same day after being called in), and all of the staff doing vaccinations is terrific. Recently they called me to check up on upcoming boosters I needed to schedule, which I really appreciate, and they'll walk you through any info you might need about side effects. Drugstores are one of those things we sometimes don't give much thought to, but when you find a good one like this, you definitely want to keep coming back. read more

Walgreens is an impulse shoppers dreamscape. Every time I go in there I plan on buying 1 item and leave with 30. The staff at this Walgreens are very friendly and always helpful! I have never been at this store and felt like the staff didn't want to be there and be helping me with my weird purchases (yesterday was Easter candy- not weird. Last time I bought 5 bags of brown sugar, a mop, and cold medicine-weird). The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because it is always packed! 10 people deep line and most don't smell fresh. I always feel the desire to slip deodorant into people's baskets. I really want there to be multiple registers open when there are so many people in line. read more

If you haven't been to a Walgreens before, my guess is you live in the boonies or you have never stepped outside of your home. 75 percent of Americans are within 6 miles of a Walgreens, so chances are you slim that you haven't been inside one. What I love the most about Walgreens is their prices. They are almost always less expensive than your competitor drug stores, Rite Aid or CVS. I love couponing here!! :) Also, their rewards program is pretty sweet if you shop here often! Plus, you can score a ton of freebies on Black Friday! A super positive about Walgreens is their multiple contributions to charities throughout the year and their support to local foundations in the area. Specifically, this Walgreens and the one on Forest Avenue just finished celebrating Lobster day to support Robbie foundation, which helps children and young adults with developmental disabilities throughout Maine. They raised the money to buy adaptive equipment, therapy treatments and other services that are not covered by insurance. Walgreens employees even delivered to businesses if they placed 10 or more order of lobster rolls. How sweet is that! I have a lot of respect for big businesses that are socially responsible and exhibit corporate conscience! PS Yes, I might have a slight bias towards Walgreens since I work for them. I stopped there the other morning at 8am to get some stuff and also to drop something across the street at the UPS store. I decided to go to the UPS store first, but was accosted by the manager who told me I had to move my car because it was private property. I explained that I was going to UPS and then to Walgreen's. He didn't budge. There was only one car in the parking lot (40 spaces?) and it was mine, but the idiot manager wouldn't listen, even as I tried to reason with him regarding proper customer service. He then became more and more aggressive in his tone, demanding that I get my car out of the lot. It's hard to believe that any manager could be so incredibly obtuse as to be that rude to a customer. This Walgreens is close to where I live, and go to school. My experience with both the retail and the pharmacy staff has always pleasant. They try to accommodate my weird schedule for monthly prescription pickups, ask about how my school/life is going, and one employee shows a lot of fun/flair by dying her hair regularly. These might seem like unimportant observations, but it makes sure we always have something to chat about... I think last month it changed from aqua blue to "Walgreens Red".... LOL... All I am saying is that event hough this is a chain pharmacy, the staff at this location still makes me feel like a valued customer every time I am there. read more

I think everybody in the store gives excellent assistance! They will come from around the counter to help you find an item! The pharmacist is great always willing to give advice about a medication but there is one fairly new employee he's an older man possibly in his 50's he has gray hair that he keeps it kind of long in the back he usually works the front cash register he's rude and has horrible customer relations! I asked to have the 4 items I was buying separated n showed him what I mean he didn't do it so I asked if it would separate when I used cash for part of the total n the rest on the credit card he said it would separate which it didn't so he stood there staring at me and I said we'll ring it in separately he stated that he couldn't do that??? What do you mean you can't do that pretend I'm 2 people and we're both only paying for 2 items each???!!! He was huffing n puffing while ringing it in when I was finished paying he made a comment which I don't remember unfortunately which I replied I told you that you could do it.. lol! I fully intend to get his name next time I'm there so I can make a formal complaint he shouldn't be working with the public!! The rest of the employees there have always been nothing but kind and courteous and they know their job description and execute it in a friendly and quick manner!! read more

Went here when I was sick to pick up meds, the pharmacist was rude and treated me like a piece of garbage - on 2 separate visits! Wanted me to spend twice as much as necessary to get my meds. Worst customer service in memory. Never going back. read more

This Walgreens is convenient to Trader Joe's, USM, and World Gym. Nice to have in the area to pick up prescriptions. The Pharmacists/ staff are very nice and helpful! One of the pharmacists at this Walgreens is just miserable all the time. He wouldn't crack a smile or say thank you if his life depended on it. It's also unfortunate that I perceive to be treated differently based on the medicine I am picking up. I mentioned this to the other pharmacist and reminded him that if he is treating me differently based on what kind of medicine I am picking up it would be discrimination. I would go elsewhere but this is the only pharmacy around that carries the particular manufacturer of one of the medicines I take and is the only one I have found I am not allergic to. read more

I wanted to write a review of Walgreens on Marginal Way because I have been a frequent customer for almost a year and there are two employees that truly stand out to me that I have received outstanding service from. One employee would be a woman named Saido who has worked there since I started visiting the store. Saido is kind, and helpful. She has always been friendly and has provided great customer service to me with a smile. I always enjoy seeing her at the front counter when she is working. The other employee who I believe was hired recently is named Andy. Andy went above and beyond for me the other day to go out back and check on a product that I needed that wasn't on the shelves, and sure enough was able to provide me with the product I needed with a positive attitude. Andy is very polite and has exceptional customer service skills. I hope that these employees get the recgonition they deserve. I am reviewing this walgreens location as four stars simply because one night while I was shopping I watched a female manager yelling at an employee in front of customers over a register error of some sort which I found highly inappropriate. Regardless of the questionable management, I just wanna say thank you to all the wonderful walgreens employees over at the marginal way location! I appreciate everything you do for me. read more
