Mindfulness time for me every 2 weeks. Let's put it this way, i trust this family with my nail health/ care. Every time I visit the music sets a tone for relaxing or vibing that I need! It's never chaotic, loud, rushed like some salons and I love them for that. Call in the morning, set a time if you're a stickler for getting in, otherwise, don't always expect to be seen right away if you're walking in during peak hours. I'm honestly so grateful, that anyone I get, usually one of the brothers or their mom do such a wonderful job. I'm happy to recommend them. This place is horrible. I came in here for a deluxe pedicure top of the line $65 pedicure with French tip. After 5 minutes the older guy was rushing through every step I was immediately not happy. I admit I have not been to this nail salon in years and I used to be a faithful customer, well after my last visit I will never return. While I was able to get in within minutes without an appointment, the customer service lacked. Other than asking what I wanted and how much I had to pay I was not spoken to at all. Not sure who did my pedicure but she conversed with the other lady the whole time which I couldn't understand one word they were saying (no biggie, used to that) but when she wasn't talking to her she was stopping to get on her cell phone. I went this morning wanting to get my nails done. I walked in and the workers just stared at me and asked what I wanted. I responded I wanted a full set with gel. They looked at each other and were like we are booked for today and to come back tomorrow. WFT I felt judged and very uncomfortable. First of all, they just open. I decided to give this place a try today. It's very nice inside so it was off to a great start. After being seated at a table, the the lady got up and preceded to socialize with the other technicians, looking at each others phones and chatting as if there was no one was in their salon. This went on for about 10 minutes. Just waiting for them to be done talking and laughing. I took an early break from work to get my nails done. Having to wait because they are busy is understandable and out of their control. But waiting because three of them want to socialize while I sit there, that's unacceptable. RUDE & ROUGH AS HELL!! The older gentleman who did my pedicure was so rough and just threw my feet around, and if my toes were in his way, he would like slap them down. The tools were used aggressively and were painful. He was not careful or gentle at all. Nothing relaxing about this experience. It was super stressful. $40 for 30 mins of torture. Another man who was apparently napping in the back came out to take over the poor girl next to me. He was yelling at her because HE was confused about whether she wanted gel or polish. I tried this salon after being recommended to the former salon (Diva). I had some time so I came in for a gel manicure and pedicure. I had an appointment and still waited 30 minutes before anyone started on me. The younger, quieter gentleman was the person who did my nails. He was pretty unenthusiastic about his job, which I don't blame him for. Seemed to be a family business and he probably just fell into it. But he was lacking skills and techniques that seem standard. Unfortunately it was one of the worst manicures I've had in a long time. My nails were uneven, crooked, and after 2 days already chipped on most of the nails. He didn't seal the tips which is essential for stopping chipping. For an $80 bill (before tip), I was very disappointed in the longevity, or lack of. The salon itself was sort of dirty. They offer water bottles but they don't clear away previous ones, I had two used water bottles sitting at both of the stations I was at. I also noticed one of the mail techs grabbed a file that had just been used on me and took it to use one another customer without cleaning it. Also I didn't see a single license on display for any of the nails techs which was a bit suspect, not saying they aren't licensed but ive never been to a salon that didn't have them prominently displayed. Jay the nail tech is awesome and Jasmine his mother is excellent for pedicures. If it ain't Jasmine then I don't have my pedi's done. I have tried others but Jasmine always does the greatest job and leaves me on point. Overall it is a great place but I recommend Jasmine 100% pedi's and her son J for nails. The only thing that had always been a little nerve wrecking is when you ask a question and then the employees all begin to talk their language and uiu get stared at as if you said something un polite. I went to this salon for a pedicure while my husband had a meeting in Madera. The lady who gave me the pedicure was very nice. However, 5 hours later it still wasn't dry. Not realizing I had wet polish on my toes I laid across the bed and ruined the bedspread of our host. I called the salon requesting a refund and he refused. He offered that I could come back to the salon to have the pedicure redone, but he would not issue a refund. As customers that spend our hard earned money we expect to be given the best service possible, as this is what WE, THE CUSTOMER pays for. As a customer coming to have our nails done we would also expect to not have to worry about sanitation being one of OUR concerns. As a former customer of J&J Nails, I can say that I personally have got FUNGUS from this nail shop. Not only have I contracted FUNGUS but a friend that is also a former customer also contracted fungus and lost her nail. The nail technicians are very UNSANITARY as I have witnessed the mother and father passing used foot exfoliators used on one customer to another customer back to back. As a former customer I noticed over time my feet became very dry and britle, I assume from sharing exfoliators between customers. The OWNER Jay does not properly clean his nail bits as I have also witnessed him use unclean bits on a customer that goes in for acrylic sets. There is always nail dust everywhere. The father does do good pedicures when he is not rushing. Unfortunately he does like to dig into the side of the nail and pull out "ingrowns" which results in bleeding and from experience nail lifting. Very painful. Jade and his sister in law are LAZY. Most of the time you have to insist on what you want because if not they downplay what you do not like or what you want, this comes from a majority of the nail technicians including the ones that do pedicures often. They do this because they dont care, and are lazy. It is as if you THE PAYING CUSTOMER have to force them to do a decent job. The CUSTOMER SERVICE is shameful. They talk to the customers with no respect at all. The OWNER Jade, talks down on the customers all the time. Calls customers out of their name and says often the customer can go somewhere else and that he does not need them because they have plenty of other customers. The brother is also very unpleasant and has the same attitude towards customers. The owner and other employees forgets that without us the customer they would not have what they have nor would they have a nail shop. Not only all this but they also overcharge for simple manicures and pedicures, which include basic one color gel. When they are in a rush they do not bother properly massaging. read more

The last two times I came for a pedicure, I have left injured. The nail tech used the drill/sanding nail tool in between my toes and also cut too much off the sides and cuticle, causing me to bleed. Every time I cried out in pain, he would say, "Oh, it tickles!" The main thing that bothers me is how the owner talks about the clients so disrespectful. There were a few times people came in and asked about the wait, and after they left, he would make fun of them or get angry and talk bad about them. It seems like everyone there is pretty miserable, too. It is really too bad because this used to be the best place to get your nails/pedi done. I get my nails done with Daisy. She is an amazing artist she take her time to sculpt your nail perfect to its fitting. When it comes to art she takes her time to make sure it's perfect. Jasmine does amazing waxing. She leave my underarms super clean and they never Sting or hurt. Highly recommend both these gals and all the crew at J&J nails. read more

Rude people! Our nails looked good. Service was faster than expected. But the way the man spoke to my daughter, was incredibly rude. My daughter is 6 years old, this was a special treat for her. She was so excited to be there. Things went wrong when she got curious and asked me what language the workers were speaking. After that one man was rude to us. My daughter was in tears when we left. I think it offended him that she asked me in front of him about his language I had replied to her that she should ask him if she was curious but she was too shy to ask him directly which upset him and he basically scolded her for it. Good day. If I could give 0 stars I would. I took my elderly Mom to get a pedicure and manicure. The nail salon i normally take her to we learned today he no longer works there. That is a different story. But for this story allow me to proceed. First let me mention before he began working on her feet I informed him she has meat under her toe nails so please be careful. So as he proceeded I asked him a question about something I noticed under her big toe nail. Why did I ask that. He went ballistic and told me to go sit somewhere else. I told him I will not. I said to him why are you getting so upset because I asked a question. Then I noticed one of toe nails was bleeding. I ended up talking to another nail tech about the matters at hand. His excuse was the tech working on my Mother cannot multitask and that I should wait to ask questions after he is done???? I advised him that still is not an excuse for him to be so rude and disrespectful. They did address her bleeding toe and put some product on it to stop the bleeding. There is so much more to say about this ordeal but I will conclude here. Bottom line is if you go to this establishment do not make mention of any issues you may have, you might bleed and please do not ask any questions!!! And to top it off no one bothered to apologize for the techs behavior. Only excuses :( read more

First time here and he just did a rush job with no attention to detail at all. Went for a pedicure, the water was cold - I told the guy and he adjusted the temp but it was still cold. Before the water even finished filling he already took my foot out and started - so no time to soak. It was a quick scrub and slight calf massage (no massage on my feet???). After it was apparent that he did not plan to cut my nails I had to tell him to cut them - he barely cut them across top but never even checked the sides. Worst part was that immediately after he finished painting my nails he put my shoes on and rushed me out the door - I can't let my toe nails dry before leaving??? So of course the drive home messed up my pedicure. Just a waste of money. read more

There's no point in booking an appointment you'll still have to wait a long time. It's understandable to be 5-10 mins behind but 45 mins is ridiculous! The owner is super rude and has no customer service. To top things off he talks about the customers. He doesn't care about quality work only quantity. I've been going to Lamy for 15 years and sad because I will no longer be going back. I wish Amy was still the owner. When she was there it was a friendly environment, they greeted you by name when you walked in, they cared about their clients the shop isn't the same anymore. This was my 3rd time visiting this place, I get ingrown nails in my toes and I'm very aware of it. One of the guys there was amazed at how "bad" they were. He went in so deep that he made me bleed. Once he realized how big the ingrown was that he had just pulled out, he waived in the sky like he found gold, very embarrassing. A few days after the visit I noticed bleeding and at one point puss. I immediately reached to my Dr, once the Dr saw my toe she told me it looked like an infection and prescribed me antibiotics. It has now been 3 weeks and my toe hurts and looks even worse, some bruising and bleeding. I love pedicures and this is so damn frustrating. This guy is not a medical professional to do stuff like this. My job of line requires me to be on my feet all day, sometimes even 16 hours a day. This really pisses me off. I NEVER leave reviews EVER but this one I made time for. NEVER will I ever visit this establishment and I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT AN INFECTION. read more

came here for the first time about to weeks ago , they told me I had an ingrown toe nail , without asking they went ahead and removed it, I didn't think much of it I was like okay it looks good BUTTT a couple days ago I noticed the same toe nail they cut was getting very swollen, next day goes by and it's even worse I went to the doctors for a consultation and explained to them what had happened and I was told my toe was infected , never coming here again , i don't know if they didn't sanitize their tools right or the guy didn't cut my nail wrong but I am in a lot of pain rn with a swollen infected toe read more
