Perhaps other artists are lovely and take their time, but the guy who takes walk ins rushed my set and gave me the sloppiest French tip set I've ever received. He didn't give me time fully cure them so they started chipping two days later. I don't make a lot of money. I get my nails done once or twice a year. I don't have an extra $65 laying around to fix this. Take a gamble on this place if you want. Stick with an artist here who you trust, but don't fuckin let the dude who does walk-ins touch your nails. I still tipped the guy, but holy fuck. The other stylists are always joking and laughing with one another, and they make you feel like part of the family, even if you are not sitting in their chair. The BAD- Sometimes her color or haircut job turns out great or even better than expected, but it might not be what you actually asked for. She might tell you that your hair can't get the color or style you asked for but only after she already did something else without discussing it. Lastly it might turn out worse than if you used a box of Loreal hair dye and did it yourself. Which is what a friend and I spent the evening doing to my hair after she ruined my previously beautifully balayaged hair. I originally just figured I had one bad appointment out of a few good ones and that she must of had an off day, so I gave her another chance a couple months later but I was very careful to talk about what I wanted and ask questions to be sure we were on the same page. A new worker did my nails before and I was unhappy with the results. I continued coming back because I liked the salon and the other staff members. When I saw she had returned, I felt put on the spot and didn't want to be rude, so I allowed her to do my nails again. I honestly wish I had spoken up.Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. Four of my nails were crooked and had to be removed with liquid. Glue and polish were left all over my hands, and the final result was uneven, bumpy, and honestly looked nothing like what I expected. My nails looked bulky and poorly done. I did let one of the kind ladies (I believe her name was Kelly) know, and she offered to fix them the next day, which I appreciate. However, my time is valuable, and I have work the following day, so it's very difficult for me to come back and spend more time fixing something that should have been done correctly the first time. I was also charged the full price of $125 for my manicure and pedicure, including my daughter's pedicure. My daughter's service used gel, and I was charged extra for that as well. I truly loved coming here, bringing my daughter, and supporting this salon. I always tipped well because I appreciated the service. Sadly, after this experience, I no longer feel comfortable returning. As I placed my hands in the UV light my nails immediately burned, only then did the nail te g mention my nails were really thin. It would have been great to know prior to having the gel manicure so as to opt for a regular manicure. I've been getting my nails done for a decade in the Bay Area and have NEVER had something like this on my nails. They look horrific now and am mortified I may have gotten a fungus from here.
