FIRST I WANT TO THANK THE WOMEN BEHIND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE COUNTER I BELIEVE HER NAME IS " CANDACE", very understanding and extremely great customer service associate! I asked for her assistance and without hesitation she made it happen! I was complaining about one of the Meat Section Butcher whom I never seen before and I come here very often about where a certain food item where it was located he then pointed and "mumbled", something inaudible so I walked over where I think he pointed and did not see it. I went back to ask him again and he was "annoyed and abrupt" with his reply and pointed to the Turkey Balloon near the Seafood! Let me premise this by saying I told him first "I have a hard time seeing". So I never want to ever deal with this person again and he should be ashamed of himself! The Seafood Section has a helpful and kind older gentleman behind the counter he came out and helped me and I told him what transpired and his response to me was that.....that butcher had several customers asking him questions. So he must have been at his wits end! THANK YOU TO THE SEAFOOD COUNTER GENTLEMAN AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSOCIATED! They are truly an asset to this Market! Plus the many MEAT DEPARTMENT ASSOCIATES THERE WHO WORK HARD MAKING THAT DEPARTMENT FULLY STOCKED AND ORGANIZED THANK YOU! As for the only ONE MEAT ASSOCIATED, a little patience and understanding for those who might be dealing with health issues or not.... BE NICER TO ALL! I go to this Shaw's multiple times a week and for AT LEAST the past 3 months the toilet paper holder in the bathroom has been broken. For some wild reason, the people working there choose to put the toilet paper either on top of the trash can or on the handicap rail that people touch with their dirty hands. Not to mention last month I went in there and there was actual SH*T ON THE TOILET ROLL. This is absolutely disgusting and the people working here should be ashamed of themselves. I understand a week or two going by if they are waiting for a replacement dispenser but clearly the employees just don't care about proper hygiene. It's really too bad because the produce selection is way better than the stop and shop down the street. PLEASE FIX THIS!! read more

It wouldn't be so bad but their sister store Star Market the next city over had the same problems when I went shopping there earlier in the week. Please do better, especially with the prices of food. Went to Shaws four days before my daughter's birthday wanting a Barbie doll cake. I was told to bring the doll in and they would be able to make the cake excited that it would be exactly what she would love bought the dog and forgot to bring it to Sharas brought the doll same day as the birthday I knew that it was last minute said to them if they could make it today that be great if not, tomorrow's OK to not taking away that it was Veterans Day and I was very thankful if they could get it done well when I got the Barbie doll cake back it wasn't as I thought it would be I notice that the writing was on the cardboard and noticed that the brand new Barbie doll that I had handed over to her to make the cake was brushed out, causing a frizzy mess the cake cost $50 and I felt like there were mistakes immediately upon pick up. I gave the Baker free range on decoration of the dress and of the outside of the cake. I asked for vanilla and chocolate cake on the inside. I didn't ask for a hairdo didn't ask for it to be combed out or braided so upon pick up I said that I would still buy the cake but it wasn't what I expected and what did she do to the hair the store managers discounted it turning it into $25 acknowledging there was something weird going on with the hair. I was satisfied with that and walked out. Excited to still have a cake and OK with having had pay $25 I could've just taken my doll out of the cake and left the whole cake and said never mind but I know the person was just trying to help to my surprise. I thought that was the end of that I get a text message from, the cake decorator, asking me in a demanding way is there a problem because I felt like this was aggressive after seeing the text the next day because I was busy I responded in a critiquing type of way I was gonna leave it alone, but I did say that I was not happy with the cake, and that the dolls hair was out of place and combed out and in the cake wasn't as ecstatically pleasing as I thought it would be and then I bought another kit from her and she does good work I mean she asked if there was a problem so after stating my opinions, she then called me low class and first of all how is she texting me on my private line and then being disrespectful the supervisor already fix the situation I offered to give her a $50 tip for her efforts but still agreed that it wasn't ecstatically pleasing and that I've seen better work she didn't goes into what she assumed I was, and that I would need the money more than her she was very judgmental and I think that Jade and her ability to make the cake when I got home and we cut the cake open the cake wasn't even what we had asked for. It was all chocolate when we clearly had asked for chocolate it up white this wasn't even part of the complaint for the discount, but in fact, is a big mistake her got the order completely wrong. On top of the cake being ugly and the hair being combed out she called me a low class citizen, so did she think because she assumed that I was a low class or I am she thought I was going to settle for trash again. This whole situation was over once the store gave me the discount she text my phone and started harassing me. read more

This location is much preferred over the Weymouth and Quincy one. The deli needs some help in regards to positive attitudes. There is now two women who i hope i get every time because they always serve you with a smile and simply get your order. When i ask for meat thinly sliced, they do it! The gentleman always look like it pains them to do their jobs, and just dont understand when someone says "super thin" it means...super thin! Pros: Well Lit and Clean Store. Cons: They are always running out of same things. The stock is badly managed and the problem is not fixed even after bringing it to the attention of the staff. The prices are not as good as competitors either. If I was corporate I would pay closer attention at their inventory management scorecards for this store. I went to shaw tonight instead of Big Y because they charge for bags. I am tired of paying. The employee's at shaws tonight were awesome. The deli kid was great and the cashier was very nice. However, I packed my own bags and only 1 register open. Was a good size line and the cashier was telling the customers to go to the self check out. This is the filthiest most poorly run grocery store I have ever been in. The conveyor belts at all registers are stained and most are badly frayed at the edges. I don't even like putting my food on them. They constantly run out of paper bags. Most of the employees are very nice. They run weekly ads but never replenish anything when they run out. I don't believe there is a manager in this store anymore. I heard the last one quit. haven' seen a new one yet. read more

Horrible market. Should be closed down for all of their health code failures. Check all of the dates on anything you buy here as I discovered that the jar of bacon salsa I bought here was over 3 years expired. Very much done with this store. Note that they just removed the gluten free section from this store and most of the gluten free items they used to carry they no longer have... So instead they have vast sections of empty shelving units. Also note that this store is very dirty and many of the meat cases haven't been sterilized in years. read more

Wow, this Shaw's surprises me every time with the great customer service. My wife has a lot of great feedback as she is more of a regular customer than I am. Their produce dept, seafood dept and customer service desk have been great every time. Super fast, fun, accommodating team! The only constructive feedback is sometimes longer wait times for the deli department. However this seems to be common in most supermarkets. 5 stars for sure on prices, variety and customer feedback! read more

Unfortunately, I had to give this store 1 star. If I didn't have to pick one, it would get 0 stars! The prices here are outrageous! I bought some fruit, yogurt, cheese, and bread and it cost me $92.00!!! That is price gouging. No way what I bought should have cost that. The store was clean, but that's about all it had going for it. To make matters worse, I get home with my $92.00 fruit only to find that some of the strawberries I bought were moldy! That is inexcusable to charge those prices and sell moldy fruit. The customer service people were teenagers and knew very little to nothing about customer service when I went to take the strawberries back for a refund. I don't know how they stay in business. Next time, I will shop at my usual, Market Basket in Brockton. It's further away, but I get so much more and the produce is much better. read more

I'm giving 1 stars because of the people who work at this location. They work really hard and always try to do the right thing for the customer!! If it wasn't for them this store would not be worth your time. Everytime we shop there it's an adventure as far as the sale prices and whether your mymixx number will work. Today no different, I bought several items clearly on sale since Friday last week, surprise 2 of them didn't ring up on sale. Now it's been 6 days these have rung up wrong. 6 days Shaws Braintree have been ripping off or have been trying to ripp off their customers. I saw, brought it to their attention and got the refund on the items. Though I had to wait another 20 minutes for them to verify. The management of this store needs to get personally involved in ensuring this doesn't occur anymore. It really is becoming a common practice!! read more

Customer service is non existence, Cashers talk about how bad the last customer was in front of you, when their not saying how bad their job sucks. Check the date on everything you buy, I've pointed out twice when buying salad dressing and all I was told is that someone will look into it never asked what kind or what section which tells me they are not going to check anything after I left. Don't bother with the CS manager it's like he's doing you a favor if you asks anything of him. Not sure why the Tall manager who used to be there was moved to Brockton? I prefer this Shaws to the one in my home town (Next Town over) simply because it's super convenient for me durning the day and I never have a issue with this store being crowded unless it's around holidays... I also don't have to worry about when I come out of the store that you will be pan handled by someone always asking for "Change" or a "Cigarette" as I do almost every time I exit my hometown Shaw's... the staff is always pretty helpful when needed and the stock inside the store is always being done so you never have to worry about something f being out of stock... lastly the plaza that this Shaw's is in also has a number of other stores that is super convenient as well..... read more

This place is awful. I called about a month ago to have a fundraiser to find a cure for certain digestive diseases (it was for a walk) and I call today because the fundraiser was suppose to be tomorrow, the manager says rudely "You have to fill out paperwork so I don't know why she wouldn't tell you that". When I called the lady said that I was all set for April 24th to fundraise. Thanks shaws, really helping out chronic illnesses (sarcasm) never shopping her again, not to mention their droopy cupcakes. I do have to say that their meat room is fantastic though. I have gone into Shaw's multiply times shop for grocerires and cash my small (less than $50) paycheck. Each time I was turned away stating Customer Service is not open due to limited staff. When I have asked - when will they open customer service they state "We have no idea. How is this possible???? The store was not busy. I have even tried calling before going to the store. Due to Covid19 why would you want to turn someone away who is needing assistance. VERY DISAPPOINTED Shaw's. Your attitude and professionalism is HORRIBLE!!!! read more

I Have visited shaws on 3 ooccasions and they have all been bad experiences. What an abysmal shopping experience. Customer service is awful. The help is slow and unresponsive. The meat department sucks. Good cuts are scarce. Meager selection and in my opinion poor quality. Tonight was my last visit. NY strip steaks were tiny and fat ladened. Very small selection and all poor quality. The Deli is lousy. The Deli kid is debating a woman customer as to what Turkey she ordered. Instead of giving her what she requested he is debating her. I then ask for Greek Pasta salad, he looks confused and says ""I don't see any" So being late and desperate, I take my crap piece of steak and bag of salad and leave. The Braintree Shaws is one of the cleanest grocery stores we have been to. The produce is very fresh! In fact if you happen to visit on a Friday night you may have the luck of meeting one of their best managers in produce. We love to shop here especially because it is always so organized. They always have what we need and rarely move things around. We are creatures of habit so it is nice to know that we have a great local grocery store that we can get in, get what we need, and be on our way. One other thing to mention is that we are about a mile from the Randolph Shaws and prefer driving the extra time to enjoy the comfort and cleanliness of the Shaws at Braintree. Luckily it is conviently close to the Braintree T-station so that we are able to do our weekly grocery visits on our way home. : ) read more

Shaw's is a good sized supermarket. Definitely one stop shopping. The staff are helpful if you have a question, but it's a pretty straightforward layout, so that hardly ever happens. The deli sells meat ends and cheese ends at a discount, and the butchers department puts out neckbones and other meat-related odds and ends that other grocery stores in the area just throw away. The price and variety is much better than Stop and Shop. However, there are certain things that are definitely overpriced. I recommend getting your produce at Kam Man in Quincy instead. The meat sales are frequent and the prices can get really low. read more

I needed to buy some hot food for the Patriot's game feeding a bunch of hungry guys on a last minute get together in my man cave. I thought why not buy 6 or 7 hot rotisserie chickens for hot sandwiches. Easy peasy... Close to home ? I should have taken the extra time to travel elsewhere. Brought the hot chickens home and they were undercooked. Raw chicken meat - yuk.... Now what do 5 hungry guys who don't know how to cook do now ? Order out Chinese and Pizza..... I did self service check out. First the stupid machine won't recognize my insulated shopping bag. Second, it keeps trying to scan the bag of cherries. Why they make a barcode on the bottom of the cherry bag is beyond me since it goes by weight. Third when I tried checking out, it says attendant required. I waited 5 minutes, and nobody helped. I tried asking a cashier, but she said the attendant will be right with me. I finally made eye contact with the attendant, and was on her way to help me, when she decided to stop and help another cashier first. I was so PISSED I walked out. read more

i have left this store FIVE different times throughout the past year without fish because there was no one working at the fish counter! When there has been someone working there, they are not quick to assist and have blatantly ignored me for long periods of time. I have tried going at different times of day to see if I can get better service, but the service seems consistently poor. As recently as last week, two of us customers who were both waiting five minutes for service walked away without our fish. i walked out of the store and went right to Stop and Shop. read more
