I can't believe this company does not have a gazillion 5 star reviews, because they deserve them. I worked with Homero, the owner of the company, and things went seamlessly from proposal to installation.
I don't think that my job was extremely complex, but I took on the role of contractor myself and it was a stretch for me. I needed to coordinate more than 6 different subs, and figure out timing, logistics, and deliveries. Throughout it all, Homero was unfailingly helpful, polite, and patient. He also responded to emails in a timely manner.
Before contracting with Stunning, I visited their workshop to see some finished work. Although I had already received a recommendation from my granite supplier, All Natural Stone, I still needed to see something finished. Homero was able to show me a mitered edge, which is the edge I wanted, and I was sold.
After I had contracted with him, I had a question about a design element that I could not describe over the phone. Homero came out to my house again to meet with me and the person doing some of the cabinet work, to make sure that he could accommodate the design that I needed.
Making the template was straight forward, it took Homero and his helper a few hours. Then I met with Homero at his shop to lay the templates on my granite slabs. I had a vision in my head that the slabs would be laid down horizontally and the templates could be easily moved around to figure out how to capture the best elements of my expensive, hand picked, beautiful granite slabs. Not so. The slabs were moved by forklift and clamp, just like in the warehouse. The templates were placed on top and taped onto the slab when a decision was made. But making a decision was not as easy as I expected. It was impossible to capture all the beautiful elements I loved in my finished countertops, so what to keep? What to say goodbye to? Homero and his wife helped me though this process, very patiently, even when I asked to move a slab into to sun, or try the template here, or here, or maybe here instead--I felt like I was being a problem, but Homero said that everyone does this, that they fall in love with a slab and want to keep as much of the special elements that they can. I felt better about taking so much time after Homero reassured me that it was OK.
Installation. Homero's crew did a fabulous job. The kitchen is still being completed, backsplash going in today with yet another subcontractor. But the fabrication on the granite countertop is, as far as I can tell, just perfect. The crew worked from 9 AM to 4 PM without a break. And they were so organized and clean! You know how you go to a dentist and the hygienist has that suction thing in your mouth all the time to take stuff away? Well, there was a bit of granite cutting at my house and one of the crew did the cutting and the other had the shop vac right underneath so that the dust didn't even hit the floor! I was very impressed.
Final bit of info--this job was done at a very competitive price. Homero is licensed, bonded and insured, and I felt that I got a great job done at a very rational price.
I highly recommend Homero if you need granite fabrication. And write a glowing review for him, he deserves it! read more
