I recently purchased a Bronco Outer Banks from Car Source Auto this past Saturday. Overall, the…read moreexperience was mixed. My salesman, Hunter, was not overly pushy, which I appreciated. All of the staff I interacted with were polite and professional, and that made the process more comfortable. However, I do have several complaints. Before driving all the way from Virginia to Ohio, we agreed on an out-the-door price of $35,000. When I arrived, I was told the price had been increased by $500, and there was very little willingness to negotiate after the fact. That was frustrating, especially after making such a long trip based on a prior agreement. The vehicle itself was also disappointing at delivery. The Bronco was very dirty, had only about 10% oil life remaining, and was given to me with almost no gas in the tank. It also needs the window wipers replaced. When I brought this up, Hunter said he would provide a gas card, but I was only given $12, even though it takes roughly $60 to fill the tank. The listing said it had 55,000 thousand miles but when I arrived it has 57,500 thousand. While I'm happy with the Bronco itself and the staff was friendly, the pricing change, lack of vehicle prep, and minimal effort to make things right took away from what should have been an exciting purchase experience.

"Was told the oil was changed and had new tires." BIG LIE!!! When reviewing paperwork only ONE tire had been replace. Bought as is because it seemed by the appearance of the vehicle it was a solid buy. One month later it died on the side of the road. Needs a total engine and transmission. Has was in the oil pan too. They knew this car was bad, but sold it to us anyway. Talked to Bob(the owner" and he said he will contact the service manager and get back to us. NEVER DID! This is on us too because we bought it as is. RED FLAG! I was naive! But please do your due diligence when purchasing, actually, just go somewhere else. They lie and smile to your face! I will be contacting the FCC and Attorney General's Offices to report. If you have had similar issues with this company, I suggest you do the same. He assured me that it would be about an hour to an hour and 1/2 total. Although the rep was very helpful and professional, that was the only good part of this appt. After an hour and 20 mins I walked outside the to see that my truck was still in the parking lot and hadn't moved from where they initially staged it. I explained again that I had to be somewhere and couldn't wait at that point. I had to take time from running a business just to waste over 2 1/2 hours to not accomplish anything. I did purchase from them, it's still a fairly new vehicle. I did get a half-hearted apology from the "manager" but my concerns were not addressed any further than that. I also got the follow up call about my experience. When I explained what happened and that I wouldn't likely give them any more business, the rep on the phone said "ok...we will put you in our system as moved out of the area" (maybe not exact words, but pretty accurate). I told her that would be a lie because it wasn't why I wasn't coming back. She didn't address it any further and ended the call. Just an unacceptable way to do business. For the record the buying experience was overall good, but this situation has lost my future business.

I like subcompact cars, and this category is basically phasing out across the US; almost every subcompact model was discontinued between 2018-2020. I liked my 2012 hatchback Nissan, but, surprise!, that one's been discontinued, too. After several test drives of different makes/models, I decided to take a look at Nissan's sedan Versa. I came across a 2021 via the internet at Ricart. I called and talked with Leesa, told her what time I'd be in to dealership the next day. I basically know what I want in a car, and this model checked all the boxes: Must have cruise control; bluetooth connectivity; good air flow; and smooth down/up shifting gears in an automatic. I was very happy to see the car ready and waiting when I arrived as planned. Leesa was young and a good personality to work with. She didn't care where I drove on the test drive (which is a huuuugh plus in my book), so I was able to drive the streets and get on the freeway to test the cruise control. I decided this was the one, and that was that. She didn't try and sell me anything else, just shook my hand said congrats, let me get my manager, and smooth sailing. I will admit I've NEVER been a Ricart fan - I think it stems back to the annoying guitar "We're dealin!" Commercials from the dad, so it is what it is. I was really happy that everyone I dealt with, from the warranty man, to the cashier gal, had great attitudes and caught onto my sarcasm right away and punned back. Overall, my dealings with Ricart were hassle free. I've already taken advantage of my lifetime car washes perk. When we brought it back on 1/20, we were told the necessary repairs would be covered. Over the next 2.5 months, we followed up weekly and were repeatedly told the issue was being handled. When we were finally scheduled for service, only the repairs we paid for were completed. The items they previously agreed to cover were not addressed, and we were later told they would not be covered at all. Additionally, we were informed multiple times that notes were being added to our file and that someone would follow up, but there is no record of these communications. This experience has been frustrating and disappointing due to the lack of transparency, communication, and accountability.

I made a morning appointment for shocks and a recall which should have taken a couple hour. I get there on time and the guy tells me it's going to be 3.5-4 hour. Seriously, this is why I made an appointment. I say okay and go sit down. I sit there for 4 hours and then they come and tell me that they can't fix my car today. I asked why, she stated they have the parts but they are short staffed, WTH!! She said they have a courtesy car that I can use until my car is ready. Fine, I'm tired just give me the car and let me leave. They call the next day about 4:20p that my car is ready. I leave immediately to go get my car. I fill theirs with gas and take it back. I sign for my car that was both warranty repairs and leave. Then I drive home and receive a email for a $90 car rental invoice! They way the Parts department set up is very impersonal. Every time you have to have them look at a part or a quote, they have to go in the back to some secret room. and you have to ring a bell to talk to anyone. Also the parts department is located somewhere in a different building than the service department, this is a break in continuity. With all that said, they do offer better pricing than Columbus North Mitsubushi, and free Cookies

So i set one. We decided to come over and see if she had accidentally tripped the immobilizer. The appointment lady told me they were open until 6. When we got here, they told her that they had lost her key fob. They also told her that they closed at 2 and that "they shouldn't have told you six". Then, I went in and tried to talk to a guy named Rick. Rick was appallingly rude. He was an old guy with a face wrinkled up like a raisin, and a personality even uglier. I told him that my friend is homeless. I told him that we just drove from Utica, and that I have stage for cancer. He had ZERO compassion. I tried to explain to him what we wanted to do, and didn't have a nasty tone of voice or anything. He kept accusing me of "getting smart with him". Then my friend tried to explain and he accused her of getting smart. This is when I got mad. I told Rick he shouldn't work with people. He told me neither should I. I said I was a teacher and he said, "I wouldn't want to be one of your students!" At this point I told him to F off, and he threatened to call the police. They then told my friend that they wouldn't want to give her the key fob because all of a sudden they found paperwork that said she owed them money, even though they had done NOTHING TO HER CAR. We will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, and maybe an attorney.

I have to post about our car buying experience at Buckeye Motor Sales. We were in a really bad…read moresituation and had just been hit by an 18 wheeler -- our almost paid off car totaled in a matter of a few days. I looked on Car Gurus and found a car that really impressed me and I inquired. The next day I called and talked to Steve and was immediately struck by how in depth he was about the car. He listened to my situation and let me tell him what we needed. We discussed the car and had several conversations that day and it was no time at all and we were approved by various lenders and we were arranging to drive to Delaware to finalize the purchase. Unfortunately I became really sick and couldn't make the trip for a few days and Steve was more concerned about my health than the sale. Which is not surprising since he is not a typical salesman. We came today, finalized the deal, signed, sealed, and after a few hours home with our new 2014 Chevy Cruze and it is JUST what we were looking for. 100,000 miles less than our totaled car, great payment and 1st payment not due for a month. Beautiful car, clean, great gas mileage, and so happy to say this Made in America and Made in Ohio car is Ours. Thank you Steve -- you have been a wonderful help to us. Thank you Sharon for your help and providing us excellent service. You are a great team and we highly recommend Buckeye Motor Sales and Steve and Sharon to anyone needing a new ride.
