    Cookie

This is an incredible place. I love everything about them, the cookie is phenomenal. But the mission, history and love for the community that oozes out of here (like the chocolate out of the cookie) is palpable and respectable. I love when a place can truly be a reflection of the community around and this feels like home. The service was so friendly, and upbeat exactly what I needed and I sat on the cute outdoor patio to have my mindfulness moment. Love this place.

Hubby and I had lunch around the corner and came across this delightful bakery so we had to stop and get dessert! It's tucked in a nice corner but we enjoyed the warm welcome! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's nice, light and airy inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great seats and I'm sure outside in the summer weather you can sit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had a cookie and a brownie and we both got coffee as well. It was delicious! They brought out a caramel cake and it looked amazing! We got a slice to go and it was delicious!

Great experience, I was greeted as soon as I arrived and the gentleman went over the available options with me. Everything looked good but I decided on the red velvet brownie. This brownie was delicious and very flavorful. Overall great experience, I can't wait to go back!

This is my second time in here. I've been here before for the brownies and it was soo good. I thought I'd try them again since the good smells were calling my name. Today I came here during the afternoon for cookies and stumbled upon the most delightful cookie with everything amazing in it called "the bearded lady". It did not disappoint. I wanted to save half of the cookie for later, but sadly it did not make it home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the decor, the staff is friendly and they have other cool merch to purchase.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also, a rewards program to ensure I'll be back.

A beautiful, black owned bakery in Harper Court (Hyde Park). The owner, Q, was so welcoming and friendly. I stopped in to sit and read and ended up getting the Hibiscus and honey tea and the Blueberry lemon loaf (the Tam Loaf). There was a black owned business pop-up, who had a beautiful display. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music was vibrant, the place, very clean and aesthetically pleasing, and even the bathroom was clean and carefully thought out with complimentary items for women and resources for anyone who needed it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What I love about black owned businesses is that extra little care they put into it. I'll definitely be back, and you should go, to. They are even open late on Friday and Saturday!

Came here after having lunch at nearby Bob's Pizza. They were low on cupcakes and only had 1 so I grabbed it for my husband. I also selected a cookie which was filled with chocolate and walnuts. Yum. My friend got the brownie and it was moist and delicious. The next day I had my cookie with a cup of coffee and it was very soft and delicious. I could taste the butter but in a good way. Prices here were reasonable. My husband enjoyed his chocolate cupcake but didn't think it was anything too special. They had a loaf bread that looked tasty. I would come back to this bakery if in the area. The coffee was priced reasonable and [[HIGHLIGHT]]plenty of places to sit while eating your item.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Try this black owned bakery, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Well I visited the struggle beard bakery and it was super Interesting. This day was his 2yr anniversary and which it was supposed to be $2 cupcakes it started at 2pm and was sold out by 2:30pm. So I had to settle for the Dr Tam loaf which is dedicated to a woman who lived black excellence which is super dope. The service was pretty good and it was a very festive environment. I tasted the cake and it ok. I much rather have had a cupcake but the only other flavor was pineapple coconut. But check it out and form your own opinion

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is soooooo adorable and personal![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the most decadent blueberry muffin! The coffee was great. I enjoyed the barista, she was vibrant and a whole vibe! I didn't try the cookies but they're calling me for a next visit. They look sooooo good.

Everything is always right here. The food, the service, the food, the people and THE FOOD. We love the cookies, for sure, but the muffins are great too!!

My first time visiting and I ended up getting a brownie that I enjoyed later and my first bite made me go back the next day to get another one.

Wanted something tasty for dessert and came upon this place from IG…read more I ordered the cream soufflé and the matcha float. Both came out in pretty quick time even though it was a busy Saturday evening. Loved the cream soufflé! It was something different that I wanted to try and it wasn't too sweet which was amazing. The soufflé was so fluffy and hot and fresh. The cream inside was sooo good! Everything was well balanced together and the float was also great. Only downside is that it's a really small place. So inside felt very cramped and crowded.

We ended up getting the Matcha smoothie with red beans on the bottom, as well as a matcha float with Ube soft serve. My friend got the Matcha smoothie and said the Matcha was a tad bitter, but also a little too much he said that the Matcha and the ice wasn't really well mixed. Therefore it tasted a bit icy, but he agrees the overall flavor was all right, but he probably wouldn't get that if we came back. On the other hand, my Ube and Matcha float was absolutely delicious. I knew I wanted the Ube soft serve over the Matcha soft serve because I'm very picky with my Matcha, but I also didn't want to get Matcha tea as well as the Matcha soft serve as I figured that would be a little bit too much. I would literally come back just for the Uber officer, it was perfectly sweet, but not overly sweet and the texture was extremely creamy and soft, perfect for a hot day. I'll definitely be coming back just to get that and I also appreciate the server, giving us her favorite combinations and suggestions. It was extremely crowded by the time we left the place literally opened at 11:30, so you know the restaurant has a good reputation already in the community! We will definitely come back!

I wish I was able to travel with one of their cheesecakes but they require refrigeration. Anyhow the cheesecake itself was delicious super light, fluffy, and honestly felt like biting into a cloud. I had the salted egg but they had several flavor options that I would've loved to try if slices were available. The texture is what really stands out, and the flavor was unique and interesting in a good way. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it taste like, but it was sweet, but not too sweet They only sale but I consider a personal size but it's definitely enough to share with two people, maybe even three depending on how much of a sweet tooth you have. My only downside like others is the price. Paying around $19-$20 for a small cheesecake felt a bit steep, especially since they don't offer slices. I really wish they had smaller portions available so you could try different flavors without committing to a full cake prize. They package it very well and they also serve you a cute little fork set and a knife for cutting which I think is contributes to the price. The shop itself is very cute with chic décor and a lot of Asian-inspired artwork, which adds to the overall vibe. Customer service was friendly. When I visit Chicago again I'd definitely go back the texture and taste alone make it worth it but I do hope they consider offering smaller portions in the future.

One thing I personally did not like was that they require customers to pay first before the food comes out. For a sit-down restaurant, I prefer to eat first and pay after, especially when service is expected. The service was not very proactive during our visit. The food was okay, but nothing really stood out to me. For the price, I felt it was a little pricey compared to Taipei Cafe, and the overall experience did not feel worth it. Overall, the food was just alright, the service could be improved, and the pay-first system was not something I liked. I don't think I would come back.

The taiwanese style popcorn chicken and pork cutlet were super juicy and tender with nicely crisp breading. Finally, the broth of the Sichuan noodles was packing with flavor: sweet, tangy, spicy, umami - truly hit all the spots without being too numbing to your mouth, if thats one of your concerns Would definitely return to try the other menu items, especially their hot sizzling plates and their dessert/drink offerings
