At the beginning I thought most of the service provider will be off on the weekend and I have to left a voicemail. Guess what? Mr Walt picked up the phone and went over all the issues we have during the conversation. Surprisingly he took immediate action and came to our house on the same day! He checked the existing equipment and texted me all the details including all the parts we need to replace plus the labor associate with each item. He is very knowledgeable on what he is doing and he came to our house again on the next day to replaced all the broken parts. He took pictures and videos to send over to my cellphone so that I can confirm the pool is working perfectly after his service. Most important part is the price was very reasonable and I didn't even negotiate the invoice. Moreover, he addressed all the potential issues that our pool may have and provide the options to me. Since I will sell the property soon I don't want to spend that much money on "remodel" or "rebuild" the pool as long as it works properly. At the last, this is my first Yelp review I have ever wrote for any type of business in the past 9 years (I came to US in 2007 as FOB) and I feel grateful to share my story and experience with Walt Conklin Pool and Spa service with all other users. He had specific testing equipment to accurately measure different aspects of our pool's chemistry, and then to see exactly how to treat it to bring it into safer ranges. This was not being done with our previous service, so our chems were way off. Over the next 24-36 hours, he executed a plan to remediate the chemistry of our pool. And it worked! He spent another hour here cleaning and assessing hardware so we have an idea what will be done moving forward. Now I have peace of mind. Bob himself is knowledgeable and courteous. They also texted 15 minutes before arrival, which I really appreciated. Adam came out to service our heater, quickly diagnosed the issue, replaced the faulty part, and thoroughly tested the system. He explained everything clearly, communicated professionally, and even left the heater cleaner than when he arrived. On top of that, he provided a 1-year warranty on the repair. They wrote all over our system in sharpie, and regularly failed to communicate between technicians, so we were answering the same questions over and over. Rates were competitive, but the value did not equate to the provided service or lack of communication--around service times, maintenance, and the services themselves. The technicians changed frequently, and we were often left feeling like we were added to a schedule as opposed to a regular weekly customer. Given everything, we will be seeking alternative options for this season.

I called the company to put in some angle stops (shut off valves) below my sinks and to carefully…read moreremove my faucet handles for refinishing. I had a whole discussion with the plumber, Ernesto on should he remove the shower faucets too, but because the refinishing would take a while, and the way shower handles work, I'd have to leave the water to the condo off for weeks while the refinishing was done. So we both agreed not worth it. I am mentioning this because we had a detailed conversation on saving the sink faucets. I even told him I'd wrap them in paper carefully when he was done. I then left him to do his work. I came back in and he was whacking away at the handles. I asked him what he was doing and he said it was the only way to remove them. I asked him if they would then be salvageable and he said no. I asked him in a panic why the heck he didn't run this by me. I would've told him not to remove the faucets if he couldn't get them out and salvage them! What he did next blew my mind. He picked up and left. He didn't reconnect the waterlines. He didn't reconnect the angle stop. He left a mess. I called the company and Melissa was very nice to me and listened to my complaints and sent somebody else out to at least give me water by hooking up the angle stops. He showed up was very angry and did bad work. The angle stops did not hold water. I called the company back and nobody answered. Nobody answered today either, a day later. Now I will be filing complaints with the contractor state licensing board, and anybody else that is relevant. Not only did he destroy my faucets, but he broke my sink as visible in the photos and video. I wouldn't call Sal's plumbing ever if you care about the quality of your home. They clearly do not care about their customers and should be put out of business.

We had a pump issue and the pool had turned green. John came out right away and gave us a plan of action and a cost right out of the gate. It was awesome to have such an honest person come out and deal with our pool. If you value someone that will follow through on what they say then I would go with Sharky's Pools for sure. Our pump even kept going off over and over again, nice Pentair installed by Paradise that the LED screen went out about 2 months after installation. So I called John to let him know because I was afraid all of his hard work would get flushed without the pump running and he came right back out and reset the pump so that it would run constantly, which is exactly what he wanted it to do. My wife and I love that he will explain things to us and will even give us tips and tricks to help the pool be at it's best. How can you go wrong with someone that wants the same thing as you do, which is to have a nice clean pool to use. I have tried both of the "big" companies in the South Bay area and could not recommend them to a friend, John I for sure would. If you expect the best for the money that you spend then I would say reach out to Sharky's and give John a shot. If you want to get a "deal" try someone else and expect to get exactly what you pay for if not less. read more

Sharkey's pools is a great and professional company. Always ready and eager to help out cliental and new cliental and other pool professionals! They know there water chemistry and equipment whether its a simple repair or just installing new equipment. I definitely recommend this great company. The saltwater pool turned a not so pretty shade of green just in time for St Patrick's Day. Another pool tech highly recommended TC Pools for ongoing maintenance. Thankfully, Tom was up for the challenge and restored the pool to its former glory. Saltwater pools require an expert to keep them looking good and TC Pools is that expert for me.

Twice now in the last two summer my pool has turned green - this never happened when Larry was at the helm. The new owner is slow to respond, and when he does he tries to blame the client. 5 days ago my pool turn green again and when we were justifiably upset, and really needed our pool guy, he QUIT! DO NOT USE KOOL BEAR.

Larry comes only if you complain or have a mechanical malfunction like a pool sweep problem or a pump motor, etc. What you get is a sub contractor or trainee who come to your house each week. I had 3 different guys in 3 years. I demanded the first two be replaced as they did nothing to help my issue and I truly believe I know as much as they did about pools. One even brought his girlfriend who was learning "the business." We hired Larry during our renovation of our pool. He was not involved with the remodel, it was done by a pool contractor. We had our pool done in a dark gray plaster and all the tiles on the water line, dam wall and spa are very expensive mosaic glass. Our pool soon became a calcified cement pond. I continually complained to the pool techs who came by each week and to Larry. Larry blames the water from the main line, the plaster, etc. etc. etc. Apparently, he and his bunch of trainees are blameless in his mind. My neighbor remodeled his pool with dark gray plaster and new tiles about the same time as mine and his pool to this day has not one speck of calcium. My pool looks like a zebra with all the white crap, my beautiful tiles are laden with calcium! The blue tiled spillway from the Spa to the pool is almost solid white! I had 2 pool experts come and take water samples from the main line and the pool and they were astounded at the horrible condition of my pool and each said "...it could have been avoided." We recently returned from a two week trip to Hawaii and found the pool full of algae. Larry's trainee didn't put enough chlorine in the water while we were gone, who knows if he even showed up? My 6 year old granddaughter said when she saw the pool "...it looks like the ocean" and it did! I could not get Larry to do anything that helped the calcium or to spend any time really cleaning it. Oh, he tried in a little spot here and there and tried a bunch of cleaners to no avail. He told me I should clean it! We even drained the pool twice, which is a pain. I don't think I needed to go through all this stuff! Long story short I paid a lot of money to remodel the pool and now I am paying over $1,000 to have the 3 year old plaster acid bathed to rid it of the massive calcium and the tiles must be blasted to get off all the calcium on the mosaic tiles. When you run your hand over the plaster it feels like 300 grit sandpaper! I am left "holding the bag" so to speak. I am very very sorry I used Kool Bear. I never got an apology for ruining my plaster and tile and making my pool look like no one ever cleans it or cares for it, only finger pointing by Larry at every one but Kool Bear. Hire at your own risk.
