Always a great experience. I got the peach cobbler ala mode . It was fantastic. Waitstaff was very friendly and welcoming and professional. I enjoy coming here although I don't live in the area it is with the drive .

Really lovely service and a fun array of flavors - I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I'm so glad I did. I got a couple of samples, including their yummy vanilla, but ultimately landed on their banana pudding ice cream. Glad the neighborhood has this cute spot.

I love this message next to the old school ice cream maker.

So happy when I visit! Good service every-time I visit. Food-I was disappointed they were out of peach cobbler the evening I went. So, I got the apple pie instead, I personally did not like the apple pie. Ambiance is always light/happy welcoming.

Saw a visit of a food blogger to the store, so I decided to visit myself. We were visiting family and after dinner we decided for some ice cream. I actually forgot about the pies, go figure. My wore remind me when we arrived. So we order the world famous peach cobbler with a scoop of the homemade vanilla ice cream. On the first scoop, literally it was a heavenly experience. My palate was on overload, the vanilla tasted unlike anything i wver tasted before, this ice cream was made by a grandma somewhere in the back of the store. You can taste the vanilla beans, sugar and all the labor of love tbat went into making it. The peach cobbler was just warm, enough that it wont totally melt the ice cream. Too bad i live in NYC, otherwise i be here eating this peach cobbler every week. Truly a unique experience in which the quality of ingredients is key, to ensure the consistency of the product at every level. The staff was nice to provide us with samples sonce we had no idea as to what to pick. Awesome job to them! Never sacrifice the quality of you product because your ice cream and pies are amazing!

Really enjoyed the ice cream; you could tell it's homemade because of how melty it was. I had the pistachio and the bourbon butter pecan. Both were really good and the waffle cone was also great. Most of all the employees were so friendly - we were there on Saturday, 7/13, 7pm ish. I would definitely recommend this cute ice cream shop. The decor and the space was nice as well if you want to eat inside.

Some of the BEST ICE CREAM in Chicago! My favorite flavors are; bourbon butter pecan, strawberry and vanilla bean. You can feel the creamy texture and homemade flavor. Their red velvet cake was very tasty.

    I absolutely love this spot...

First, I want to celebrate the fact that this is a black-owned small business, making its own ice cream! That is commendable! Unfortunately, the customer experience and the quality of the product just didn't quite hit the mark for me. The establishment itself is very well kept and clean. But when I got into line, I found myself looking around for a menu. There were big TV screens on the wall, but they only displayed a few flavors. There were clearly many different flavors of ice cream in the cabinet, but the flavors were not labeled on the glass or anything. It took a lot of head scratching until we finally got to the front of the line and learned that the menu was on a little placard that had a link you were supposed to scan. This leaves you with little time to make a decision, with a long line forming behind you. In the end, I picked the strawberry Oreo ice cream and my partner got the bourbon butter pecan. The texture of the ice cream was a bit icy--not a ton of cream in the ice cream, seems more milk-based. The flavors were also off for me--the strawberry flavor tasted artificial, the bourbon butter pecan was slightly better but it was also pretty average for me. Maybe I didn't pick the right flavors. And I did enjoy visiting a part of the city that I normally don't get to see. But I would recommend improving the menu visibility for a less confusing customer experience.

And so it was that we found ourselves inside this location of Ghirardelli during our Chicago trip. I wound up ordering what I always order, the World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae ("Vanilla ice cream and handmade hot fudge topped with whipped cream, diced almonds, a cherry, and a Milk Chocolate Caramel Square"). It was ready within minutes and of course it's terrific. All the components work so well together, and that hot fudge sauce remains one of my favorite things ever. (Do I wish they had included more of it? Yes, absolutely.) Don't ever change, Ghirardelli. You're great. (And please come to Canada some day!)

And we certainly are glad we did...it was delicious!! While Ghirardelli Chocolate was founded in San Francisco in 1852, Chicago is fortunate to have a vibrant and welcoming shop where any visitors can indulge in the ultimate chocolate experience whether purchasing chocolate gifts or placing an order at their made in-house restaurant upstairs. They make decadent hot fudge sundaes with handmade hot fudge made fresh daily from Ghirardelli Chocolate along with a sample signature chocolate square. This particular store is open on Monday through Thursday from 11 AM to 9 PM, Friday from 11 AM to 10 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 9 PM. I jumped at ordering a Classic Hot Cocoa, which offers a luxuriously deep chocolate flavor that comes through their beverage while topped with whipped cream and dusted with cocoa powder. It was served with a milk chocolate caramel Ghirardelli square. They also served shakes, coffee drinks, and more along with their huge chocolate Pick & Mix selection (where you choose your own flavors), chocolate gifts, chocolate bars, and chocolate gift bags. Go to their website (https://www.ghirardelli.com) and sign up for their e-mail newsletter to receive 15% off an order while also receiving e-mails with special offers. Another deal is that you can get free standard shipping on orders of $75 or more. I'm already dreaming of my next Ghirardelli made in-house beverage and chocolate square. Yum!!!

It's pretty small inside, there are only a few tables. A server comes to your table to place your order, which I feel like never happens at ice cream shops anymore! The menu is huge! We'd already spent most of the day eating, so we decided to share the Atomic Fudge Sundae. It's a fairly enormous concoction. I found it interesting that the hot fudge was served on the side, but it's actually pretty smart because you get control how much (or how little) sauce you get. The ice cream is the highlight. It's creamy and rich, and it's got a really nice flavor, too. The hot fudge was less impressive, but that might be because I had already eaten a Ghirardelli sundae earlier in the day and their hot fudge just can't be beat. The service was super friendly and the atmosphere was kitschy and fun. It's a cool place.
