I came here last week as a walk-in on an impulse because I wanted to cheer myself up after the death of my grandfather. Perhaps other artists are lovely and take their time, but the guy who takes walk ins rushed my set and gave me the sloppiest French tip set I've ever received. He didn't give me time fully cure them so they started chipping two days later. I don't make a lot of money. I get my nails done once or twice a year. I don't have an extra $65 laying around to fix this. Take a gamble on this place if you want. Stick with an artist here who you trust, but don't fuckin let the dude who does walk-ins touch your nails. I still tipped the guy, but holy fuck. I'm broke, I'm mad, and I have shitty, disappointing nails.

What I enjoy the most is the atmosphere at the salon. The other stylists are always joking and laughing with one another, and they make you feel like part of the family, even if you are not sitting in their chair. It's a great place to get your beauty needs met while also getting in plenty of laughs and walking away feeling like a Queen! I used to drive to Fresno to get quality services, but no need now that Charmed Salon is in my home town! The pictures I've included are just a few of the services I've had with Emily.

UTIMATELY MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN…read more First the GOOD. She did a very nice cut and style every time. The shampoo smelled great and the place is clean. Prices are typical of most professionals. The BAD- Sometimes her color or haircut job turns out great or even better than expected, but it might not be what you actually asked for. She might try to say that it IS what you asked for or what you showed her. She might tell you that your hair can't get the color or style you asked for but only after she already did something else without discussing it. Lastly it might turn out worse than if you used a box of Loreal hair dye and did it yourself. Which is what a friend and I spent the evening doing to my hair after she ruined my previously beautifully balayaged hair. I originally just figured I had one bad appointment out of a few good ones and that she must of had an off day, so I gave her another chance a couple months later but I was very careful to talk about what I wanted and ask questions to be sure we were on the same page. I won't be going back and I wish I hadn't given her another shot! My guess is, I am not the only one who has had this experience! Please speak up if you have a bad experience or a good one. Madera is small and we should give our business to the professionals that appreciate it and do right by their customers. Her attitude about the whole ordeal when I tried to discuss it with her was like she didn't need my business so she didn't care how I felt about it!

They were wall to wall busy but still got me seated in a pedicure chair in under 10 minutes. Gel Pedicure was wonderful, quick, and affordable! There was a bit of a wait for the manicure... I didn't mind because they were so busy and the gal before me got the cutest intricate design so it extended the wait a bit. (Also, it was my fault for a last minute appointment!) As soon as it was my turn the manicurist who has been in the business for 10 years took great care of me! I love my manicure & he suggested the white polka dots! In total my visit was $91 with card & $20 for cash tip! (Basic gel pedicure & acrylic overlay fill) Next time I'll be sure to bring cash for payment as it's preferred but luckily they accommodated me! At small business I prefer to pay cash anyways! A new worker did my nails before and I was unhappy with the results. I continued coming back because I liked the salon and the other staff members. When I saw she had returned, I felt put on the spot and didn't want to be rude, so I allowed her to do my nails again. I honestly wish I had spoken up.Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. Four of my nails were crooked and had to be removed with liquid. Glue and polish were left all over my hands, and the final result was uneven, bumpy, and honestly looked nothing like what I expected. My nails looked bulky and poorly done. I did let one of the kind ladies (I believe her name was Kelly) know, and she offered to fix them the next day, which I appreciate. However, my time is valuable, and I have work the following day, so it's very difficult for me to come back and spend more time fixing something that should have been done correctly the first time. I was also charged the full price of $125 for my manicure and pedicure, including my daughter's pedicure. My daughter's service used gel, and I was charged extra for that as well. I truly loved coming here, bringing my daughter, and supporting this salon. I always tipped well because I appreciated the service. Sadly, after this experience, I no longer feel comfortable returning. I hope management provides more training because customers deserve quality work and to leave feeling happy with what they paid for.
