I believe this is the only fully vegan "restaurant" in Columbia. My daughter lives here so when I come to visit we often end up here. It is a grab and go place now but they have some hot soups and smoothies you can get made fresh. There are lots of delicious options in the freezers. Last night I chose a chicken broccoli Alfredo. It was really tasty. My other daughter who isn't vegan likes this place so that speaks volumes for how good the food is. The prices are a tad high but reflect current economy. Got some vegan ice cream to go too. Soy delicious in the freezer. Parking can be tricky but we easily found parking on a side street on a Saturday afternoon in April. Cute small restaurant with lot of personality. Customer ordered at the cashier, they'll bring food to the table, utensils/take-out boxes are self-serve and you'll clean up the table by bringing plates/cups to the back of restaurant. We ordered a few items Thai sweet potato soup (as it sound, similar to butternut squash soup but with yam), Buddha bowl (a lot of ingredients including tofu and brown rice with a really good beige sauce), tofu tacos (ok, a bit bland and could use a bit more flavor), rancheros wrap (ok, like a breakfast burrito). The highlight among these dishes was probably their Buddha bowl, most unique and great mix of ingredients. Overall, good vegetarian dishes for an American restaurant but a bit bland on flavors imo and on the pricey side for portion received. I also appreciate their use of real ingredients in food and environmental friendly restaurant.

The juice is soooo good, even when the juicer breaks! The people working were so kind and helpful. I am from out of town and went in on a whim. I had no idea what I wanted, but the lady pointed out favorites from both their juice and smoothie menu. A few minutes after ordering, one of the ladies working came up and informed me that the juicer had broken mid-juice. She told me she could either add coconut water to fill the cup to the top (it was almost all made, more than half the cup was already full) or she could refund me. I opted for the coconut water and thank goodness I did, because the juice is delicious! I got the purple rain and would highly recommend trying it if you ever stop in! The space inside is also super cute with a ton of eco-friendly products and cute locally made items!

We discovered Main Squeeze when a family member was graduating from MU High School in 2012. We were looking for a healthy place to have their graduation lunch, and Main Squeeze fit the bill. I called a few days ahead, and the staff saved a table for our party of twelve. We appreciated that since the space is relatively small. We knew we made the right choice when the skeptical carnivores in our group enjoyed their meals. Since 2012, we've always made a point to stop at Main Squeeze whenever we go through Columbia. We love the fresh juices (ring of fire, the cure), bowls (pro, gruel), and tasty desserts. Since it's about 1000 miles away, we only are able to get there about once per year. If you live in Columbia, check it out!

Main squeeze will always have a special place in my heart. They have the best vegan options in Columbia, although all my non vegan friends are big fans too. This is a wrap that they don't have anymore, but some of my favorites they do still have are their blueberry pie bars, buddha bowl (sesame ginger dressing is to die for), and the krunchwrap. You can't go wrong with anything you get here, I haven't been disappointed yet.

Gotta love some good vegetarian cooking. I had the mac and cheese and it was great. I love anything that tastes just as good as the real thing but is better for you!! I would recommend this place to those in COMO, but know that it's going to be a little pricier. Save them animals!!

On my way back to STL from KC, I was passing through Columbia, MO and needed a quick healthy fix. This restaurant was aesthetically pleasing and the cashier was so kind and friendly! My food was absolutely delicious and I drank every once of my fresh made juice. I wish it was closer so I could return weekly! They also have frozen prepared meals and other dry shelf items you can purchase. Next time I pass through, I will definitely be stopping back in!

9th Street Veg Sandwich - good flavor but I wasn't full after eating it

tl;dr: fresh, healthy, made-to-order vegetarian (and vegan) noms! A bit on the pricier end. Can get busy during lunch hour so be prepared to wait but it's worth it. ------------- I came in around 1pm on a Monday and this place was packed but the crowd slowed down around 1:30pm. The long line gave me just enough time to read the menu which can be a bit awkward to see.. It's printed on the wall right next to the line. There are tons of options to choose from: all-day breakfast, soup, salad, sandwich, wrap, bowl, smoothies and even vegan mac & cheese! All vegan items are marked in red listed first in each of the menu categories. Overwhelmed by the choices, I ended up picking the 9th Street Veg sandwich which has hummus, avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion, sprouts, cucumber, almond cheeze on wheat bread. It took awhile to get the food (15mins?) but the flavor of the sandwich was excellent. For a $10 sandwich, I did get hungry again 2 hours afterward... If you are getting an item without a substantial protein or carb option, maybe consider getting something extra on the side. Treat yo' self, amirite? :)

Main Squeeze is my main squeeze. I wish I lived in Columbia so I could eat here everyday. So jealous of everyone at Mizzou. This is exactly my kind of vegetarian/vegan restaurant, with both healthy and indulgent options - plus vegan desserts! To my pleasant surprise, the Buddha Bowl lived up to the hype. The sesame ginger sauce on it is spectacular. I also love the selection of condiments at the front (nutritional yeast, liquid aminos, hot sauces, etc.) to spice things up even more. They have a sign on the window saying they welcome people of all races, religions, etc., which is a lovely gesture in today's sociopolitical climate.

While visiting the city of Columbia, MO I decided to try a vegan restaurant for lunch. Right when I walked in I had to stop, turn to the left, and read their oversized chalkboard menus on the wall. It's somewhat awkward due to the fact that there isn't much space between the wall and some of the outer dining tables. Also, each board is dedicated to a specific group of menu items which causes me to walk up and down the wall, scanning the boards up and down as I make a decision on what to order while weaving through and around other customers looking at the wall menu's. They should have handheld menus available as an alternative for ordering, which can eliminate one having an awkward experience prior to placing their order. Now onto the food.......I ordered the Notorious B.L.T and the The Cure as my juice beverage. Both items were good but missed the mark on flavor. The juice was a little warmer than room temperature and I could only taste 2 out of the 4 juice ingredients. I could not taste the ginger or lemon at all. Their sandwich simply lacked an extra layer of seasoning, the guacamole and tempeh bacon were prepared well but truly lacked flavor. I would definitely visit this restaurant again but I would probably try different menu items.

I had a great lunch at Main Squeeze. That day I had the special, I can't remember the name but it was delicious! The dish had black beans, sweet potatoes, asparagus, guacamole and perfectly cooked quinoa! It was topped with their homemade enchilada sauce (I was bummed when I found out it was made with canola oil). The staff was helpful and informative. Parking can be a little tricky at times. After finding out there was no canola oil in the enchilada sauce, I updated my review to 5 stars.

Love this place from the colorful, quirky decor to the flavorful inventive dishes. The taco meat on the taco salad is crumbled nuts, I think? And take the sauce so well. The Krunchwrap with the Chipotle sauce is excellent. And love the Zombie Smoothie for a shot of fruit!

We got to this place and there was no food menu up. They just have fresh juices. Disappointed that they haven't updated yelp.
