I have been to the Syrian Kitchen before and really enjoyed it. This time, not as much. We waited for 10 minutes to have someone take our drink order. They took our food order at the same time, and when our food came 30 minutes later they brought our drinks too. I got up to ask for our drinks and it just so happened that our food was coming out. We we pretty much ignored during our entire experience. The food was good. My son ordered the Syrian plate, which had three kabobs, rice and pita. The kabobs were not very big. He filled up on rice, but that was not what he was really wanting. I had the gyro plate with salad. It was good and the portion was enough for me and I shared the rest with my hungry 16 year old. We bought some baklava for the road. It was pretty sweet and the portion was underwhelming for $4/piece. The restaurant is comfortable, nothing fancy. It's worth a try, I would stick to the sandwich menu for the best value and don't hold your breath for service. The stars for this review are for lack of service and value. Chicken was dry and flavorless for both me and my friend. She has memories of the place being better. Must be under new mgmt.

Came in on a Friday night with some friends and overall, was generally disappointed. Parking was easy enough right outside and it wasn't very busy. We'd soon find out why. Front door had a "under new ownership" sign, which may not have been a good sign. It took quite a while to get the wait staff to come get our drink and apps ordered. Then it took quite a while to actually get said drinks and even longer to get apps. Then they took quite a while to get our main dish food orders...and they were out of chicken? Ended up going lamb and it was just okay. Dessert was $4 for a single small piece of baklava. Overall it just wasn't a great experience outside of being there with friends. 1.5 stars for the service, 2 stars for price, and maybe 2 stars for the food. Would generally not recommend. read more

The falafel overall was pretty good. Maybe slightly on the dry side. Decent flavor. The baba ghanoush however, was not very good. Too much lemon. It was purée down to a baby food consistency. Needs to have some chunkiness to it. Needs more eggplant a little more garlic And salt. read more

I got the beef shcwarma which was my first choice and one of her recommendations. Talk about big portions of food. You have a choice for salad or rice. We were a party of five, we were seated quickly. Our server was very kind, a little slow in a moderately busy environment. The food was OK. All the proteins were very dry. The protein's did have a very nice cinnamon and cardamom seasoning. The mint tea was fantastic. The Turkish coffee was OK. Hummus was great. I've been recommended this place for a while now and finally tonight my partner and I decided to stop in. The staff was friendly and the tables were clean. The business was easily spotted from business loop and had lots of parking. We ordered the beef shawarma sandwich (side of rice), the falafel sandwich (side of rice), stuffed cheese pie, the pistachio baklava and the walnut baklava. The food was DELICIOUS! Man the reviews were so good online. Ordered a kabob combo. Garlic dip and zatter pie. Wait was horrendous for it only being 1/3 full. Think only one gentleman was working the front of house. People were letting their kids run around screaming up and down the rows of tables. Sorry....correct your children's behavior. The adults literally sat at the table staring at each other silent as the kids, probably 4-6 ran around like tyrants. Annoying. Food came out. Meh. Just meh. Food and service were both excellent. The falafels were crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. Out of this world! My husband got the beef kabob sandwich with fries (insane amount of fries). The meat was seasoned well and was super tasty. I got the beef schwarma sandwich and fries. My sandwich was huge and chuck full of meat. While it was tasty, I preferred the beef kabob over it. We also ordered a side of humus. Best humus we've had in a very long time. Go eat here!! With ordering, your order will be correct, the problem was there wasn't any labels or many napkins. Also there's no lamb & beef shawarma combination. Love this place. Best baba ghanoush I have ever had. The tabbouleh salad is wonderful. Tends more to kabobs and shawarmas, all very good. I would love to see more variety for entrees, like mahshi or other Syrian dishes. We have had dinner from here five times and never disappointed. Location is not the best, but safe. Idk if I came on a bad day but I didn't like my food and I had to make myself eat it it was very under seasoned the portion size was very small for a to go order. I'm from the city when u order this it's in a larger container I wouldn't recommend eatting here if you want authentic Mediterranean food this is not it. read more

Excellent little place right off the highway. We stopped for lunch on a road trip, and found excellent, fresh food at fast food prices. Service was fast and our server was sweet and friendly, which was nice for a sit-down place. Several got the lamb shish and that looked like the best of the sandwiches we ordered, although everything was well flavored. Pita was fresh, hummus was delish, as was the tahini sauce for the sandwiches. We also tried the Turkish coffee and cashew fingers for dessert. Everything was great, just wish it was closer to home! Authentic Syrian food. You may not like it if you are used to the americanized mediterranean food served at other local restaurants. The bread is made fresh in-house and served warm. It doesn't look like grocery store pita. You shouldn't expect it to. The kibbeh is made with skill and has more meat than many and the falafel is excellent. You'll find real fattoush and a nice selection of sweets. The taratour and toum sauces are good and they have a nostalgic selection of softdrinks and pickles (kabees). The shawarma is seasoned properly and the hummus, foul, and baba ghanouj are as they should be. It is so great to hear Arabic pop music playing while dining in.
