One side of his backside is noticeably longer than the other. Worst of all - there are patches on his back where the groomer got too aggressive with the trimmer (you can see his skin). It's so bad and looks like a 6 year old was playing with a trimmer. I notified the business but they never responded. If you want a consistent, decent looking groom for your dog, you might want to look elsewhere.

I called over to the salon and they were flexible with me to get a time and date that worked best for my schedule which made getting the appointment painless. Located easily off the 95, this salon has lots of front row parking, and is easy to see from the street. I was pleased to walk in and not smell pet urine or see dogs fighting to get out of their enclosures, which made me feel good with leaving my dog in their hands. I was greeted and given a card to specify my dog's temperment, and my desired cut/style for his new 'do. I had never seen a more detailed customer card, and thought this was a great addition to their customer profiles. The salon stay was a little longer than I'm used to, I dropped him off at 10 and he wasn't ready until 2:30, but when I picked him up he was happy, springy, and perfectly groomed. Prices were reasonable, he is a miniature with thick fur and his cut was $45, which included a very specific haircut, nails, bathing, and ears done. If I was staying in the area, I would absolutely be returning with my precious puppy to have our future grooming done here!

The algae eating fish known as the C down P...something, don't remember the name but there were quite a few of them. I wanted a larger one and the associate took the time to remove the items in the tank to make it easy for her to look around and try to net the larger one. They all were packed nicely and I acclimated then to my current tank and released them that night. Hopefully they will work to keep the algae from building up on my tank glass.

I know I should have stopped by before even making the first appointment. My decision to bring my dog here was solely based on appearances and reviews on Yelp. I figured " why not??" considering his last groomer, whom we loved, was at a Petsmart. The first time I brought my dog here, it was a slow day, but I should have remembered that. Albi did well, but I could tell he wasn't totally okay. I know (I knowwwwww) that a visit to the groomers will always be a bit shaky for any dog because of the over stimulation, but something felt off. So after I got my report on how he did (he pulls away when they tried to clip his nails), I went to pay for the services. They told me they couldn't do everything because they gave him trouble. I asked, "Did he bite?" and they told me, "Oh, no, of course not!" so of course I was thinking.... "So... what's the problem here?" My dog hates a lot of things and I still make him go through them, haha. (I am proud to say he now stands still when I need to soak his paw in epsom salt!). Anyways, I paid (full price for mediocre job), but brush it off, give them a hefty tip, make an appointment with the same groomer because my dog needs the bond (hey, he's a German Shepherd... he needs to trust people), and leave. Fast forward to second appointment, and they notify me that "Ohhh you wanted the same groomer... well, she won't be in until later, but it's nice to have variety sometimes". I went along with it because he needed the grooming so badly due to season changing. I picked him up, and the place was a mad house - Dogs are everywhere, all of them barking, some tiny thing wants to bark at my dog and really, my dog can only take so much. So I paid quickly, left with a half wet dog (I am told he doesn't like the blow dryer), and went to the vet to have him get some acupuncture so he can de-stress and not have diarrhea from the event. When we're at the vet, he's laying down and we realize... he's got patches of fur falling out, skin is bright red... my baby is having an allergic reaction to the shampoo they use!!!! (I realize this isn't totally their fault except even at Petsmart he didn't have this going on... PETSMART, people! What the hell are these people using???). So the vet gives me stuff, it quickly healed (it looks like burn marks now), but I immediately started interviewing and researching new groomers in the area. Now, I don't necessarily think Mystic Clippers is a poor place to take your dog. Some dogs can brush off situations like this, and aren't allergic to certain things. But here is why it didn't work for us - I expressed our desires for having the same people, so my dog can learn to trust this new place, and instead they miss out on our point. There are a million groomers there. Really. I could not recognize each person, and they come and go. Darla was the only person I could recognize and I'm pretty sure that's because she's the owner. The nails and blow dryer - I recently took him to another groomer who took the time to get to know Albi, and guess what? I watched from a window... he was a perfect gentleman. Really. And he barked when the blow dryer started but when he realized the groomer wasn't going to stop because of the barking, he shut up. I'm sure this is a great place for some dogs. But it wasn't for us, and I definitely want others to know why this is a big no-no, especially for those with special needs dogs (haha! awww).

Big hearts abound here. I've boarded with them a couple of times from a one-day stint to a couple of overnighters. Dogs went in health and happy and I got them back the same way. They socialized with other dogs and employees and were good and tired when I got them back so I know they got to run and play all day. Isn't that what it's all about anyway?

He does not go gang buster with tests either kind of a country Dr. Vet first. Do I agree with him all the time NO, and he respects your input too. They have a wide variety but their snails seemed to be intermingled in a few tanks with the different fish making it a little harder to pick. I also wanted a small fish that ate the algae on the sides of the tank but they didn't seem to have I needed. There were plenty of other variety of fish but I wasn't looking to add more fish to my tank.

She wasn't there when I picked him up and I said to the other girl, why is he still wet? She said bc he drooled on himself- what?! I've never heard of that and I've had him for 3 years. Enzo is looking like a mess- all different lengths on the paws, the face is completely ruined, and the body is SHAVED DOWN. Vinny on the other hand came out perfect and had a different groomer. I gave them the exact same instructions (but asked them to keep Vinny's Mohawk and she did). Then, I tried to buy a vest for Enzo. I asked the girl at the register- do you think it will fit my big guy being groomed ? She said yes but return it if not. Great. We tried it on him and it was way too big. I tried to return it and the guy at the register was completely useless. I asked him if he could see if there was a size L instead of XL and his answer was "you would see better than me you should go look". Thx, I did, I wanted you to look it up to see if there are any in the store. "Nah we don't do that". Ok cool, then return it. Him- stares blankly. Me- "are we all set?" Him- do you want to donate? Me "I already did I need to get my dogs out of here". Him: uhhhh.... I think it's all set. Dude. What. I'd give 5 stars to Vinny's groomer and negative stars for the rest of the experience. Really super disappointed.

If the doctor is available why charge extra for an appointment. I found a Vet much closer to home who was the most thorough and considerate Vet I have had in years. His pricing was also the lowest I have had in years. Everyone deserves to be paid for their skill set but not always at the expense of highest price!
