We hired Sharon Stone Design to remodel our attic, stairs, and kitchen. Attic Conversion: The original space was an unfinished, uninsulated attic that was hot and unsafe. They converted it into an insulated, functional room that our children now use regularly as a playroom. Kitchen Remodel: They redesigned our 1980s-style kitchen, which had poor flow and layout constraints. The new design opened up the layout, incorporated a central island, and modernized the space. Throughout the project, Sharon showed strong attention to technical details, specifically taking the time to carefully review our appliance specifications to ensure precise installation and fit. Because the company utilizes their own in-house construction crew, project adjustments and issues were handled directly, efficiently, and with high-quality workmanship. read more

I chose to work with Sharon and Guy from Sharon Stone Design Build for my kitchen and bathroom remodel. As a busy homeowner, I was looking for someone who could truly help me with everything and make the process as stress-free as possible. As a homeowner who has been in the construction industry for many years, I know and have met many contractors, but Sharon and Guy are truly the best in every aspect. What also made a big difference is that they have their own in-house team no subcontractors and no outsourced designers -- which gave me a lot of confidence throughout the project. I had heard many good things about Sharon and Guy, and I chose them because they are reliable, responsive, and truly care about their clients. Even after the project was completed, I called them a few times with questions, and they helped me right away, which I really appreciate. I have only good things to say about this power couple and their team. I would highly recommend Sharon Stone Design Build to any homeowner looking for a reliable contractor in our area read more

Sharon and her team are top-quality. They helped us on a big commercial job, and we're super grateful they stepped in on short notice and delivered. We were moving out of a store at Valley Fair and couldn't find anyone with the proper COI coverage who could meet our timeline. Sharon's team came through, got us out on time, and ended up saving us from paying more and waiting on someone else. They are legit, and glad we got to contract them! Thank you again Guy, and Sharon. read more

I have so many good things to say don't know where to start! Sharon was incredible from day one . my house is far out on the top of the mountains and the service i got was as if I lived in downtown! she took several trips to take exact measurements, nothing in my kitchen is standard, exposed beams, very high ceilings , many windows in the backsplash area and her design was absolutely stunning, very high quality materials and finishes , she even selected the perfect doors and drawers handles , she understood me better then I understood my self ! So much patience and knowledge, i can feel her passion and years of experience in the trade . her crew came up and installed the kitchen in one day to perfection! I've been working on the construction of my house almost 4 years and she was by far the most professional, knowledgeable, supportive and kind contractor to help me achieve my dream kitchen ! this is probably my second or third yelp review I've ever wrote because she will be your best choice for a memorable experience and a kitchen that will be the an art piece in your home . read more

Guy Katz and team from Sharon Stone Design did a bunch of remodeling work at our new home recently. They replaced our hardwood floors, completely remodeled a bathroom & garage, added a window, converted water heater to tankless etc. They did a fabulous job, we could not be more happy with how everything turned out! Guy & Sharon both have an excellent eye for design and attention to detail, all their design recommendations turned out to be top notch and we've received several compliments for our new flooring, bathroom & garage interiors. Banking on Guy's wealth of experience helped us quickly make design decisions without being overwhelmed by too much choice. Guy is amazing to work with, he is super responsive and genuinely helpful. It was very reassuring to have him respond to texts / calls right away and come over every day or sometimes even multiple times a day to review the work and give directions. There were several instances of him going out of the way to help us out with things that were not in the scope of their remodeling work, e.g. cabinetry in the garage etc. Him and his team are extremely knowledgeable and professional and gave us stellar service throughout. Each and every crew member was pleasant, friendly and did top quality work! Sharon Stone Design truly cares about their work and about their clients. They provide top quality service at a reasonable price! We'd definitely be using them again for future work. read more

Wow, I don't even know where to begin. Our experience with Sharon Stone Design was just simply amazing. Our own design was kind of all over the place when we first visited, and before we even started talking about what services her and her company could provide, she first helped us simplify and make our kitchen design match the rest of our home's style. She even visited the company we were buying granite from to make sure the quality was good enough for her to work with. Told us where to go slab thickness, where to do mitered bull noses, the design direction was limitless. our peninsula island has a 1/2" reveal to give the countertop a floating appearance, and her stencil guys really went out of their way to make it perfect. All the cuts and install was also perfect. Sharon Stone Design was perfect! read more

After the storm last winter, we had to replace most of the fences around our property. I got a quote from different contractors, and Guy from Sharon Stone stood out. He was pleasant to work with and could work around our neighbor's scheduling requirements(We have four different neighbors around my property and an HOA) Work quality is superb, and the work was done professionally and quickly; within a week, we had over 150 feet of fence worked out to all neighbors' satisfaction. The fence gate looks nice and of high quality; all materials are PSTD hard red wood with 4x6 studs. It seems sturdy, and I am confident it will last many years. To summarize, scheduling was easy. Guy was able to help me with the neighbors, and everyone was happy with his work. We highly recommend working with Guy and his team, an A-team that can easily pull it off. read more

Wow! Totally blown away by their service. Sharon holds your hand through the entire process -- from picking out the stone through installation and aftercare. Along with her great energy and enthusiasm, she is 100% professional, detail oriented, and meticulous. Nothing will fall through the cracks. She made sure we had the opportunity to inspect the slabs before they were cut, and to approve of the layout pattern for our counters and backsplash. Her installation team -- Javier (who has a great eye for patterns and layout) and Lucio -- are top notch as well. I wish we had used her for our whole remodel! read more

WOW, I don't even know where to begin. Sharon and her team were AMAZING. We live in a 3 story townhouse and have been wanting to remodel our flooring. We had a combination of standard carpet and tile. Sharon's team expertly removed our tile WITHOUT any issues and carpet perfectly. We did our renovations during COVID19 and her team was SO respectful of mask wearing, sanitizing and cleaning up after themselves. They were professional, thoughtful and so precise in their work. They are truly masters of the craft. We took our time deciding on what type of flooring and Sharon was so patient, she answered all our questions and helped us make the best choice. The choice that fit our kids, dogs and life style. Truly she is a gem. We are already planning our next renovations with her and her team. Go see her for all your renovation needs, you will not be disappointed! Make sure your pockets are full because you will want to do so many projects with her expert care! read more

Sharon is an AMAZING professional! Her team and consultation services are unmatched and guarantee a beautiful result! We did a complete remodel of a fixer we bough in Sunnyvale. I was swamped with many decisions to make and was looking for countertop solutions for the Kitchen and bathroom vanities. Sharon made the process easy for us and help us tremendously in making good design and practical choices. Sharon was very helpful in understanding our needs, she understood our preferences and budget. She was able to come up quickly with insights and recommendations that helped us to navigate among the endless options available, focus, and choose the right slabs for our project. Sharon was very helpful in optimizing the most beautiful way to cut the slabs and match them to different areas - this is very important as you want specific veins in slabs to be at different areas to show the stone characteristic and highlight the kitchen. Sharon's team was able to spot some misalignment issues in my cabinets that would have caused issues in the future. Finding those issues allowed me to get them fixed and avoid much-unneeded furstration. We were stressed with times, but Sharon promised quick turnaround and she delivered - fabrication was quick, and countertops were delivered and installed on time. read more

Their team is even coming back to stain the new pieces of wood for us. Everyone once in a while you run into a first class operation. People who care about the work and do a truly excellent job at a reasonable price. Sharon Stone is one of those rare companies. They helped us address some issues with quartz countertops in our kitchen. The entire experience - from initial call, to ongoing communication, to the work that was done was truly excellent. Terrible! This review is long overdue. I got my bathroom remodeled in 2019 and it was a nightmare! We had quality and installation issues with lighting, custom cabinet, tiling..etc. Also, it was very expensive. I had to pay for everything separately. He asked us to pay some of it in cash. Guy is very outgoing and as long as you don't complain and keep paying him, he will promise you the moon. Otherwise he gets argumentative and will say things that are not true. For instance, he installed the shower head so low that it was right on top of my head. He said this was up to standard. Also, when he installed recessed lighting for dining room, he said it was included in the permit for bathroom. I actually called the city and the lights were not included in the bath permit! Sharon was lovely to work with. We had a custom cabinet done for bathroom, but the inside was cracked when they installed the handles. Luckily, I talked to her And we were able to get a refund. Despite her, however, I would not recommend this company. I am sure if he responds to this review, he will blame us but I documented everything. read more

5/5 Highly Recommended! Sharon's team installed quartz countertop for our kitchen. Sharon is very professional and communicative. We are super happy with the result and overall process. Initially Sharon gave us a reasonable quote among the several companies we shopped around. During templating and design, her crew very patiently explained all the options we have for layout and we were able to choose a design solution that we are really satisfied. On the installation date, her crew showed up on time and did a beautiful job. More than one year after job completion, one seam between two slabs becomes slightly more obvious. This is due to domino effect which to our understanding is very common in Bay area. Sharon acted quickly and send her crew within the same week to fix the seam. We would definitely work with Sharon's team again for our next remodel. read more

Overall, Guy, Sharon and their team did a great job! I recommend them and will hire them for future projects. Guy is very responsive to questions and requests. We never felt as if he left us hanging. His workers are punctual and used to show up at 8 am every day. Sharon helped us with our design choices for tiles and the stone for the vanity countertop. I felt that all of their team members know their stuff and are skilled in their respective trades. I was especially impressed with the person who did the tiling. He was very meticulous and took great care in doing the tile work. My only complaint is that the project took longer than was initially projected. read more

We wanted to finish our outdoor kitchen with a clean modern look and Sharon was amazing with designing a solution including material, layout and finishing touches that blended perfectly into the overall look. The process from design to fabrication to installation was flawless. Sharon and her team were a joy to work with, very conscientious, and extremely knowledgeable. They used the new Caesarstone Solaris outdoor collection and got creative integrating the design into the existing pergola posts. We are very pleased with the finished result and the speed at which everything was completed. I highly recommend giving Sharon a call for any countertop and stone fabrication; you won't be disappointed. read more

My husband and I just recently bought our first home, a 2 story townhome, and our only complaint was that the kitchen and bathrooms were outdated with mismatching upgrades done over the years. We had a big project on our hands, a full kitchen re-do, the master bath, the hall bath, and our half bath. From start to finish, Sharon Stone Design was amazing. From helping turn my half thought out ideas into a cohesive, functional, and modern design, to the excellent work and craftmanship involved in bringing that design to life; I can't recommend them enough. They truly stand by their work as well, including coming out to fix anything from a minor setting issue to a leak from a pipe that didn't stay tight weeks after everything was working just fine. Such care and concern for the customer from the very start of the process well on through past the "end" of the project, speaks volumes to the work that Sharon Stone Design does including, their guarantee of the quality of that work. You won't find a better team to work with for your major house remodel/renovation! read more

I feel incredibly lucky to have gotten Guy & Sharon to design & build out my kitchen and bathroom redesign. It was something I'd put off for a while with the fear that it would be a long, arduous, painful and ineffective process. Fears be quelled, Guy was the best combination of - Reasonable price - Fantastic design quality (see pics) - Excellent response and execution timeline (whole project was done in less than 2 weeks!) I think because a home is so personal it's easy to get anxious about the quality of the decisions you'll make in your home, but I truly believe that Guy's portfolio speaks for itself. Guy literally came shopping with me to help guide my decisions to the optimal intersection of preference & pragmatism. The way I began to think about decisions were my initial predilections stacked up against an experienced contractor that sees literally hundreds of kitchen and bathroom reconstructions a year. Every time Guy suggested a change in my initial plans, we ended up going with it, simply for the fact that his knowledge and experience were equal to nothing I could find with my own resources. As a result, I am incredibly happy with the work I had done with Sharon Stone Design. Guy truly transformed my home to something that I have come to love and cherish. I would highly recommend going with Sharon Stone. We got new countertops and backsplash installed and it came out so good! Sharon helped pick out the countertops and tile. She never tried to push us for the higher price items and was upfront about price variance and if she thought colors wouldn't work together. Guy and team were respectful and always wore masks & cleaned up after themselves. His team ended up finishing our kitchen 1 week earlier than planned which was great since we have a baby. I don't write reviews, but I'm surprised to see 5 stars for Sharon Stone Design and I feel compelled to write a review due to poor work quality and the need to fix a lot of things on the project myself. This was a small project to accommodate a large fridge, consisting of extending a wall, painting, moving an electrical outlet/some plumbing work and installing new baseboard and wood panels/trim/crown molding for a tight built-in fridge look. Below are the main issues: *** Painting *** Painting felt like it was done by an amateur. Multiple issues: 1) No painter's tape to keep clean lines, paint on the ceiling. It was annoying for my wife to be asked during the painting for ceiling paint so they could touch it up. 2) Tarp only covered part of the floor, resulting in dripped paint on hardwood floor. When my wife brought it up, the worker said it wasn't a problem. 3) They didn't take the cover off an electrical outlet to paint, resulting in several inches around the cover with the old color. It looked very noticeable and bad. 4) Paint not left to dry between coats. They kept applying coats and, when asked, they brushed it off saying it dries quickly. One side of the wall showed splotchy texture afterwards. There were several visible spots where they did not paint the texture well and the under color showed through. I didn't press this point, since the worst parts were going behind the fridge anyway, but still not good. When I brought these things up, Guy was very dismissive. I came to realize that he describes many things as "easy to fix, no problem." This was frustrating on two levels: 1) Newly completed work shouldn't need "fixing." We're paying for a professional job and expect quality work. 2) Guy never acknowledged a problem with the work done. He came off dismissive and unconcerned, because in his view it was an easy fix. After multiple tries, it was clearly not possible to converse with him in terms of work quality; he only looked at it in terms of the amount of effort needed to fix it. Guy ended up saying he "wouldn't bring his guys over anymore, because he doesn't want any problems." Without ever acknowledging the poor quality painting, this makes it seem like my wife and I are the ones causing problems! My wife ended up painting and fixing it up herself. *** Wood trim install *** The fridge was installed by another crew and it was time to put the wood trimming around it. Surprisingly, Guy came with his previous worker, despite saying he wouldn't bring others anymore. This wood work required precise cutting of pieces. They seemed to be careful and took their time to cut pieces to size. The first panel went up and looked ok at first. Guy was pleased with it and said it looks "perfect." Upon closer look, I noticed the panel was not straight and bowing towards the floor. Unfortunately I had to be the one to notice this and it was only after most of the wood trim had been done. At this point it was not an easy fix. They had to adjust it by applying a lot of pressure with a crowbar. A lot of wood creaking and cracking sounds. Visually the panel is ok, but not great for its integrity. After they left, I noticed another problem: the panel was not coming out from the wall at a right angle and was noticeably angled. By this point I wasn't going to call them back, but it's very exhausting to have to double-check all their work because I simply cannot trust their quality. After all, a bowing and angled panel was deemed "perfect." For the crown molding, it was stapled in. I don't know anything about installing crown molding, but it looked very bad after install. There were many visible holes from the staples and one edge had been banged up, removing the stained layer. When I asked about the holes, Guy said I should have received putty/wood stain from the store. No problem though, I'm told, I can go back to the cabinet store, get it and do it myself. This was annoying because: 1) I didn't know I needed putty/stain to begin with; Guy never mentioned it when he told us to go pick up the wood trim originally. 2) I now have to spend time going to the store and do this work. 3) Guy was fine leaving the crown molding as-is and letting me take care of it. This was another "easy fix." *** Baseboard *** The baseboard was installed and left with a noticeable crack, which did not fully line up with the existing baseboard. It looks bad, but Guy seemed fine with the result. Again, quality of work/attention to detail missing the mark. *** Conclusion *** This was a really poor experience and I cannot recommend Sharon Stone Design. The work quality was poor, but Guy is dismissive and doesn't see it this way, which means it's unlikely to improve for future customers. Sharon was responsive and nice over phone/text. The price was good relative to other bids, but not worth it, given the poor work quality and the time we spent doing the "easy fixes." read more

Sharon was extremely rude and condescending. I would not recommend even calling this place for a quote because they can't be bothered, apparently, with "small" projects.. because they are too busy (which apparently gives them license to be condescending). Sharon did not even know my budget, but quickly became short with me when she thought i was not going to spend over 12k with them (her random number, i never brought any up), and tried to bully me into giving her a budget within moments of being on the phone. I am not a contractor, the whole point of getting quotes from contractors is to gather information about prices and compare them, not for the customer to tell them how much things will cost. Don't waste your time here- remodeling is already stressful enough, and if you're going to let a stranger into your home they should be humble and respectful about it. read more
