Sharkys replaced my pool's dying DE filter with a new cartridge pool filter. He arrived timely and professionally installed the new filter. But prior to leaving some minor plumbing leaks occurred which he promptly rectified. I checked the install the next day and found some NEW minor leaks. Even though it turned out We will not be able to use John's service (he's actually outside of the service area for our house), he still took the time to throughly answer all of our questions and educated us on pool related things, checked many things for us and did a quick flush of the water inside the filter, he also gave us contact info of people that he recommends and trusts for our pool service. We bought a house with a pool and had to replace all the pool equipment after remodeling construction was complete. The pool had lots of debris and a thick layer of dirt on the bottom. John gave me a quote for vacuuming everything off the bottom and a new filter, pump and heater. His bid was competitive and I decided to go with John because he was on time to our meeting and responsive to all my follow on questions about the equipment in the bid, etc. On the days of cleaning and install, he was on time, kept me in the loop about his progress and did a clean and tidy install, including hauling away the old equipment. What a fantastic find! John from Sharky's Pools is incredibly knowledgeable about all things pool related - and more. We needed an estimate for repairing/replacing our pool equipment (the previous owners of our new home had neglected the pool), and John offered sound, cost-saving recommendations. What I appreciated most was that he actually: 1) took the time to explain how all the equipment works together to create a functioning pool, 2) took the time to test the functionality of our existing equipment before making his assessment, 3) showed us the cost of new equipment on his supplier's website so we knew he wasn't overcharging, and 4) provided a reasonable estimate that was less than other companies we had contacted. He is very professional, kind, and low-key in his approach; we never felt rushed, pushed to make a choice, or that we were asking too many questions. Even after his initial visit to provide the estimate, he researched and suggested additional options that would be better for us in the long run (even ones that meant he would lower the cost his original estimate). He also offered advice and recommendations for other work we needed around the house (like I said, he knows A LOT). Thanks to John, our pool is well on its way to being the lovely oasis we hoped it would be when we purchased our new home. Finally! Sharky's was our third try at finding a pool company who could properly care for our salt water pool. We had experienced salt water before at a hotel and it was divine. When we finally got a pool of our own we decided to go with salt water for less chemicals and a nicer swimming experience. But even the company that installed the unit didn't keep the water right, it was always really chemically. The second company wasn't much better. We were about to learn about it and try to do it ourselves, but decided to give one more company a try and I'm SURE GLAD we did! :D Our salt water pool is finally as it should be, clean, no chemical smell or feel on the skin or hair after swimming. John takes more time than any other person did in the past when he services and cleans the pool. He KNOWS HIS STUFF! I figured pool maintenance was a pretty straight forward science, but obviously keeping it just right is more of an art and we are just so pleased with the results we are getting with Sharky's!!! John of Sharky's pools was amazing. I called and left a message and he called me back very quickly. It was the weekend and he was in a training. Even so, he was concerned about how soon I needed my pool equipment to be fixed and offered to contact his son to come if I needed it that same day. I assured him that wasn't necessary and we arranged for him to come out on Monday. He was on-time and easily fixed my salt-cell problem for a very reasonable price. The funny thing is that I almost didn't call because I felt like I needed an electrician as the unit wasn't getting power. John had no trouble discerning what the issue was, and promptly fixed it.
